So the story is absolutely simple but thanks to its simplicity that overall it becomes special. Mason is the son of a billionaire who owns an hotel. He is the classic spoiled rich guy who likes to party and have fun. If the reader is thinking that it’s the same old story he/she will remain surprised because the female character has gone through a serious illness that represents a shock for every woman hit by such a disease. Her breast cancer has taken away her dignity as a woman, left with a partial breast and another one completely reconstructed. Her scars are visible on her body and when this gorgeous guy, who by the way happens to be a bit younger than her, is enthralled by her charms then I just said “hurray” for all those women who think have lost their femininity after such a hard period. Mason on their other hand initially seems impertinent and self-centered starts to have feelings for Laura who sort of grows on him letting him realize that she is the one for him. It doesn’t hurt either to read some pieces of Trent’s story with his beloved Jessi. What else could I add? Nothing but my sole recommendation to read this beautiful book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. An emotional read. Laura lost her parents at a young age and ended up in the foster system. She tried to put herself through college but had to stop because she had breast cancer. After her ordeal beating the cancer, she now worked as a maid in the Thompson chain of hotels. She met Mason Thompson a few years past and didn't think to much of it. Now he was older and good looking as ever. He saw her one day and could not stop thinking of her. They hooked up and after that started dating. He realized he wanted to be in a committed relationship with her. Laura had a hard time dealing with him being wealthy and she was not used to it. Then she found a lump under her arm and was afraid the cancer had returned. What a hard time for Laura to deal with this again. I felt so bad for her. She was usually happy and positive about life and ate healthy. But now all that did not matter she was scared. Would Mason stand by her while she went through this? An excellent read. Highly Recommend

Housekeeping by Summer Cooper a five-star read that I’m sure will clean up in the ratings. Laura and Mason have a story that they need to share and what a story, its filled with passion and drama and filled with characters that you will care about from the first few pages, and as if they were true friends of yours some will irritate you and others you will adore. Laura is a character I assure you after her journey you will love who she becomes. Well done Summer Cooper on a story well done.

Claiming Her is a billionaire sport contemporary romance. Claiming Her is the story of Laura and Mason. Author Summer Cooper continues to write phenomenal stories with amazing storylines and characters that readers find like-able and they soon come to care about those characters. Claiming her is charming and a definite page-turner, I couldn’t put this book down until I had finished reading it. I would strongly encourage readers to read this book.
Claiming Her Details:
Beating cancer was not easy, but having to do it alone was unspeakable, but Laura did it. College wouldn't wait for cancer, and she didn't have many friends. Due to her "disfigurement" she had watched guys leave, breaking her again. Laura took the high road through it all. She went through her treatments, starting healing inside and out, and makes a point to think of the bright side with any situation. Her best friend is being standoffish and she keeps asking what is up. Well the answer is not a simple one, but the Thompson brothers are at it again!

Partying that leads to a huge mess for the staff at his dad's hotel is a routine for Mason and the staff. Mason doesn't think twice about it, the staff is definitely sick of it. When they come in to get started on the "repairs" from Mason's latest shin-dig....there are still people there, in various states of drunkenness and dress. Great! Except there is one maid that makes a comment that boosts his pride and peaks his interest.

Well just opening her mouth and saying what she felt about his measurement as a man now has landed Laura being asked for by name. Yep, extra work for her, because now on top of her other job to do, she is called on by name to clean Mason's room as well. How did he get her name anyway? Laura has thought about him for a while, this is not her first go round with him or his parties. It has been going on for a few years. That is all it was though, harmless thoughts kept to herself. She decides to go ahead and get his rooms cleaned first and then go back to her regular routine. Problem is Mason is still there and there is still thoughts, only these tend to be static electricity.

Mason found out what that blonde haired maid's name was, and asked for her to be the one to clean his rooms from now on. He is intrigued and can't stop thinking about her. Sure, there is Dad's health still at stake here, but between his oldest step-brother (Trent from the book Room Service)
stepping in and doing a lot of the work for dad, Mason decides to follow suit, pick up some of dad's work, help out and find out what is going on. However, Mason finds himself tuning out and thinking about her. That is it, he plans to do something about this. He has never acted like this with any other girl/woman before. What is happening.

Mason goes looking for Laura, when he hears sobbing, he goes to find out what is wrong. Not yet knowing who was sobbing, but when he finds Laura is the one, his heart sinks, he is at a loss. He knows this is not what he wants for her. He talks to her, and then they end up eating and then going back to his hotel suite. Mason is not about to let Laura go, and it seems that she feels the same spark. A kiss starts then flame, and Laura tells Mason about the cancer and what has happened to her, he doesn't seem phased in the least. This is a first. He takes his time, he is savoring this. This is something different for both of them and neither really know why. Laura isn't sure what is expected of her from Mason afterwards, he asks her to stay. Then she is gone when he wakes up.

Avoiding him is all Laura knows to do, but this sparks him to send expensive gifts. She has worked hard for everything she has, and this includes paying her own medical bills with no assistance. She is embarrassed and a bit angry about the pricey gifts, she returns them. Mason is upset by this, but when he thinks about it, realized that what he is doing is actually keeping her away, not endearing her to him. He changes tactics. He shows up, unannounced and they start doing things together, things Mason is trying to show her and impress her. Things seem cleared up, or at least Mason thinks so. There is a distance between him and Laura, and this time he is not allowing this to happen. He has some help with clearing up what he is still doing "wrong" and he once again changes his approach. Mason does not want to lose Laura.

There is no word once again from Laura, but this time there is something off about it. Mason decides to talk to his sister about some of this. When he finds out there is an unexpected time off from work for Laura, he is ready to drop everything and anything to find her and help her. He finds her, when he does Laura shares what has been happening. Mason is scared WITH her not just for her. They meet with the oncologist and find out this is not cancer again, but similar. Mason comes clean with Laura about how he feels and that he is going to be with her and he doesn't want to fight about it, he wants her to feel the same, and to his surprise Laura does. It surprises her too.

After being given the good news, these two prove their feelings and have a lot of time to themselves for that reassurance. Things are moving in the right direction for them, and they find themselves in their happy ever after.

Wow! Laura & Mason's story was not what I expected it to be & I was glued from the start. Laura was such a sweet, funny caring woman who having worked as a maid at the hotel for years knew first hand about Mason's reputation as the rich playboy & owners son so was shocked when she found out he had asked for her specifically to be his maid.
Playboy Mason could have any woman he wanted but when he looked into Laura's eyes there was something about her that captivated him & he had to know more about her so asked for her to be be his maid to find out more about her but when he first spoke to her she made it clear that she thought he was a jerk meaning he had his work cut out for him so he was on a mission.
They were world's apart but there was something about them that clicked & Laura was afraid to get hurt so she agreed to take things slowly. The first night they were together she had to reveal herself fully to him telling him about that she had been ill & how it had affected her body having been hurt in the past by previous boyfriends but he was so sensitive, gentle & aware of her insecurities that he was still interested in her not just physically. He knew already that Laura was the only woman he would ever have feelings for wanting to be with her all the time & Laura loved how he made her feel special they fit together perfectly. He'd never been in a relationship before so kept having to ask his sister for help not realising that Laura was her friend aswell & made him realise that Laura didn't want expensive gifts or money spent on her so had to give her things she would like not him. Just as everything seemed to be going perfect between them they both knew they had fallen in love with the other but neither had actually said the words out loud. Knowing she was the love of his life was ready to take the next step but before he had the chance Laura suddenly stopped talking to him & disappeared without a trace. Laura wasn't feeling well symptoms like what she felt when she had cancer so asked her best friend Jessi to go with her to the doctors, when the doctor who knew her history said she'd have to undergo tests she knew she couldn't put Mason through the pain of having a sick girlfriend knowing how bad it could get so stayed with Jessi somewhere near the hospital. After finding out that Laura had stopped working because she was ill Mason knew what it could be so was even more determined to find her then one day he knocked on her door hoping she would be there & when it opened he had been looking for told her he was going to be her forever no matter what the test results were. This was such an emotional story that I couldn't help but tear up a few times & I was praying that they would get the happy ever after they deserved.
Definitely recommend this book but just have the tissues handy.

Seeking Joy and Love

No guest at the elegant Thompson Hotel, the flagship of the Charlotte based Thompson international properties, would suspect that Laura, the beautiful, petite, ethereal blonde-haired, blue-eyed member of the housekeeping team, was a survivor of breast cancer. Nor would anyone suspect that the eye-catching, sweet, hardworking member of the staff, whose face easily sparkled with a smile as she went about her work assignments, grew up in foster care following the death of her parents in a car accident with a drunk driver. And, they would not imagine that the sweet woman in her 30’s had never intended to spend her working career changing bedlinens and cleaning rooms, rather she had dreamed of a career as a singer. But now, despite the hits of fate, Laura’s dreams were to maintain a happy outlook on life, thankful to have a job that she could walk to and grateful for the support of good friends like Jessie, a chef who also worked at the Thompson.

Before her cancer brought her college studies to a halt, using up her inheritance from her deceased parents’ estate and draining her energy, she had dreamed of studying music, and dreaming that she would become a famous singer with a record deal. Perhaps her presence at the Thompson would have been a very public role as an entertainer who might have been a guest at the hotel while on a concert tour across America. And, if she were preforming across the nation, she probably would have been known by many of the other hotel guests who would have sought her autograph. She certainly wouldn’t have been an invisible, silent hotel maid.

But, even as a hotel housekeeper, Laura’s beauty and sweetness were not really invisible. Certainly, Mason Thompson, the second son of the powerful Thompson family, even in a semi-drunken condition, can’t help but notice the petite maid’s blonde beauty and sweet disposition. And, a Thompson always gets the service he wants—even if the spoiled son of the owner has to intervene in the housekeeping assignments to guarantee that the sweet, petite, blonde beauty is exclusively responsible for the condition of his penthouse suite in the hotel where he is in the habit of throwing nightly parties.

Summer Cooper weaves an emotional tale of how an individual’s dreams and desires can be thrown off course by the vagaries of life. In Claiming Her, Summer Cooper introduces her audience to individuals who must learn to manage the twists and turns of life while seeking to live life with joy and happiness. While the basic plot was viable, I was disappointed that the story’s threads, like Mason's athletic dreams like Laura's musical dreams were not tightly woven. Perhaps a strong editor could have assisted in building a stronger, more engaging storyline.

I volunteered to read this Arc for an honest review. This is a great second story in this series, it builds on what Room Service started. The characters in this story, Laura and Mason, are minor characters in Room Service but they still mention Jessi and Trent from that story. Laura is a 30-something young woman who is a maid at the hotel the Thompson family owns and it is one of Jessi's best friends. Laura has watched the craziness going on in the hotel, especially when Mason's around, the party animal. The story starts off with Mason having a big party and several Maids are called in to clean including Laura, and Mason sees her and remembers her for some reason. Mason is a party animal who is trying to live his life out of the shadow of his older step brother and his father. With all the anger he has he feels he could best use that as partying. After one search party he sees Laura and she picks his interest. Mason is determined to find out more about Laura but she seems to hold him at arm's length. Or is not sure if she should fight him or give into temptation. One night after Jessi has moved Mason finds Laura in the employee lounge crying and one thing leads to another where the end up back in his room. The chemistry between the two is out of this world but neither see this more than a one-night stand. Things progressed between the two but always at back of my her mind Laura feels that Mason can do better than her since she is older and he is Young and has lots of money. Mason is finally happy. Unfortunately Laura had breast cancer in the past and she finds another lump on the other side of freaking her out. She doesn't know what she should do and cuts herself off from everyone. Mason is afraid she has lost her and will do anything to get her back. Follow through with them through the Journey of the ups and downs of how to being made and dating the billionaire bosses son. See if the two can make it work without the disapproval of everyone else around. Definitely recommend reading the story.

I really loved this book. The aspect of illness and how it would affect a new or ongoing relationship both by the person with the illness and the one who might or might not support the ill person was very engaging, emotional and ultimately satisfying. I was taken aback by the age of Mason though. I have four sons who age 17, 18 and 20 and they do not emulate this much insight and caring even though they are compassionate young men. HA HA! I guess there could be some young men out there who are more mature than most. Maybe it helped that Mason was from a wealthy family.

Laura was a beautiful character. I liked her strength and her concern for her friend even though she was going through a rough time herself. Some of the supporting characters took away from the main story too much which is why I gave it four stars and not five stars. I became interested in Mason's brother Trent and Laura's friend almost as much as the main characters and was expecting more about them. It distracted my attention from Mason and Laura. Same with Emily and Mason's dad. Too many intriguing hints of other things going on! It made the story interesting but then weren't fully explained. Many more books to come?

Ms. Cooper did pull the story together into a satisfying end. I had hoped for a surprise of some sort for more of a happy ending...I can't say more since I don't want to spoil the ending for anyone who hasn't read it yet though. Again, I can only hope for more books to come about this family.

OK, I did some investigating and found that I had purchased the first book of this family written by Ms. Cooper called Room Service, but hadn't read it yet before I received an advanced copy of this book through Booksprout at my request. I believe all of my questions above will be answered to some degree if I was to read Room Service. I didn't see a warning to other readers upon the release of Housekeeping that reading Room Service first would be a good idea, but I suggest you do so or you might also be a bit lost when reading Housekeeping.

Such a touching and beautiful story. At first I thought Mason was going to be a royal pain in the a**, and he was in the beginning, but Laura helped him to realize that life was to be lived in the moment and to respect.

Mason is a young man with daddy issues, and his way of dealing with them is to be a partier, and cause trouble when he can with his father. Laura is a housekeeper in Mason’s family hotel. He meets Laura when she is one of the maids who has to clean up after him and his friends have partied all night. They are slobs… Mason notices her but doesn’t really pay much attention at first when he first saw her, until one day when she makes a comment about his naked body. Mason is in his early 20’s and when he is focused on work, he is a great worker and deal maker for the family business. He just needs to change his ways so that he can get more out of life.

Laura is a woman in her mid 30’s and has had to deal with more than her fair share of life while she was in college. That experience taught her that life is precious and should be valued. She is a positive woman who tries not to let things get her down. She is good friends with Jessi a baker in the hotel restaurant, and she lives by herself in a small apartment. She tells herself that getting involved with Mason is a mistake, he’s too young, and he is a partier. What good could come of a relationship between them. However, he catches her when she is weak and she throws all of those things out the window. Will it be a one time thing, or will they be able to make things work between them.

If you like a touching story where an alpha male is taught that the way he is living his life could be changed and that he could have a good woman by his side, then you should pick up this book. I give this book a 4.5 star rating and look forward to more stories with the characters in this book.

Older Woman & Younger Man Romance!

This is the second book in the series about hotels that Started with the love story of Trent and Jessie.  In this book we still have them appearing which is great and that is something I really enjoy when characters keep appearing in subsequent stories.  We meet Mason, Trent's younger step brother who is now maturing and stepping up to help in the business as their father is ill, and laura who is Jessie's best friend.  laura is working as a maid in one of Mason's father's hotels and over the years she and other maids have had to clear up after one of Mason's parties.  He overhears a remark she makes about the mess and is intrigued by her and makes it his mission to find out her name and make sure that she has to always clear out his room so he can get to know her.  What he doesn't realise is that she has a secret!  He finds her sobbing one night and is worried about her and when seeing his very real concern she opens up to him. As the story develops it doesn't have any impact on the story that he is actually younger than her which is very unusual, at the moment in stories, but it worked so well and illustrates that love cares not for age differences now the amount of wealth that you possess. This is a beautifully written story just as Trent and Jessie's book was.  Such amazing characters and a storyline that brings home that not everyone has an easy life but also gives us hope that there is so much love out there and to live our lives to the full!  I was so impressed with the way that Mason's character developed over the book and he was a man worthy of Laura.  Such a lovely storyline that is so believable and such a fabulous ending.  I look forward with anticipation for Summer Cooper's next story.

Laura did beat the boobcancer alone, that was unbearable but she did it. She didn't have many friends, watched guys leave, breaking her again. Laura took the high road through it all. But she went through her treatments, healingproces inside and out, and always thinking positive.
Mason is a pain in the butt, partying and leaving a huge mess for the staff at his dad's hotel. He doesn't think twice about it, the staff is definitely sick of it. Well opening her mouth and saying what she comment about his measurement, has landed Laura extra work. Because now she is called on by name and asked for her to be the one to clean his rooms from now on. How did he get her name anyway? This is not her first go round with him, it has been going on for a few years. Problem... Mason is still in the room tend to be static electricity between them.
Mason hears sobbing and goes to find out what is wrong, but when he finds Laura is the one, his heart sinks, he is at a loss. They talk, dinner and finish the night at his suite. Laura tells Mason about the cancer and what has happened to her. He takes his time, this is something different. He asks her to stay and she is gone when he wakes up.
Things seem cleared up, but there is a distance between them and this time he is not allowing this to happen. with he's sister help, what he is still doing "wrong" and he once again changes his approach. But once again, no word from Laura, but this time there is something off about it.
When he finds out there is an unexpected time off from work for Laura, he is ready to drop everything and anything to find her and help her. When he finally find Laura, she shares what has been happening. Mason is scared WITH her not just for her.

Laura is a tough as nails cancer survivor. She lost her parents when she was young and survived foster care. She works as a maid at the Thompson hotel where she works with her best friend Jessi. She enjoys her work except when she has to put up with spoiled brats like Mason Thompson who throw parties, trash rooms and act like they're gods gift to the world. But man if he's not a tall drink of water.
Mason Thompson is the second oldest son of the hotel tycoon Matthew Thompson. His father has always compared him to his older brother and found him wanting. Matthew wanted his son to follow him into the family business and when Mason wanted to persue a career as a pro rugby player his father give him an ultimatum and Mason fell in line giving up his dreams and joining the family business. It's no wonder his relationship with his father and older brother are strained but when his little sister Emily tells him his father's had a heart attack he heads to the main branch of the family hotel chain to help out. Once there he encounters Laura one of the maids sent to clean up after one of his parties. There's something different about her that he just can resist and he knows he has the same effect on her now all he has to do is convince her he's more than his spoiled brat persona and that age is only a number. Will she be able to let go and trust Mason? Will he be able to hand all her baggage?

I love all things Summer Cooper and this quick read was no exception. I liked that I “knew” a tad bit about the characters from having read Room Service, but I don’t feel as though I needed to in order to follow Housekeeping. This was a great story about Mason and Laura. Mason is a young & rich playboy who is summoned back home and living in 1 of his family’s hotels and Laura is an older & guarded cancer survivor who works as a maid in the family hotel Mason is staying at. Laura feels like she “knows” all about Mason from hearing the rumors as well as having previously cleaned up after his infamous parties, but when she finds herself face to face yet again with Mason and the aftermath of his hotel parties, she is instantly drawn to him. However, having had cancer and survived the ordeal, she doesn’t want to play around and deal with the “Kid” as she calls Mason. Mason doesn’t give up in his pursuit of Laura and even though he may be younger, he proves to Laura that he’s more than just infatuated with her. Sparks continue to fly and a relationship develops, but is it enough for them to sustain and continue? I really enjoyed reading this book and was very happy in the end so I would definitely recommend it. Please Summer, write the next book in this series about Emily…she’s beyond wise and her character needs a storyline!!!! The second story I've read of people from this hotel and the sons of the owner getting involve in a relationship, the first one was Room Service.

Learning about Laura and Mason becoming a couple was such a great time that I'm having a hard time expressing my feelings on the matter.

Laura is a cancer survivor and a very strong woman. I love her and how she face things, no matter if sometimes she's scared out of her skin, she will find the way to get around to do what's got to be done. She's awfully loyal to her friends and the people that she considers family.

Mason has some issues about his father and they way he grew up in the family fold when he was a young child. He is a good man with the wrong attitude and view on things. Sometimes I saw him as immature but he rise from that and becomes the man Laura needs at her side.

I loved the story line and how things where developing along the book. It's not such a big, long or complicated book but it drove right through my heart. I'm not ashamed to admit I cried like a baby at some points, specially when the topic of Laura's cancer was mentioned and some things happens later on with that same topic in mind.

Recommending this book is no hardship what so ever for me. If you love cancer survivor love stories, you are right where you should, reading this book.

What surprising me most about this book is that the characters who are interwoven don't know each other. The first book is about Trent and Jessi. The second book is about Mason and Laura. Mason is Trent's half-brother and Laura is Jessi's best friend. What is puzzling is how Mason doesn't know who Jessi is and Laura has never met Trent. Jessi doesn't even know that Laura is dating her boyfriend's brother. Then at to the mix, Emily who is Mason's sister, Trent's half-sister is also good friends with Jessi and Laura, but the brothers do not know this information either. I found it to be very unrealistic. And, the back story of Mason's dad and their relationship is complete crap. Any parent who is willing to manipulate their children doesn't deserve to be a dad. Even the weak apology doesn't make up for his treatment of his son.

Getting back to Mason and Laura's story, I found it frustrating. I don't like the way Laura treats Mason. He is trying and sincere. It is not his fault how he grew up or that he is part of a wealthy family. Laura is judgmental and at times harsh. She never gives Mason a complete and honest chance or appreciate his fondness for her. It is only at the worst moment in Laura's life that she realizes how much she needs Mason. At this point, Mason is the ultimately perfect boyfriend. His reaction to Laura and her situation is perfection.

While author Summer Cooper introduced Laura and Mason to her readers in “Room Service”. Laura was the faithful friend and co-worker of Jessi. Mason was the younger, party-loving, playboy and half-brother of Trent. In “Housekeeping”, readers get the inside story of Laura and Mason, a matching that is intimated yet not discussed. From page one, readers get to know more about the outgoing, life-loving cohort Laura, that puts her big talking, yet mysterious life into a perspective that for this reader made her more realistic and yet larger than life. What I wanted to see was how author Summer Cooper was going to make me care about the party-loving, devil-may-care younger brother, Mason. I figured it would have to be a neat trick to get this reader/reviewer interested in anything that spoilt, rich, ingrate could think or do, but Cooper did the amazing! I don’t want to ruin anyone’s reading to further explain but note that this author did the impossible with her talent, she made me care. While I was given an ARC copy of “Housekeeping” to prepare this honest and voluntary review, I am now impatiently waiting for the next in what I hope will be a series of books about each of the Thompson siblings. Emily has become my favorite Thompson, so I hope author Cooper will tell us her story next. Until then, “Housekeeping” is your MUST-BUY novel of the week! Happy pages! 😉

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is the story of Laura, a 30ish breast cancer survivor who works as a maid for a local hotel chain. She discovered she had cancer when she was in college, went through the radiation, chemotherapy and has been cancer-free for a few years. She had reconstruction surgery and a nipple tattooed onto her replaced breast. Mason was the youngest owner's son working at the hotel, being 23, a heavy partier, with a hotel room always at his disposal. He was naked when he first saw Laura as part of a pack of maids sent to clean his room after an epic party. She didn't look away from him, made a smart remark and continued cleaning around him....then he started asking for her specifically to clean his rooms. Next time, Mason was passed out, naked, but Laura started the vacuum in the bedroom, before showing him out so she could finish her job....with him eventually asking her out, but as she was quite a bit older than him, she declined. Eventually he did get her to go out with him...but as she's not the type to be impressed with the money, restaurants and gifts he throws at her, he came close to losing her already....but you will have to read this poignant story to see if Laura and Mason can catch their happily ever after.

Back to the Hotel Family Saga, it is!
This time the hot n heavy dramafest revolves around owners son
Mason Thompson, partier extraordinaire, with a cocky attitude and a head for business, but a cavalier outlook on life- he has his sights set on, Laura a jaded, slightly older women whose life had not been kind, yet she had persevered and was apart of the housekeeping staff.
Mason always gets what he wants with his looks, charm, and money- Laura is not about any of those things, Mason is going to have to work out what it takes to make her see him as more than a wealthy playboy to win her over.
This second book on the crazy family antics the Thompson family is willing to go through for the ones they care about had me in emotional turmoil!
I wanted to feel terrible for Laura; I tried to look at from both sides* SIGH*, But her ways of handling things just seemed so cruel to me!
While I think Mason needed to do some " growing up " so to speak, I think he got the short end of that deal!
Heart wreckage, beautifully broken pieces being put back together, with a few witty moments, and deliciously hot scenes as well rounded out the blood pressure raising ones, that had me questioning why Laura was so mean! This fast-paced, maddening twisted, sexy romance is one I won't soon forget!
I say check this one out for yourself!

This was simply a delightful surprise with a new, fresh twist on the older woman, younger man. Mason is one four children and who will one day inherit the Thompson Hotel Chain based in Charlotte, NC. Mason was a rebellious pretty boy party type who went through women faster than a Pezz dispenser until he sees Laura, a maid working in his father's hotel. Laura is older than Mason but when the chance arises for her to indulge in her fantasy of this gorgeous man, she jumps at the opportunity. The story is extremely well written and I guess could be considered a companion book to Room Service. I have already read and reviewed that book and was pleasantly surprised to get to learn about Laura and Mason who were mentioned as side characters in the first book. What was an added treat for me was that I grew up in North Carolina where the book was set and got to hear about many of the areas I remember, especially Mooresville where I was born. Not a city you hear about much even with the Nascar fame that came out of that area, lol. I hope there are other books planned that that will feature Mason's brother Trent as well as his Sister Emily. I have quickly become a fan of the Thompson family stories and want to read MORE!

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.

>Book Review – Housekeeping
>This book is a standalone contemporary romance with an HEA. Laura is a breast cancer survivor working as a hotel maid. She has a crush on the hotel owner’s son, Mason. Mason is a player with a poor relationship with his eldest half-brother and father. These two have a few things to get over in order to be happy together. The main obstacles to their HEA are their age gap, her cancer scars, his reputation and his taboo on dating the help.
>The relationship between Mason and Laura was very sweet. Mason was trying to win over Laura, but kept doing everything wrong. The issue I had with the story was that there seemed to be a previous story that I missed. There is a side plot involving Laura’s BFF, Jessi and Mason’s eldest half-brother, Trent, but not much is mentioned confusing the story lines a bit. At the end of the story Mason mentions that Jessi and Trent knew each other as kids. Also, Mason and his siblings have a poor relationship with their father, but at the end one ‘sorry’ from the dad and all is forgiven. This is not a very realistic scenario.
>I am a reviewer for Romance Author's that Rock. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. I wish the scenes where Mason proposes, Laura meets his family and Laura sees the house were present to round out the story more.

This is the nest installment in this series and its Mason's story. Mason is known around the hotel for partying hard and leaving a huge mess for housekeeping to clean up. Everyone dreads when he visits and Laura is no exception. Laura is a maid that works at Mason's family's hotel and she doesn't let Mason get away with anything. Sparks fly when these two are in the room together especially as Mason is usually walking around the staff naked. Mason is drawn to the maid that makes a comment about him when she thinks he can't hear. He puts in a request to have her as his maid and Laura's first official day she wakes him up with the sweeper after he had spent the night partying. Mason pursues Laura with gifts until she agrees to go out with him. However Laura has some major news about her health that may put a damper on their blooming romance. Will Mason show Laura that he is serious about her?

This is an amazing story. The chemistry between Mason and Laura is sizzling hot. Once I started this book I couldn't put it down. This is a very well written and entertaining story. I would recommend this to any book lover.

Housekeeping is book 2 in the series and follows Jessi and Trent's best friend Laura and half brother Mason.

Mason is 23, likes to party, be single, act like a spoilt brat, live the privileged lifestyle whilst hiding his anger from everyone. Laura is older, a survivor, lives in the real world and tries to take it one day at a time and be positive and happy.

Both characters grow during their story and in different ways, but it's being with each other that helps them do this. Both have issues they need to deal with and how these are explored and dealt with are realistic and well written.

I enjoyed checking in with Trent and Jessi again, seeing how they were doing, and getting to see Emily in a different light as I didn't warm to her that much in the first book. I wonder if she'll get her own story after Kevin, at least that's the order I'm assuming the books will go in.

I enjoyed learning more about Laura and Mason and really enjoyed going through this emotional and life changing journey with them.

Laura is in her thirties and has survived breastfeeding cancer. She found out she had breast cancer in college and went through all the chemo and radiation (making her a hero in my book- not a fun experience) and has now been cancer free for a few years. She has also gone through the reconstruction surgery. She works as a maid for a local hotel chain. Mason is the youngest son of the hotel owner also in his twenties who loves to party and with hotel rooms at his disposal why not. These two meet when she is sent with a few other maids to clean his room. He is nake when they meet and she makes a really good comment and goes about her cleaning. He then specifically asks for her to do the cleaning of his room and again he is naked and slo passed out so she starts to vacuum before getting him out the room so she can finish her cleaning. He eventually asks her out but will she agree and what will he do when he realizes money and things won’t keep her and impress her?

This is a standalone but continues with characters from Room Service. I recommend reading Room Service first to have a better understanding of this book. Laura is a maid who has worked at the hotel owned by the Thompson family for a few years. Mason is the middle son of the family and returns home to take care of his supposedly ailing father. As Mason is a party boy, the housekeeping staff hates when he stays because of the mess that is left after each one of his parties. Laura is tasked with the unfortunate job of cleaning Mason’s room all the time. One day when she finishes cleaning his room, Mason sees her in the hall and is immediately smitten although he cannot understand why. What follows is an old tale of boy wants girl but has to overcome his own obstacles to win her affection. This story is slow to get going but once it does, about midway through, you will not want to put it down.

Mason was the party boy. Nothing stood in his way. Not family. Not the family business. He wanted his independence and took it with flair. Him bowwing to aynone rules wasn't happening. Until hie met Laura. An older womam with sassy and zeal; and didn't fall at his feet because of his wealth and good looks. Once he caught sight of Laura his thinking changed. He wanted to claim this woman not just for a good time. He wanted her because she was as different as night and day; and just her being her intrigued him. Laura is a no nonsense type of woman who wanted to live life to the fullest. After her health issue her goal was to live with no regrets. As Mason pursued her she fought against the growing attraction. She felt too much out of his league. The fires start burning and objectives started changing. This is great book because of th simplicity of the story and the purity of love unleashed. Highly Recommended

At first I felt like I already read this book, but as you read on it brings out so many feelings. This book is about a brother that you heard a little bit about in "Room Service". He is always partying and make so much work for the housekeepers at his dads motel. Mason is called home, because his dad had a heart attack, but his dad is refusing to see any of the brothers. All the staff is called to help clean his room after a party and he sees Laura there and he wants to get to know her for a fling. Laura is older and has beat cancer in College and also lost her parents at a young age. She does not care about money and thinks he's just a rich kid that always gets what he wants. Can they come to terms about their different lifestyles? Can Mason ever stop having parties? Can Mason ever stop having flings with women? What will Laura do about all Mason's attention to her? Can she get him to understand that she is a lot older than him and she don't like all this rich life style? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I received a free copy via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

I was not expecting a second book in the series this soon so it was a nice surprise to get it. This book is that of Laura (Jessi's friend) and Mason (Trent's half-brother). I like the chemistry between the two very much. It was a lot lighter and fun from the start and made both heroine and hero likable from the get go. They both have their own issues and self-doubt about themselves. I mean, who doesn't really. Also, they are from different background but you know, opposite attracts and you can't help but root for the two of them.

I like that it was also written within the same time frame as the first book, thus linking them together. It shows a different POV and changes some of my thoughts of certain situation/interactions from the first book.

Overall, a good book. You don't need to have read the first book but it will help you to know who some of the characters are and know what some situation are. Not really a deal breaker though. Recommended read.
