At fifty, widow Annie McLaughlin is alone, lonely, and at the lowest point of her life. She has raised her son, buried her husband who was also her Master, and retired from a job she never really loved, but that paid well. Her older, alone status has kept her from visiting Club Esoteria, a place where she and her husband always loved to play.
Max and Silver have been a couple for five years and living a Master/slave life for the past three. Retired fifty-something military veterans, they have been nomad bikers for the last five years, looking for a place to call home.
Running late one night, they meet up with Annie and think they have a reason to stay in New Bern. Will Annie be able to submit to both men? Will her son cause problems? Will Dominic, and the members of Club Esoteria, accept them into their family?

I always thought I had been born a hundred years too late, but I do appreciate air conditioning, computers and other conveniences of modern day living. I love the slower pace of New Bern, North Carolina as well as the history and small town community. Imagine a neighborhood where people wave at one another and keep eye out for the children. It's like living in the 1950s. In addition to dreaming up my next story, of which there are always two or three in the works, I enjoy reading everything from children’s books to romance to mysteries to vampire adventure, singing in my church choir and needle-weaving.
I love to hear from readers at coopermckenzie@ymail.com.
I read this book almost non stop. I liked the heroes very much. It was a hopeful story for soon to be retired people. I liked the male models on the cover. Sweet story. I enjoyed how the heroine was portrayed. Many readers will relate to her. I truly enjoy reading silver foxes which is kinda rare. I also like the open doors. It was funny! Mrs McKenzie has a great way to make her characters real an lovable.
However, IMO, few things could have been developed... the timeline is one of them. I found the meeting and the immediate falling in love aka immediate wish to be a permanent trio way too short. No mention of contract or negociation in a slave/Master was missing and I cringed. Especially in a trio. Everyone has a place, a role to play. The real discussion between the males were almost non existent. Finally no resolution with her son and epilogue were too short.
overall, I had a great time reading this story. hopeful is truly the only word I have in mind and I read the last words with a smile... wich is what I am looking for when I read a book 🙂
I like that there are more books but what happened to the other people? I know the club was sold but did everybody stop going to the club? Ever since it was sold there is no interaction with anybody else. That's part of the fun. The last couple of books were not very good at all. I have one last book to read in the series and if it doesn't measure up to the first books then I who've reading any more of them.
Love this series! My how Club Esoteria has changed...but in a good way.
How you can go from deep depression to find do g the loves of your life in just 8 weeks......Cooper McKenzie does it again. I read this in one sitting....impossible to put down. Can't wait to see where the next book in the series takes me.
