What a journey...each and every novel was so ingeniously researched and told with such honesty that I am in thrall to the author. They are so absorbing, each and every one, and so intrinsically weaved that I was literally sometimes holding my breath with all the mysteries being revealed. Whether real or not, they were the best read/ride I've been on for a long time. I was so caught up in these stories, I truly wish I could have been someone else and done other work in my life to value the world as Katherine Neville most certainly has. She is the best there is.
The worst thing I can say about these stories is that it is dangerous to start them. I feel like I did not sleep for days as I couldn't put them down. Every point I checked out to see if it was historically correct only added to my awe of Katherine Neville. I learned a great deal of history and geography from this read and my continued fact-checking. I'm not sure exactly where the fiction part really started, except I know that the author could not really be quoting conversations between people who lived centuries ago, and I know what I didn't find when checking.
I will definitely seek out other works by this author. I could also hope for an autobiography of a fascinating life.
