Fleeing for his life, Ricky Valian heads to Duteria, home of an institute of sorcery. With the help of his two servants, Ricky must learn the basic sorcery that he hadn’t needed before. His studies take him out of Duteria and into new perils as he discovers an insidious plot to disrupt all the governments of his world. Young Adult/Coming of Age/Sword & Sorcery
I write action/adventure fiction with a definite proclivity towards Sword & Sorcery. I like magicians, but I'm less partial to unicorns, dragons, elves and dwarves. But give me a hero with a magic sword and I'll make him sing... Wait, I already have!
I've published a number of works under the CasiePress imprint and there are more to come.
I'm an older guy (Guy!), married and all my kids have grown up and given me grandkids to dote over. I've read thousands of books and found that in most cases, I'd rather write than read.
Fascinating character and content development! I so enjoyed all the twisthumerous interactions with all players.s and turns and humorus interactions with al the players. W hat a fine read and very compelling story line. M. Bagley. Ashland, Or. (69 yr.old)

The story continues. The time in the rings could have had more detail. The division of training somewhat makes sense, but when people spend years in each ring and many are expected not to complete, the segregation of training without much bleeding between the rings seemed a little rigid. I liked the broadening understanding of the world, and I liked how the last sentences explained many things while providing a hook to continue the series.
Awesome continuation of a great story. There were a few writing mistakes in part of the story which probably should have been picked up through editing. I don’t think it deterred me from the story though. They do need to be corrected. I enjoyed the story and Ricky’s continued growth of his abilities. I can’t wait to read the last book.
More of the same intrigue, action, and good stuff of previous stories. Ricky might be thought of as a culmination of a breeding program to produce a super sorcerer.
With only the last volume if the Song of Sorcery to go, I have an observation.
The sentence structure frequently made it difficult to know who was speaking. For example:
1) “I assume you were the one to eliminate Mara?” “We fought, she lost, in Naparra.” “You flummoxed Sorcerer Benicci. She thought Mara was more than a match for you.” 2) “She doesn’t know Hendrico as I do. There are few Tower sorcerers stronger,” Hemo said. “I am not one of them.” 3) “But he helps me,” Ricky said. 4) “How strong is Loria?”
Num 1 is spoken by Ciara. There's only a space before her next sentence! Num 2 by Hemo, but his name is in the middle of the quotes. Num 3 is Ricky. Who says Num 4?
