Amelia has been with David forever, or at least it seems like forever. While their relationship was great for the first few years, everything is beginning to crumble. When things finally blow up, she's totally crushed.
Now she has a job opportunity in Scotland, just the journey she needs to get away from the Midwestern US and lick her wounds. Little does she know, she's about to meet not one, but two gorgeous European guys who know just how to get David out of her mind. But first, she's going to need to untangle one hell of a lot of drama between these fascinating men.
Adam
Adam is a man of few words, a dark past, and endless emotional depth, not to mention a body to die for. After setting down his roots in small-town Scotland, he's content to work at his small pub and try to forget the past.
He's been perfectly happy keeping it simple, but when Amelia enters his pub one fateful night, he knows in his bones that things are about to change for good.
Callum
After leaving his hometown where he attended school with Adam, Callum moved to Edinburgh for college. But the siren song of his friend Adam continues to gnaw at him, reminding him of what could have been despite their drama. When he comes back to visit, he gets a double dose of hotness: Adam is still there in all of his sensitive, muscular brooding, but now there's a new woman in town and she's impossible to ignore with her gorgeous face and beautiful mind.
These three people have played the game of love and paid dearly for it. Now they're inextricably drawn together, but they're playing with emotional fire. Will they be consumed by the flames or will they find just the healing they need to patch up their broken hearts?
Three if by Sea is a scorching hot Bisexual / Menage MMF standalone romance with VERY steamy scenes, a beautiful small European town, and a HEA ending with no cliffhangers!
I’m really torn on how to review Three if by Sea. Nicole Stewart writes amazingly erotic MMF scenes with tons of emotion and great storylines. I am a huge fan of her work, but there were some pieces of this book that missed the mark for me. Some were areas that felt incomplete, rushed, or even forgotten.
I loved the love story of Amelia, Cullum, and Adam. I thought their interactions were sexy, steamy, erotic, sensual, and even romantic. You could feel the chemistry between all three. The way Nicole would describe certain elements, I could clearly picture it in my mind. Sensual looks, penetrating glares, erotic scenes, it was as if I were right there in her mind as she penned what she was envisioning.
What I didn’t like was how the whole story with David was amped up with him realizing he made a huge mistake, wanting Amelia back, standing up to his parents and telling them he was going to ask her to marry him, even going so far as to buy a ring. They exchanged a couple lengthy emails while she was in Scotland, agreeing to meet when she returned to Chicago, but we never got that scene or even anything about what happened when or if they met up in Chicago. Their previous relationship was explained in such detail in the beginning of the book, then built up again with David wanting to reconcile, then….nothing. I just felt that was incomplete, that the end of the book was rushed and left me with more questions than answers.
The epilogue left even more questions. For starters, she left in January but the epilogue states eight months later she returned but it was April?? Also, when she discussed staying in Scotland with Adam previously, she was adamant that living on the farm was not a life for her, she worked so hard for her degrees, what would she do, where would she work, etc.? How did she get to where she was now in her decision?
Lastly, I was bothered by how close the three of them were, yet there was only one email in those eight months?
Again, I generally love Nicole Stewart’s books. I think if the whole David issue were left out, this probably would have been at least a four star book for me. But I can assure you, this one book will defiantly not keep me from reading more. I look forward to her next book!
Amelia comes to a crossroad of sorts just after graduation. You can tell her and her boyfriend lack in the communication department and that turns true when he accepts a job in a different state without even telling her he was looking. This leaves Amelia to make some choices on where she wants her life to go.
The timeline gets a bit wanky but she accepts a research project in Scotland (again pushing the boundaries of reality).
Of course she meets a very handsome man her first night in town. Of course they get it on like donkey kong and of course he falls in love with her that night. Then (weird timeline) 3 days later she meets another handsome man. Lust at first sight here, but she has the wherewith all to slow it down a bit. Remember she just broke up with her long term boyfriend, just met a new love all within 4 days. Go Amelia!
Timeline gets confusing, she does her research (alone). Man number 1 decides he will take the little time they have together. Hot steamy sex ensues (this is one thing Nicole can write, hot sex). Their little weekend together is great.
THEN...... she walks in on man 1 and man 2. WHAT?!? then BAM they become a threesome.
Nicole's stories seem to all have a love at first sight, no communication, hot sex, and quick ending. We don't get much resolution to the long term boyfriend thing, not really sure why his part was even in there without closure. *shrug* Maybe in another book, but considering she writes MMF I don't think David is into that so......
~I volunteered to read an advance copy.

I recieved this book as an ARC, and I am thrilled to give my honest review. I love Nicole Stewart's book, and this one is one that just stays with you. Amelia is just an amazing character that you can actually feel her indecisions on her life, and what she feels and how she feels, or where she is suppose to be. Off to Scotland to work on a project after college Amelia is out in the middle of nowhere, roughing it. From her small cottage to the little pub she meets Adam. Instant connection with no promises. When Callum walks into the pub she can not believe her luck, what are the chances of two great guys in this small town. But what happens when she finds out that there is something between them? Can one become two, and two become three? Awesome book of three indivituals in search of their futures and what its going to take to complete this love for each other.
It's a very sweet story, no major drama (despite the blurb). If you want something calm and safe, the first 50% is a good book. The latter half is downhill from there.
Amelia's sadness at David's family's dismissal of her bounces off the pages. You know that they couldn't possibly accept the likes of her into their circle. Poor Amelia feels like a milestone around David's neck, then Wallop! Job in New York, take it or leave Amelia, no discussion, no feeling out the prospects for work for Amelia, David's bullish attitude does him no favours. But as the saying goes....when one door closes another opens, and Hello Scotland and Adam! And what follows is one hell of a research adventure to say the least. But as times passes and the tables turn, Amelia is finding herself not wanting to settle " just for", and once those words have been said they can't be unheard or taken back. She has now placed Adam into her shoes and she finds herself stepping into David's when he let her know he wasn't about to settle for less than what he wanted. Just as I am settling into this story and thinking it's all about pay back time for Amelia, when along comes Callum and one spectacular Hello! But before you get all complacent and think you know where this story is heading, we veer off and Amelia has the sense of Deja Vu and the lack of inclusion in important decisions being made about her and her future. And now I'm thinking; Just let it go Amelia and jump feet first! She must have heard me because suddenly the dynamics between her, Adam and Callum are changing, evolving. Will they find their end goal and reach it? This story has so many subtle turns, it keeps you turning the page. I haven't read one of Nicole's books for a little while, I had forgotten briefly, how fantastic she is. Looking forward to the next one already! Fabulous read, highly recommended!
I received this book as an ARC. I'm so happy I found Nicole Stewerts books. I loved this book. It was heartbreaking, funny, loving and really hot. Amelia had been with her boyfriend for so long. He didn't deserve her. Not standing up for her with his family and putting his needs and wants before her. So when things end between them she decides to take a trip to do a research project where she falls hard for a small town Scottish farmer. Things get hot between them very fast. Then another man comes into the picture and Amelia is confused of her feelings for him. When she finds the two men in a very compromising yet hot position things between the three escalate quickly. The love they have for each other isn't hard to see. Knowing her trip is coming close to and end she has a tough decision to make. Does she stay in Scotland with the two men who love her or does she go back home to no job and no one to love her? I at first was super upset with the ending thinking it was just left open. Not knowing what she chose to do bothered me. But Nicole came through and answered some unanswered questions. The most import ones. This is a great read. And I recommend this book for anyone looking for a hot m/m/f romance.
I received this book as an ARC for my honest review. Three if by Sea left me wanting more of Amelia, Adam and Callum. After a surprise from her finance David that he’s accepted a job in New York and moving there, but he didn’t talk Amelia. And his mother didn’t approve of Amelia because she was not from a rich and high society family and she treated Amelia very badly. Amelia went Scotland gathering information from the local farmers. Upon her arrival she goes to the local pub and meets Adam.. Then meet Callum she’s attracted to him also, then she walk in on Adam and Callum getting it on. She’s shocked and runs back to her cottage. They asked Amelia have she ever been with two men and sheer reply I try anything once! Loved the MMF love scenes. I would have given a five star ⭐️ review but this book left me wanting more of their story and it left me with so many questions wanted more scenes with Amelia, Adam and Callum. I wanted to what happened between David and Amelia did he ask her to marry him. How did Adam and Callum end up back on Adams farm living together. What took Amelia so long to come back to Scotland to be with Adam and Callum... Nicole Stewart have done it again Three if by Sea is a must read! Very good read from start to finish!
There should not be outside the relationship sex in romances
So, this will contain spoilers. Please read no further if you're not okay with that. David sleeping with someone else within the time he and Amelia are broken up is unacceptable for the reason and circumstances of their split up - because they're getting back together If they were not getting back together, then it wouldn't matter. His place in the story would be over. But it's not because he is still a part of this eventual relationship, so he has no business sleeping with someone else. After being with Ameila for 5 years, he's going to sleep with some random girl? This is gross and totally unromantic, therefore not belonging in a romance book. This kind of thing will earn a 1 star from me every time, will cause me to stop reading a book, which will make me feel as though I've wasted time, and this now a mark in my mind against this author. If cheating or outside the relationship sex is going to be in a book, it needs not be labeled a romance. I am very upset. I do not recommend this book at all.
Another enjoyable MMF story by Nicole Stewart. Amelia has been dealt a few hard blows in her life. Her family practically disowns her because she leaves the nest to pursue a future and her long time boyfriend David basically thinks she should also fall in line with his dreams not her own. She takes off to the wilds of Scotland to work on an economic study through her college professor. While she knows she is there for only 6 weeks and the living will be primitive, she sees it as a way to clear her mind for what comes next in her life. She never saw Adam coming and all it was supposed to be was a night or two of fun. She is also extremely attracted to Callum who is just visiting family. What comes next is a shock to her system and a surprise to all involved. Do you choose the possibility of a life of love in a land that is not home? Or do you go back and make a life for yourself there. Steam a plenty in this story.
Amelia thinks she has her life planned out. She's living with her boyfriend David and as they both graduate, he informs her that he accepted a position in New York, and expects her to follow. Amelia doesn't, and David wants to break up. Heartbroken, Amelia accepts the opportunity to go to Scotland to do some research for her college. Never in her wildest dreams did she think she'd meet a new man named Adam. She's very attracted to him and they begin to enjoy each other's company. Adam is bothered by the fact that Amelia will be going home soon. He cools things off. Meanwhile, Amelia meets Callum. She's also drawn to him. Imagine her surprise to find out that Adam and Callum used to be involved, and just recently hooked up again. Can Amelia let go of her carefully layed out plans and listen to her heart? Can a three way relationship work for her? I loved this sexy, erotic story, but if your not a fan of male on male action, then this books not for you.
With one of those “sort of might get together after a time apart” break-ups behind her, Amelia heads off to rural Scotland to do a study on small farm economics. Well, if I knew there’d be guys like this in those places, I’d go, too. ;-)
She doesn’t actually meet them until about 25-30% in (I didn’t note exactly where) but when she does, it’s fireworks! Given the hot and cold treatment, she ends up going out with a second guy. Stewart is really good at parsing out the emotional journeys of her triads, and this one is not different. And of course, the sex is does not disappoint.
It does feel like the story was truncated, that some was left out and mentioned only in the epilogue, and leaves a dangling plot thread. But it does end on a positive note. The main question is, now that they’re living where they’re living (why?) how does the rest of society handle their unconventional relationship? It was a decent-sized question brought up.
After seeing such great reviews about this book I knew i had to read it and thankfully it lived up to the hype! Read in a few hours it was a perfect in-betweener and just what i needed after reading more heavier content, but saying that, this in no way felt like a short story or rushed, so well done to Nicole Stewart for that. We got a "good enough" background on the characters... There were still some things about each of them i would have liiked to know more about. Netherless the characters still had a chance to grow on me and i really liked each of them equally. The storyline developed well, fast but as i said not lacking. It was a mmf but don't let that put you off if is not your thing, it was done tastefully and mainly more mf.
This was my first read from NS and will be sure to read more from her in the future, great read!
Amelia has struggled to find her place in the world. Disowned by her family for wanting something better for herself, and unsupported by her fiance' who let's his mother bully her, she finally finds herself alone. An opportunity to escape in the form of a research grant leads her to Scotland and ultimately her path to find her true self, with the help of Adam and Callum.
I enjoyed going on Amelia's journey of self-discovery. The book was well written, the characters engaging. I think the book would have been better with a sequel, then ending with the epilogue. After the last chapter I was left with questions, and kinda looked forward to more. When the epilogue was added, it left me a bit confused.
All in all I highly recommend this enjoyable read.
I found it hard to follow most of the story without finding myself asking even more questions and I never seemed to find the answers. It felt incomplete and almost rushed. This does not reflect the Authors' previous works which I enjoyed immensely. It just fell short on me. The character development for Amelia and David was done well in the beginning but dropped off while in Scotland and neither Adam and Clallum really developed and then David who seemed an important character in the beginning, completely dropped from the picture and I could not make sense of it. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book and downloaded it on KU to get the epilogue which really didn't offer much more. It was supposed to be "8 months later" but she left in January and returned in April? Still one of my favorite authors, just not this book.
Three if by Sea is a MMF Bisexual Romance by Nicole Stewart. This is the seventh or eighth book I have read by Ms. Stewart and I have loved them all. Ms. Stewart has a way of bringing her characters to life. I love the setting in this book, Scotland. Amelia is just getting out of a bad relationship when she is offered a job in Scotland, and she is thinking this will be just the place to put her life back together. She wasn’t expecting to meet anyone let alone two someones. Adam and Cullum are a handful and Amelia has to figure out if she is ready for this kind of commitment. This is a wonderful, fast flowing read. I highly recommend this book and author.
After being dumped by her boyfriend of four years, Amelia decides to take on a project for the university that has her heading to Scotland. Once there she meets two men, Adam and a Callum, that she is very attracted to but wonders if it is fair to act on those feelings and string both men along. It is not until she walks in on an intimate moment between the two men that the duo becomes a triad. But will she return home when the project is done? Or will she stay and build on the relationship with her two men. With great characters and a heartwarming storyline this story should not be missed.
I really enjoyed this book. It was set-up a bit differently than previous books by Ms. Stewart, but that is OK; it's why this book is as unique as her others. Amelia and Adam seem to have this instant connection, she has the same with Callum, but with more reservation. Her feelings seem to be stronger for Adam in the beginning. Once the three of them get together, it is all fireworks and hot, romance. I found the epilogue to be very touching and endearing. The only thing I really wanted to know was what happened to David; Amelia's ex.? Anyway, the book was enjoyable to read and I would read it again. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
📚I am honestly and voluntarily reviewing an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book 📚 3 1/2 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Read I admit to being a closet “ménage-curious” person, and I enjoy that Nicole Stewart let’s me live that fantasy through her books. Although not one of my favorites, Three if by Sea was still a solid read. Amelia, Adam, and Callum’s story took some time to get into, sometimes the story felt rushed and a bit uneven. I sometimes felt Amelia was a third wheel and that made me uncomfortable for her. But all in all, I liked the book. I really hope there is a second book for these three, I’d love to see how their relationship grows.
Amelia’s life was looking positive. She was graduating with a doctorate in economics, her long term boyfriend fit her perfectly and she thought everything was going exactly as it should. Except that her boyfriend’s mother hated her, she didn’t have a job yet, and her boyfriend accepted a job in New York City without bothering to discuss it with her. Oh, and that her boyfriend broke up with her. Amelia was shocked to think everything she thought was perfect was in fact not. An opportunity to travel to Scotland turned it all around for her. Her other door just opened and she can’t wait to walk through. I really loved this book. Scotland is one of my favorite places and the descriptions were great.
The book was great until the last chapter before the epilogue. We never get a resolution about her talking with her for boyfriend who wanted to marry her. There are no thought about how all three characters dealt with being so far about and why they did or didn't communicate with each other during this time. Also during the epilogue we are told the reason she finds the men where they are living is a story for another time! I really couldn't understand why this writer skipped over the last arc that would have made this book amazing, instead moving right to the end with no proper explanations.
This started out an incredible story.....it had heart.....but as it went along it got less and less....like the author was rushed and decided to let the reader fill in the blanks for themselves!! I really liked this story and was very dissatisfied with the last quarter of the book and especially the ending! You skipped eight months and had no explanation!! That sucked!! It could have been explained in the epilogue but it wasn't!! Lastly, the small chapter dedicated to David was stupid!! It had no bearing on the story because you never revisited it!!
In the end I wished I hadn't wasted my time reading an unfinished story!!
There's a few things wrong with this book (the writer can't count for a start, the action takes place around Christmas/January and yet 8 months later it's April??) There are gaps in the storyline that need fleshed out such as what happened between her and David and what happened to keep the men in Dalwally. The geography didn't work for me either, if she had to get a train, a ferry and a taxi to this fictional town of Dalwally then the area code wouldn't still be 0131 (that's Edinburgh). The linguistics of the two Scottish men didn't ring true. It needed more research and to the up loose ends but other than that it was a nice wee read.
I'm giving it 4.5 stars because I still want more! I really enjoyed the story and I honestly wasn't sure where it was going half the time which was a nice surprise. I really enjoyed the characters and I want to hear more of the story. As it is, it's a great story that you can read from start to finish in one day, maybe even on sitting. Because it's a quick read many parts just get a little rushed where I could see it becoming a novel! At the same time I do love going from beginning to satisfying end all at once. I'm a huge fan of Nicole Stewart and this one is one of my favorites.
I have been reading Nicole's books for years now and she has not disappointed me. Her books are sweet and seductive and has just enough drama to keep you wanting more. Amelia, Adam and Callum have a piece of them that completes each other and they build on that. Although it takes Amelia leaving to realize something was missing her returning home to wher her heart belonged was a beautiful ending. Now I am still wondering about David....
See I told you she'll leave you with drama making you want more. This is a must read book.
I really enjoyed this book. There are a few things I would’ve like to see different but overall it was good. Adam, Callum, and Amelia have so much chemistry and their relationship feels organic. Holy crap are they all hotness together. I’d like more of their story and the ending was rushed. There are questions that need answers and hopefully that will happen somehow. I’d recommend to those that love MMF books. I requested and received an arc copy of this book. I also chose to read again via my subscription. This is my voluntary, true, and honest opinion.
This is not the first Nicole Stewart I've read so I didn't read the reviews.
I should have.
The book all and all isn't bad, it's the sweet menage, sexytimes I was looking for, but the problem is it seemed like 3/4 of the way through the author decided it was over and wrote an epilogue. There are multiple story lines that are "wrapped up" in the epilogue, but only if you take it at face value. We don't know how her previous relationship wrapped up, we don't know what happened to the boys and why they made a final decision, we don't know SO MUCH and it just felt....unfinished.
This is more Amiela's story than Adam and Cullum and Amiela's story. The blurb leads me to believe it was a romance story about 3 people who love in love with each other and create a triad. However so far it's only been from Amiela's perspective. Aside from small chapter on David's POV. I don't know if it changes later on but I was almost halfway through the book still had no idea what Adam thought or felt, or who is character really was and. Cullum was barely in there. I lost intrest when chapter after chapter was only from one point of view.
I enjoyed the journey she goes on to find her true happiness. It was so clear from the start that David had no real feeling for since he could never bother to stand up for her with his mother. She was the missing puzzle piece to complete their world and they were what she did not know she was truly missing it she couldn’t live without them. I would love to know how they ended up back at the farm!!
Amelia's story starts out with heartbreak and then a trip to Scotland for research. Once there she meets Adam and eventually Callum. There are emotions aplenty as well as sweetness but also its share of spice without being explicit. Loved the dynamics involved and the plot line kept me enthralled wondering where things were heading with them as a couple or three or if Amelia will head home and reconcile with ex.
I really like anything by Nicole Stewart and this book is no exception. However, I didn't like this one as much as some of her previous work. I really loved the premise of the story but would really have liked more of the three of them together as opposed to their individual relationships. I liked the individual relationships but the story would have been more well rounded with more of the three of them. Overall, I really liked it.
