Since Tammy Jo's last adventure in Casually Cursed, she's been living happily with no magical mishaps to speak of. Being held up on the side of the road and robbed of some freshly baked pies is the first indication that trouble is brewing again. If you're a Southern Witch fan, this short 10,000-word adventure will reveal how Tammy's life has changed. And how it's stayed the same.
It’s been 3 yrs since the last Southern Witch book was published. I had to go back to refresh myself of the storyline. However, I found that didn’t help me at all as Perfectly Pie-Jacked is set 5 years in the future. So much has happened that at first it was hard to absorb & keep everything straight. I wish this had been a full length novel so I could have been eased into all the changes a little slower with a little more background & information. I did enjoy this novella & hope there may be a few more to come.
A quick Novella epilogue 5 years into the future for Tammy Jo and Bryn. Being pie-jacked while out on her deliveries is one thing but when Bryn disappears it’s all magical hands in deck to the rescue. The kids are hilarious.
I was so excited to finally read this novella. I love Tammy Jo and the magical world of Duvall, Texas and all its inhabitants. I was excited to read about her and Bryn's children. I believe this is the last book/novella in the series and I was a bit disappointed. I was hoping for a little more detail into Tammy and her family's life. I wanted more story about what Edie had been up to. I wanted Zach to have a happily ever after of his own. I wanted to know more of how Kismet was ruling the fae world. Where's everyone else's happy endings?
First let me say if you haven't read the Southern Witch books you will be lost reading this and it won't make a whole lot of sense, but if you have then it's a lot of fun. Good story for a short novella. Lots has happened since we last saw Tammy Jo and Bryn, and we are quickly caught up in a few pages. Old characters are still around too. and it's always nice to follow up with them. Enjoyable quick read.
This one is for the fans. Perfectly Pie-jacked is basically an epilog a short peak into Tammy Jo's life which is as zany as ever. We get to see Tammy Jo, Bryn, Zach, Edie and others we have come to love throughout this series still having adventures. It was fun seeing my favorites again in this way to short story.
It was great to have more in this series but it was just too short. I really wanted more time with Bryn and his dialogue with Tamara. It would have been interesting to learn a lot more about the children.
A short story to bring a satisfying conclusion to a fun fast series. Loved every heroic adventure with Tammy-Jo. I was hoping for a few more but I was glad it wasn’t dragged out back and shot.
I enjoyed the first three books in the series. I liked finding out about Tammy Jo, Bryn, and their children, but I wish we got to read more about them as a family.
Given the facts; eg., the timing (three years since the last novel, but just before the release of a new series), the first page advertisement hawking the upcoming first book in the new series, the link to a webpage with more information on the new series, and a button to sign up for a mailing list for the new series, I don’t think I’m being overly cynical in believing that this novella was published to drum up business and sell the author’s new series.
It would have been nice to visit old friends, but the novella wasn’t very tightly plotted, loose ends are left dangling, kids are suddenly everywhere, the kids who are everywhere are not acting in a believable manner for their respective ages, and last, the twin daughters are NOT amusing. The non-stop fighting and oneupmanship is annoying and tedious. Plus, being dropped in the middle of all these changes without any softening segues was a bit jarring. I think I am actually glad the story was not a full length novel.
Mostly, I’m annoyed that I let myself be suckered into paying for an advertisement.
