Hold onto your seats, folks, because "A Woman Scorned" by Jack Jordan is a book you won't want to miss! This thriller is packed with twists, turns, and enough suspense to keep you glued to the pages.

Meet Amber, a seemingly perfect wife and mother. But when her husband cheats on her, she doesn't just get mad – she gets even. Amber's quest for revenge takes her to dark places, revealing secrets and unleashing a storm of drama and danger.

Just when you think you have it all figured out, Jordan throws in a curveball that leaves you gasping. Amber is a force to be reckoned with. Her transformation from a wronged wife to a cunning avenger is both chilling and captivating. The story moves at breakneck speed, making it impossible to put down.

If you love a good mystery with strong female leads and unexpected plot twists, "A Woman Scorned" is the book for you. It's like a thrilling movie playing out in your hands, complete with shocking reveals and edge-of-your-seat moments.

Wow! If there’s a lesson to be learnt here, it’s definitely never mess with a woman scorned! This is an absolutely cracking psychological thriller!

Having loved My Girl by this author, I was dying to get my hands on A Woman Scorned. Considering this is a novella rather than a full-length novel, it really has a lot to give. The characters are well developed and the story is brilliantly plotted. Just when you think you might have worked out what is going to happen, another surprise comes into the mix.

This story holds more secrets than a teenager’s diary, and more twists and turns than a nausea inducing roller coaster. Brilliant. Loved it. Wish I could go round again.

Needless to say, I highly recommend this to fans of fast-paced psychological thrillers. This is one you don’t want to miss when you’re in need of a quick fix. Add this one to your wish list, folks. You won’t regret it.

A woman Scorned is published today (3rd May), and at the time of posting this, it is available on Amazon Kindle for just 98p. Go on, you know you want to.

A WOMAN SCORNED is a psychological thriller novella by author Jack Jordan. Having loved “My Girl” and “Anything For” by this author, I was so happy and anxious to read his psychological thriller novella,” A Woman Scorned”. I was not disappointed. All I can say is WOW! WOW! This may be a short story but it packs a punch.

When you plan to read this book, tell everyone to get lost! I was so involved in this short story that I resented any interruptions. Just leave me alone and let me read! I loved this book!
In this novella, the reader is presented with four points of views, with chapters identifying each point of view. We see four people all revolving around the same dilemma, all coping with lies, betrayal, secrets and manipulation.

Are you afraid?
You should be.

Amber: the wife, mysterious with a secret past, protective of her family.
Richard: the husband, successful, good-looking husband, with another secret.
Neena: Richard’s mistress and single mother trying to make a new life for herself and her child, blinded by love, banished from her family.
James: the gay neighbour and Amber’s best friend, will stop at nothing to protect the life he has fought to create.

This is a brilliant plot, with believable characters, all caught up in Lies, Deceit and Murder! Highly recommended…didn’t want it to end!

Hell hath no fury... like a woman scorned!

Many thanks to the publisher, Corvus for providing me with a copy.

Expected publication: May 3rd 2018

Warning! Do not read on Kindle while walking! You may bump into someone on line at Starbucks and get called an idiot Millennial!

Work has been stressing me out lately and I haven't been able to read as much as I wanted to. I just couldn't commit to something substantially long because my hours have been hectic beyond all reason. I was very excited after speaking with Mr. Jack Jordan about A Woman Scorned because I knew it would be a quick read and my friends Chelsea and Amy (shoutout to @suspensethrill and @novelgossip on Instagram!) rave about all his books. At under 150 pages, A Woman Scorned packs a punch!

The story alternates between four point of views, but it's so carefully organized that it never gets confusing. In fact, it shows the perspectives of four people propelled into the same situation. We get to see their inner psyche while watching them cope with a series of betrayal, lies, deceit, and manipulation. In this story we have: Amber, the doting wife and mother who has a mysterious, yet dangerous past; Richard, Amber's good-looking and successful husband, hiding more than one secret of his own from his beloved family; Neena- a single mother trying to find the perfect balance between work and play; and lastly we have James who is Amber's gay best friend that lives next door. We also hear a little bit from Amber and Richard's daughter Samantha, but her role isn't too involved. All four of these people are in limbo after a series of circumstance forever intertwines them.

Ok everyone, that's all you get! I'm not writing an editorial over here. I was so immersed with the story in A Woman Scorned that it began affecting my life. 1 hour of doing cardio (yes!), waking up in the middle of the night to create the perfect picture for Instagram @scared_str8 (yes!/no-I'm sleepy), and getting yelled at by people at Starbucks (bye!). If you're looking for a domestic thriller that gives you all the goods, I think you need to check this out. Seriously guys, I'm obsessed with Amber! ;)

A Woman Scorned will be released on May 3rd!

Warning: If you're looking for characters you can root for, then pass on this book

After the umpteenth betrayal and plot twist, I conceded the story was perfectly fiendish and laughed uproariously right until the very last page. What a delightful and wicked story. To the guys and gals who might be tempted to cheat: don't. And if you do, pray your spouse isn't remotely like Amber, our unrepentantly evil "heroine".

Amber has the perfect life ...well, almost. Her husband is tall, dark and handsome... almost perfect, except for his cheating ways. Her friend next door is a great friend, but not quite perfect as Amber is soon to find out.

Amber has secrets ... secrets that go back to her childhood. Nothing, but nothing, is going to stand in her way of getting what she wants.

And what she wants is the perfect life.

What a roller coaster ride! There are secrets and twists and turns within those secrets. Amber is one of the most terrifyingly scary characters I've seen in awhile.

For a short story/novella, the character development is great. I absolutely could not put this book down until I had read it from start to finish .. and then I had to stop and think about what I had just read.

Many thanks to the author / TBC Reviewer Request Group for the advanced digital copy of this suspenseful novella.

A Woman Scorned by Jack Jordan is a short story but don’t think for one minute that this means it lacks plot detail or character development. This is a hell of a short story that packs a very devious punch. If you haven’t read a book by this author yet here is a good place to start, as you get a feel for the authors writing. One thing I love about Jack Jordan’s writing is his ability to come up with a plot that’s refreshingly original in content and brilliantly plotted.

Told from four POV the wife, mistress, husband and neighbour each as a part to play in a story of lies, betrayal and secrets. Many psychological thrillers use these well used themed but the author has made them his own, by creating a throughly gripping story. As this is a short story I was surprised by how well the characters were developed, take Amber the wife for instance she’s cold, manipulative, but so intriguing, someone you definitely wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of! When I read a short story I sometimes find it difficult to drum up any enthusiasm for the characters, but that wasn’t the case with A Woman Scorned, In fact I would like to see a full length book featuring Amber.

Jack Jordan wastes no time in getting to the heart of the story and using the four POV was a genius ploy, as the reader you not only get a sense of each character but the shift in characters POV also heighten the tension as the story unfolds. As psychological thrillers go I was really impressed with how much the author packed into 123 pages, there’s suspense, bucketfuls of tension with a compelling and twisted tale that made me gasp out loud a couple of times. Reading this short story had made me really excited for the authors new full length novel Before Her Eyes which is published in August 2018.

If you’re a fan of Jack Jordan then you’ll probably agree with me that it feels like it’s been forever since the release of his smash hit My Girl. It’s been almost two years and I was SO excited to hear he was releasing a short story/novella this month and then a full length novel this summer! Let me tell you guys, it was worth the wait, normally short stories don’t blow me away, I’m usually not totally satisfied and am left wanting more. Totally not the case here, this bite sized treat packed one hell of a punch, it’s hands down one of the best novellas I’ve ever read.

This has four viewpoints, The Wife, The Mistress, The Neighbor and The Husband, just going by their titles alone I was alllll in. I mean, it alludes to a clear affair and the prospect of a nosy neighbor, there’s really nothing more to want for me. My biggest gripe with novellas is that usually the characters don’t feel fully developed and I’m left wanting to know more about them but Jordan managed to squeeze in an amazing amount of depth in 120ish pages, all four of the leads were fantastically drawn. Who knew you could pack so many twists and surprises into such a small window either, I cannot even tell you just how many times I was floored, seriously impressive and I never saw anything coming before it happened, bravo Mr. Jordan!

This couldn’t be more exciting and fast paced, I think I held my breath throughout the whole book and there’s just no way to read it in more than one sitting, it demands your undivided attention, a truly wild ride.

A Woman Scorned in three words: Thrilling, Twisty and Intense.

Man oh man, I love Jack Jordans novella's! I'm always at the edge of my seat and after reading My Girl I quickly became hooked and I'm happy to say A Woman Scorned was equally as addicting!

I loved the four POV's we were gifted with in A Woman Scorned. There's nothing more intriguing than that blurb above. I wanted to know why the husband was in over his head. I was itching to meet the mistress because we all love affairs when it comes to psychological thriller's. I had to know who the heck the neighbor was and I NEEDED to know how far the wife was willing to go.

If you love secrets, lies, drama and some twisty, dark writing then you will love this novella. Yes, it's short but it keeps you wanting more with it's well developed characters and the very addictive plot. A Woman Scorned is written so well and it's just waiting to be devoured in one sitting with all it's intensity!

If you are a fan of psychological thriller's then I highly recommend Jack Jordan! You'll love his darker writing style just as much as I do!

What a deliciously dark book this is.

Whilst only a shortish read with it being a novella, it had me gripped from the off.

The story is split into four parts, each being told in the point of view from each of the four characters. I absolutely loved this as it actually makes for some surprising reading.

I really had no clue in what direction the author would take me. With each part I was even more hooked and getting closer to the edge of my seat. It was like a ride on the waltzers, one minute you’re whizzing along only to be hurled into a different direction. I loved every second of it and couldn’t get enough of all the thrills that the author sent my way.

A Woman Scorned will certainly make you think twice about ever cheating, In fact it might even put you off marrying altogether! An absolute belter of a read by the author who just goes from strength to strength.

You’ve heard the phrase, “Hell Hath No Fury like a Woman Scorned”? (A proverb adapted from a line in the play “The Mourning Bride” by William Congreve.

Well, this DARK twisted novella (about 125 pages) is about a the lengths that this woman scorned will go to for revenge, told from the viewpoints of the four characters involved :

The Wife
The Mistress
The Neighbor
The Husband

Each part has some repetition (word for word) so that you realize that each part is actually happening simultaneously with the other parts, and also a new reveal.

I cannot say that I enjoyed it, (I didn’t) but the way the story is presented was clever!!

3.5 stars

Pretty sad when your most likable character is the Mistress! 🤣

I read this short story on my flight home from holidays. I really, really wanted it to keep going as I loved the story so much!

Don't mess with a woman scorned - and this is one crazy rollercoaster of lies and twists. Great characters, and for a short story we find out a lot about them. Can any of them be trusted?

Such a great book - thanks to TBC and the author for a copy to read and love!

So I’m slightly disappointed in this one. I wanted another Lana (MindFu*k series) and I feel like I got a woman who Lana would roll her eyes at, laugh at, and then show her how it’s really done.

Amber was a psychopath. Amber was warped. Amber was dark. Amber was malicious. Amber didn’t take kindly to being cheated on or having other people take advantage of her or her family. She has all the markings for a kick ass heroine who gets her revenge on her cheating husband. However she fell short for me. That shortness came in the form of Ambers motivation.

Whereas Lana wanted revenge, for a very good reason, and you could root for her Amber didn’t deserve the same understanding. Ambers only motivation was to have the perfect life. She felt she deserved better from her parents and when they didn’t comply she took care of them. She felt she deserved the perfect marriage, child, home, etc and took care of anyone in the way. She was the epitome of a “Stepford Wife”. If I felt Amber deserved what she wanted then I could have rooted for her but the simple fact is that she didn’t....

Plus there wasn’t only Ambers plan in the works. There were three different plans in place and in play - by different major characters - and that took away from the story for me. No one was a good person....except the mistress. Yes, I said the mistress was the only half way decent person in the book and she even walked the line.

So I’m summation...is it a good book? Meh...it was ok. Is Amber a strong character? Ehhh...it’s a matter of opinion. Was she A Woman Scorned? Yes, as her husband cheated BUT could you blame the husband? No... Should he have gone about it differently? Absolutely! Did Amber get was she wanted? Most definitely.

Finally...who would win if Amber and Lana were out against each other? IMO..Lana as she would simply end Amber before any games began. ( Lana wouldn’t tolerate someone with Ambers personality and would feel she was doing that world a favor...)

Wow!! This may be a short story but it certainly packs a punch. Amber is the woman scorned and you do NOT want to mess with her. She is not the only one with revenge on her mind though...

Highly recommend!

Jack Jordan is one of my favourite authors so it was like having a trip to 'excitement city' when he released a novella as I waited patiently for his next novel. The writing as usual is superb but this book is SO good that the pages flick by so quickly and, being a novella, the whole experience is over far too quickly. Yes, I'm a greedy reader and I want more Jack Jordan books! I can almost hear Jack's fingers whooshing over the keyboard...as my wishes do sometimes come true!

So...A Woman Scorned...wow! What a book, it is absolutely gripping and full of surprises. I certainly wouldn't want to cross this scorned woman! I positively whizzed through the book and although I wanted to savour every single word, I just couldn't read it fast enough. Jack Jordan has that knack of giving you just enough Hansel and Gretel crumbs to follow whilst also releasing the handbrake on the runaway train so you can't read it fast enough before the breathtaking conclusion.

Amber is one of those women that I would love to have as a friend but at the same time I would be frightened of saying the wrong thing to her. At the flick of a switch she can go from being the perfect wife to a cold calculating woman bent on revenge. I loved that about her though, how she gave the illusion that everything was fine when behind the scenes she was like 'I'll get you, you cheating b*stard'.

Having read as many books as I have, I did guess a little of the big reveal but I still enjoyed every single second of it. Nobody can write with as much drama and unbridled tension as Jack Jordan and if you haven't discovered him yet, I urge you to pick up, not one but, all of his books right now!

A Woman Scorned is an absolute belter; thrilling, gripping and completely riveting, you won't be able to put it down!

I chose to read an ARC and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Jack Jordan has successfully delivered this juicy, sinister gem of a novella to keep the fans ticking over ahead of his next full novel (Before Her Eyes) release in August!

Yes, the title isn’t subtle- you know you can expect revenge by a woman scorned in this story but maybe knowing what you get is that which pulls you in… A woman scorned is a beast indeed and I was prepared to grab my popcorn and witness the hell on earth with properly nurtured amusement! Sorry, ladies, and I generalize a stereotype here so don’t take it personally, but when we, women, are truly pissed off, we can be a special kind of mean! :D *ducks behind couch*

As we are dealing with a novella, Jordan doesn’t dawdle about delivering the first big revelation. Page 2 on my Kindle, in fact. Just boom- and the game was on! Here I have to confess!!! I feel like I underestimated the author because the direction the story actually went and the note it ended on was in actuality a Great Dane next to the Beagle puppy that I was imagining as I started this novella…

I won’t uber-analyze this story bit by bit… characters, plot, this and that. What matters the most here is that as a whole, A Woman Scorned is THE perfect story for anyone who wants to spend a thunderous couple of hours completely captured! Every element this story rides on, was perfect and purposeful and so darned deliciously dark!

Because I will tell you a little secret… this story is not just about a woman’s revenge! No… this baby hides so much more in between its covers! 😉

I really enjoyed Jack’s previous books, so I was super excited to be able to read an early copy of A Woman Scorned! And I stand by my hashtag, #JackIsBack, and with a bang!

A Woman Scorned is a short read, at less than 125 pages, so it was very easy to pick this one up, and not put it down until I finished it. It helps that it was a fun story to read too. Not fun in the usual sense obviously, but fun in the sense that it was a juicy little read.

I enjoy a domestic noir-ish thriller, but this one has a little more spice to it. The characters are multi-faceted, and we get a glimpse into each of them, which made it all the more interesting to see why they were the way they were, if that makes sense?!

Honestly, I would have read the hell out of this if it was a full book! I wanted more! But that being said, this is a little gem of a story. It packs a punch for such a short story, but it feels satisfying when you’re done. I really enjoyed it!

Yay! Jack is back! It’s been forever coming but this new novella from Jack Jordan is his first book since My Girl, which I absolutely loved, so I was thrilled to be able to get my hands on an early copy! And A Woman Scorned may be short but it is stuffed full of interesting characters and shocking plot twists which, when combined with a well developed storyline, grabbed me from the start and didn’t let me go.

The plot plays out over the course of one day as wronged wife Amber decides to take revenge on her cheating husband. And that’s all I am going to say! The twists and turns that follow are devilishly devious and I want everyone to have the same shocked reaction that I did so the less information I hand out the better! Just make sure you’ve got time to read this story from cover to cover because once you start it then you will have to finish it! It’s gripping, addictive and darkly disturbing with a heart pounding premise that plays out perfectly as the story unfolds. Just when you think you have it all sussed, Jack Jordan throws another surprise into the mix just to keep you on your toes!

A highly addictive and entertaining read that I have no hesitation in recommending. And looking forward to more from Jack very soon!

3.5 Stars. Another over-hyped story I have been waiting a long time to read. Don't get me wrong, it definitely had some fun elements and some nice, little twists. I kind of enjoyed how messed up everything/everyone was. But I expected something a little more explosive. The ending was really anti-climatic.

It seems like a lifetime ago that I was blown-away when I read My Girl, but even though it’s been a long wait for his new book, Jordan can take all the time in the world if it means he’ll deliver another phenomenal story like the one in A Woman Scorned.

I have no idea how to do this novel justice with my review but Jordan is such a master in writing amazing twists and turns into a story, it’s like I’m watching a David Blaine show. There are no frogs coming out of someone’s mouth just yet but let’s just say it’s a close call ;-). The whole story from beginning to end is delightfully twisted and I was surprised by new revelations with every new point of view. This was quite a rollercoaster read. It’s disturbing, frightening and so compelling that I really didn’t want to put it down. I couldn’t help it, it was just that good!

It’s no secret that I love my villains most when they look normal on the surface but calculating and cunning on the inside and you’ll know who you’re going to meet soon enough. It’s pretty obvious from the very start that Amber isn’t a woman to be toyed with. Only a few pages in and I knew she was a reckoning. Revenge is always a great motivator and when I met Amber and heard that she knew about The Mistress and kept it all in her pretty little head, well I knew she was dangerous, but how dangerous exactly? I was anxious and excited to find out :-). There was a lot more going on though, the story definitely doesn’t stop with Amber’s awesome yet disturbing introduction at the start of the story, far from it! Such fun to discover!

I only had one small disappointment, I wished it hadn’t ended so soon :-). Nah, I’m just kidding, the story wrapped up beautifully and I’m happy the way it ended!

If you enjoy psychological thrillers than this is a must-read so just go and read it already!

"Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, nor hell a fury like a woman scorned".
The wife, the husband, the mistress, and the neighbour.
4 points of view and an original plot with secrets, lies, drama and fantastic twists and turns.
All this in a short story of only 123 pages, but somehow the characters were still impeccably drawn.
I really enjoyed Jack Jordan's previous releases, My Girl and Anything for Her, and I loved this novella, which has me itching for his next release Before Her Eyes. An easy 5-star read!

This novella is a total gem for those of us who love a psychological thriller.

Amber is a woman that no one should mess with, she has fought hard to get the perfect life and nothing and nobody is taking that away ... that's as much as I'm going to say about the story ..but I can tell you that this is really, really well written, gripping, twisty and completely addictive.

Looking forward to reading lots more by this author.

Terrifying, Suspensful... Unputdownable!
If there is one lesson I have learned while reading this novella, it's that sometimes less is certainly more!

Despite the fact that Jack Jordan's latest release takes less time to read than traveling across London at rush hour, it has to be one of the most breath-taking reads I have experienced recently.

If you are looking for a book that will grip your attention, keep your heart racing from the first to the very last page and leave you utterly floored on the last page, you need look no further.

I was a little concerned when I heard that Jack Jordan's first book in almost two years was a novella. I wanted more already. I wanted to get lost in his words for hours and to stay in his intricate world until my eyes were too heavy to endure another page. I was worried that a novella would leave me wanting more. Instead, the only feeling I was left with was utter breathlessness and admiration.

Amber is not only a character you will love to hate, she is the kind of character you truly hope does not exist in real life. She is utterly terrifying. This cold, calculating vindictive woman is about to have her revenge on her cheating husband, and in a way you will never see coming.

Amber lives a perfect life, in a beautiful and expensive home that looks nothing short of immaculate to all those who view it from the outside. She is the wife next door with a beautiful daughter and successful husband. But one morning, as her husband kisses her goodbye to leave for work, Amber is plotting her revenge.

The book plays out over one fateful day from four different perspectives. It is a spaghetti junction style tangle of twists and turns, expertly driving you through the story at a pace that raises the blood pressure with each and every page.

I need say no more! For any woman who has ever wondered how she would handle the news of an affair or for any man who has ever considered straying... take heed... because as Jack so rightly says...

Hell hath no fury... like a woman scorned!

Let me start off by saying that I absolutely LOVED this author's book, 'Before Her Eyes'. I instantly adored Jack's story-telling and his need to truly thrill his readers. This book is no different, being just 123 pages, this is in fact a short story but it is every bit as gripping and brilliantly-written as full-length novels.

THE HUSBAND: in over his head with no way of knowing the truth.
THE MISTRESS: blinded by love, betrayed by her family.
THE NEIGHBOUR: will stop at nothing to protect the life he has fought to create.
THE WIFE: a woman bent on revenge, but how far is she willing to go?

Other then the fact that I felt greedy by the end because I wanted to read more about these characters, this read certainly didn't feel like a short story. There was no rushed chapters, no skipping information, just a perfectly-plotted dark read that kept me gripped from beginning to end. I really enjoyed reading the story from the point of view of all 4 main characters. Each had their own part to play and were riveting to read about.

Jack Jordan has become one of my favourite authors. He is truly a master at creating amazing stories and characters that are just so cleverly-written. With it's twists and turns and dark ending, this book is definitely a must read!
Can't wait to read more from this author!

A lovely fast paced short story with enough lies, deceit, and betrayal to keep you fulfilled way after your finished. I really enjoyed this.

Wow, what a read. I Enjoyed every page of this thriller, my only regret is that it wasn’t a full length novel, I wanted more.
