Britain’s infamous thief, Pierce Landcross, has returned to face justice. On the way to London, he learns that his long-lost parents are being held in Newgate Prison. To save them, however, he must first escape his own dire situation.
But not everything goes according to plan, and Pierce finds himself in yet another adventure as well as a mystery he never anticipated.

And danger isn’t too far away. Tailing them is a bounty hunter who aims to get his hands on the money and the reward offered for Landcross.
With every clue Pierce and Taisia find, they uncover untold secrets about the family and soon learn there is more to the journey than initially believed.

This is a fantastic follow on from Michelle E Lowe’s first book ‘legacy’ which is a fabulous story and well worth a read. Like the first book this one is full of mystery and intrigue, and it was certainly hard to put down. I like the characters, so I’m glad that the Author has made this into a series. Pierce Landcross and Darius Javan were my two favourite characters in the story. Pierce Landcross certainly isn’t the Queens favourite person, especially after he had the audacity to break into her room and try and rob her. To come back and face her a second time was just crazy, but he desperately wanted to get his parents out of prison. Pierce is lucky the Queen doesn’t kill him on the spot. However, she’s prepared to give him a chance, for no other reason than to amuse herself. All he must do is get into the prison and break them out. Certainly, easier said than done. Lieutenant Darius Javan still isn’t happy that Pierce managed to get away from him, and he’s certainly biding his time until they hopefully cross paths again. Joaquin Landcross is only interested in getting hold of money anyway he can, and he has no problem in stealing to get hold of it. This is a great book from start to finish, and it’s definitely worth picking up this series.
This was a great follow up to Legacy. It had its issues but it was still fun and imaginative and it kept me guessing until the end.
The story begins with the infamous thief Pierce Landcross, who still has quite the price on his head, making his way to London. He discovers that his parents have been imprisoned in Newgate and with the help of his friends concocts a complicated, yet ingenious, plan to free them. From there we follow Pierce and his traveling companion Taisia Kuzentsov, as they set out on a scavenger hunt of sorts, following clues that will lead him to a mysterious family inheritance. Unfortunately, the lawyer that handled the will teams up with a serial rapist bounty hunter. Honestly, I prefer my evil bounty hunters a little less rape-happy, but okay. *shrug * So it's a race against time for Pierce and Taisia to get to the clues first so he can claim what is his.
As the title suggests, this book is filled with reunions between characters. We get to see Archie and his wife Eilidh again, and his little sister, the darling little Clover. I wish Clover had a larger part, but this book does concentrate more on Pierce and his (mis)adventures. The vampire Robin of Locksley makes an appearance and it reminded me of what a fabulous character he is. He's a little too likable for his own good, it's really hard to not to love him regardless of how deadly he is. He's just so damn interesting and a little too charming. We get to see more of Indigo Peachtree and we are also introduced to a host of new characters. I especially loved the elves and the Toll Man. With the introduction of so many new characters, there was a bit of an info dump at the end but I can see how that would be almost unavoidable.
I found the love story between Pierce and Taisia a little forced, but I adored Pierce so much and wanted him to be happy- so I got over it. He was a little unsure of himself and I found it incredibly endearing. Taisia was delightfully volatile yet never wavered in her love. I think she was a good match for him and I loved the side plot with her former circus troupe as we got a chance to know Taisia a little better.
As I said above, I really could have done without the bounty hunter Swansea's rapey tendencies. Perhaps I wouldn't have bothered me so much if it was mentioned less. Every time he thought about catching Pierce, his mind would immediately go to his fantasies of raping Piece and Taisia. Eventually, I was like Okay, I get it. You take great joy in repeatedly raping every person you catch before turning them in. Please stop thinking and talking about it. But that's just me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
All in all, I really enjoyed this installment. There is a lot of lore and mythology in these books that make them unique and really fun. Plus, revisiting this world and its characters was a bit like seeing old friends. I'm looking forward to the next book.
*I received an arc from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

If you were a fan of “Legacy (The Legacy Series, Book One) by Michelle Lowe, you are going to love, love, love the second installment “Legacy The Reunion, The Legacy Series, Book Two”. A non-stop adventure fantasy romp from start to finish. The primary emphasis of this part of the series deals with Pierce Landcross and his adventures through Victorian Era southern England to escape his parents from Newgate Prison and follow clues to find an inheritance left to his mother from her brother, There is a line in the last chapter of the book where Nico says goodbye to Pierce and his friends “Merci. Never in my life have I experienced so much excitement.”, well Nico, all I can say is you should have been around from the beginning of the book it would have take your breath away. There is a much stronger “steampunk” element to this installment, along with the fantasy and adventure that, as I said, just never stops. I am so looking forward to the continuing saga of the Landcross Clan and their adventures. I also quite enjoyed the elfin element introduced in this part of the ongoing storyline. The first book had some vampire action, not so much in this one however. Although mentioned they play a smaller part to the plot. I also like the idea that if you did not read the first book you will be able to read this one without needing much guidance. Even though this book pretty much begins where the first left off, it could easily be read as a standalone. I however recommend reading the entire series to get the full impact.

I am a big fan of this series. Pierce Landcross is a great character and he pulls me into the world. This book was exciting to read and full of action and adventure. I enjoyed it very much. I can't wait to see what Michelle comes up with next. This series has a little bit every thing thing in it for me. And money, inheritance, is always a plus for me. A small bit of money has been left to the Landcross family, so they should go collect. Right? Of course when money is involved everyone wants a little share. *This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.*
I got a review copy of the first in the series and immediately moved to this next one right after finishing it.
A little more fantasy than the first (just a little more), and a gadget or two, it’s faster paced.... more of a page turner. And the sub-stories are more focused, with a thickened main plot though it still rides close to the surface. We learn a little more about the protagonist, and some of his relations, but there are new elements that need more story. Which, I expect following the flow of this one will come.
I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Wow what an unexpectedly fun read! Legacy-The Reunion is a character driven story with a big emphasis on family and adventure. This was a very creative and imaginative tale that captivates you from the beginning and holds your attention up until the end. Before getting too far into the review, I must admit that Legacy-The reunion is the second book in a six-part series and I have not read the first book. With that being said, there may be some things that didn’t make sense to me but probably would have made sense if I had read the first book. So while it is possible to read it as a stand-alone it would be better to read the first book beforehand and I highly recommend doing so as there was a lot of mention of characters and events that occurred in the previous book.
What I liked:
Pierce Landcross- I loved Pierce. He is hands down my favorite character in this book. I know that he is supposed to be a criminal and a thief but I cannot see him this way. Even when he does bad things in this book, it was easily justified as doing it for his parents or in self-defense. He is a very likable character and his commitment to family was admirable. I loved how much of a gentleman he is with Taisia and I felt so bad for him that he had so many people after him. Just leave my Pierce alone!!
Family dynamics- I loved learning about Pierce and his family. The relationships he has with his parents and brother are very complex. I loved the journey that he takes and how he learns a lot about himself and where he came from along the way. As the title suggests, the story focuses on the reunion between Pierce and his long lost parents.
The adventure- The premise of a secret inheritance that can only be found by following a series of clues was very well done. I loved seeing Taisia and Pierce overcome hurdle after hurdle and come ever closer to this elusive inheritance. Having a bounty hunter tailing them was an added element of suspense.
The writing- I loved Michelle Lowe’s writing. It was simple and straightforward while being entertaining and definitely addicting. It was not overly complicated and is very easy to follow!
What I did not like:
The characters- I did not like that there were so many characters in this book who only make very brief appearances. I would say that a good 50% of the characters are throwaway characters that once their usefulness in helping Pierce along is up, we never hear from them again. There were a couple that I can name off the top of my head such as the Queen and her husband, I cannot even remember the name but the owner of the opium den, and finally the vampire. All of these characters are briefly mentioned in the beginning and then are absent for the remainder of the book. I kept waiting to see if any of them would make a reappearance, especially the vampire as it seemed as though he had some unfinished business with Pierce but nope! I’m sure there will be mention of the vampire in the next book but I didn’t think it was fair to make such a cool character have such a brief role in this story. Also with Elide, what was with that scene in the carriage? A lot of potential for a cool plot line but the author didn’t go anywhere with it. I also didn’t like how Pierce’s parents and his friend Archie and his family have a really big role in the story and then are absent until the very end.
Also there was a brief portion in the book in which it switches to Pierce’s brother, Joaquin, and his story line randomly. Although it was an entertaining story line, I don’t know how it fits with the rest of the story.
It's a family Reunion!! I really enjoyed this second book of the Legacy series. These characters are so fun and it has been great to get to know each of them. Archie and Clover make an appearance as does Eilidh. Robin shows up waayy too briefly. I can't wait to see if he gets more attention in upcoming books. We get to meet Grandmother Fey who is as impish and tough as the rest of the family. But Pierce takes center stage as our charming rouge with a heart of gold. He has to go save his adorable and tough parents. It's the last person in the group he has to save that gives him the most trouble. But OH was it worth it. Taisia is a wonderfully complex lady who thankfully loves our Pierce. I thought it was fantastic that she kept thinking of how it was up to HER to save HIM. HER to keep HIM safe. There were two 'fights' between them where her temper gave me whiplash and prevented her (at least initially) from doing her job of protecting Pierce. But I forgive her. Again we have a really horrible bad guy in the bounty hunter who is after Pierce and Tasia. I do agree with some of the other reviewers in that he could be a lot less rapey. And a lot relieved that the author didn't actually go there. I'm just so pleased to have found this series. I cannot wait to see what happens next.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
I was offered this ARC in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book I've read by the author and the second book in this series I've read. I feel a little guilty because I forgot I had the book and it took me a while to find it again. This however did not affect my review.
It took me a bit to get back in to the swing of this book not because it was difficult to read but because of the number of books and genres I've read since I read the first book. What I can tell you is I still love these characters. They are likeable and interesting. The flow of the book makes it an easy read and the story made me want to skip work to read more. There are parts were I was a little confused but I think the had to do with this being an ARC and the length of time since I had read the first book. The series is a nice mixture of historical fiction and fantasy, I'm looking forward to the third book.
Piece Landscross continues with his frantic dash for freedom, but as usual, it is one step forward and two back. Family matters further complicate his life, one shock after another. The supernatural raises its head again. Now he has a particularly nasty bounty hunter on his trail as well as the law. Plus he falls in love. The poor bloke has hardly time for a quick breath before he steps into the next mess. Recommended reading.
Witches and nymphs and elves join the characters from the first book LEGACY in the second book LEGACY THE REUNION. Author Michelle Lowe creates a story of love, betrayal and discovery. Michelle Lowe has created another page turner, why do so many people want Pierce dead? Will Pierce have a long happy life with his new bride? WHAT? is Joaquin (Pierce his older brother) and can he be saved? I can't wait for the third book LEGACY UNDERGROUND. Dr. Marty Kuhls
