On a night like this, magic can happen. Seven couples. Seven stories. One night. A night for love.
Travis can hardly believe his eyes when he first sets eyes on his new employee, Logan. The big bear is everything he ever wanted—he wouldn’t change a thing about him. Logan is strong, burly, commanding, and fun to be around, just what Travis needs in his tree-lopping business.
Logan had his heart shattered and self-confidence ruined by his ex, but maybe Travis can convince him the ex was wrong. So wrong. But first they must be sure about their feelings for one another, because once they cross that employer-employee line, their relationship will be changed forever.
Renae Kaye is a lover and hoarder of books who thinks libraries are devilish places because they make you give the books back. She consumed her first adult romance book at the tender age of thirteen and hasn’t stopped since. After years – and thousands of stories! – of not having book characters do what she wants, she decided she would write her own novel and found the characters still didn’t do what she wanted. She believes that the world is too complicated for her, so she loses herself in stories. The only thing that keeps her going are her children who are the delight of her life.
Renae lives in Perth, Western Australia. She is a survivor of being the youngest in a large family and believes that laughter (and a good book) can cure anything. Which is why it's a pity laughter is sometimes scarce on the ground.
I am enjoying this series set around Pride Night in Perth.
This is dip in the Bear and Bear loving community and Kaye thinks about body image and issue within the gay community and preferences in a number of ways.
I like Travis who is forthright and hardworking and just adores Logan in all his bear glory even though Logan doesn't really know what bears are.
Logan doesn't talk much and so we don't get as much from him as I would like but the book sets up us nicely for the next hero Connor andI am looking forward to that book coming out.
This was cute - I really liked the fact that the main character knew exactly what he liked (bears) and what he wanted (long-term commitment), and he wasn’t afraid to show it. It was sweet seeing the other MC go from being insecure about his body weight/appearance to confident. Pretty much zero angst plus lots of hairy guys. A fun, quick read.
I learnt a few things about the tree lopper trade from reading this story as well as developing a greater appreciation for the work they do.
The romance was fun and cute. Point deducted for too much flirting from the boss character when he specifically said he wasn't going to do it. Also lost point for over using the title.
First and foremost I love the way the characters in this series connect from book to book . Travis and Logan have their work cut out for them. But once Logan opens up to Travis and meets his friends and realizes that he's okay, everything from there falls into place.
Read this bc I just wanted something short and relatively sweet. The author spent a little too much time setting up the work situation. It would have worked in a full length book, but I felt we got short shrift on the relationship side. However, I do like body diversity and this handled the bear community in a pretty respectful way.
This was sort of annoying as we kept getting descriptions of the bear community. I felt like I was reading an instruction manual at times. I liked Logan a lot and thought they were sweet together. Looking forward to Connors story.
Another great installment in the series. No you don't have to read them all. They each are standalone HEA but it's nice to check in with characters from other stories. I love Connor! Please tell me we finally get his story?
Cute and fun read with a lot of info for the bear community and tree loppers (never read for this profession before). I liked both Travis and Logan, they were good together.
