I grabbed this book from the library to help my 9-yr-old learn about cryptography for earning a a Super Nova Award in cub scouts. Out of the attack of books on cryptography for kids, this was the best. Both my 7-yr-old and 9-yr-old loved learning about each different code and trying to decipher the messages Lu and Clancy sent to eachother.

Such a great book. We checked this out from the library for my nephew. He loved it so much we had to find him his own copy.

So this was actually Lu and Clancy: The Vanishing Cat but I couldn't find that one on this site. This book is really cute. Along with the mystery included, the author also gave step by step instructions for students to do their own magic tricks. This is a good mystery book for 1st or 2nd grade.
