This was so worth the money! 😊

This series has so much heart and optimism in it that I feel better having read it. This reminds me why I love comics as a medium: it's hopeful. The contrast between (as Tomasi says) a boy who lives in the son and a boy who lives by the moon, makes for such entertaining storytelling. The reader is never talked down to, the story doesn't shy away from what Damian's been through. It tells a story about two kids who actually act like kids. They talk like kids, handle problems like kids and, most of all, they have fun like kids!

Jon keeps Damian light and gradually wears him down until Bruce (and later Jon) notice that Damian is more talkative now than he was before he met Jon. He doesn't spend all his free time alone in the cave or in search of new missions. He spends it "training" Jon. He's lighter, he's supported and, most importantly, I think he came to realize how nice it is to know someone out there consistently has his back. He went from being adamant that Jon couldn't be a Teen Titan to getting rather upset when the others didn't want Jon on the team. Jon became Damian's friend.

And Jon. Jon, Jon, Jon. He's my son. I love him so, so much. He's impulsive and passionate and optimistic where Damian is a steadfast pessimist. He's full of so much energy and power and has a harder time pretending he doesn't like being around Damian than Damian has being around him. He clearly loves Damian and pretty much worships the ground he walks on. Every issue was Jon being ecstatic just to be around Damian and doing his best to impress him. It's why the Super Sons of Tomorrow arc works so well: here's Jon looking to Damian for help when everyone else was willing to lock him up and Damian doing everything he could to protect Jon.

Their friendship is everything to me and I just love this series so much. I don't have anything else to add.

I really hope DC someday makes an animated TV show about these two. I mean, come on! It's a no brainer.

Take my words, the artwork is devastatingly cute!!!

Artists for further reading:
Jorge Jimenez
Carlo Barberi
Alisson Borge

Plus the writing is nice too, I really do like Peter J. Tomasi's stories.

"Lucky for us we got here before you boys blew up my cave."

"I cannot believe my life has come to a place where I have to say this...please step out of the dinosaur's buttocks. "

Let's do a breakdown:

(1) When I Grew Up: There are some dark things happened in the story, like a kid sadistically killing his family, which I like!

"You two look like Superman and Batman got married and had twins."

Jesus Christ! I can't believe all these ships sailing all over the place in this thick book!

But I don't know why Lex Luthor talked like he truly had never heard of Robin before? I can understand why Lex didn't know Superboy but it is still really strange for him to talk and act like he had never heard of and seen Robin before.

The main villain Kid Amazo seems interesting enough.

(2) The first half of Planet of the Capes looks like those 'monster of the week' thingy, but the second half that is really awesome and delightful enough! Plus Starfire and Raven have some really sweet outfits!

The Wizard Kraklow is pretty refreshing as a villain. But still Holy shit! in the middle of the story the artists changed hands from one Jorge Jimenez to one Carmine di Giandomenio!

(3) The Dog Knight

The story about Dynomutt and Blue Falcon is surprisingly sweet and enjoyable, I really love it...but then...funerals and close-ups of dead bodies? And at the very end, the story goes Reanimator on us? OMG that's quite endearing...

(6) Talia shows up! But why would she look like Damian's older sister instead of his mom!? LOL

"You're mother's child, all alone, battling through your darkness. Your pain. Just as I was raised."

So Mother's Day isn't so great after all...

PS: I noticed Green Lanterns aren't in this version of the Justice League.

(7) Last but certainly not least, after finished reading this thick book, I can totally see where all these Robin/Superboy slash ideas came from...^_^

Pretty fun book. My expectations were high after Tomasi’s run on Batman & Robin and the first few arcs of his Rebirth Superman, and it left me feeling it could have been better. It’s good but it could have been great. He’s still great at writing Damien and Jon is a good counter to his moody angst. The art here is also mostly great. I think my favourite arc was the crossover with the Superman title and Teen Titans, with the evil Tim Drake and Titans of Tomorrow.

I believe that this is the first complete oversized omnibus of the DC Rebirth era and this series also happens to be one of the most delightful. After they inevitably meet and team up in the pages of Superman, this series by the Tomasi and Gleason team further the adventures of Superman's son, Jonathan Kent and Batman's son, Damian Wayne, the latest Robin. It's so enjoyable because they make such a great odd couple, probably even more so than their fathers, as they are juvenile versions of their fathers' personalities. Jonathan Kent has all the good-hearted-farm-boy qualities of his old man, but is still a bit wide-eyed and naive, while Damian, one of my favorite newer characters in the DC universe is a no-nonsense ex-assassin who is full of himself and thinks that he's smarter than everyone else, but will never stop until he feels justice is served. He's such a little shit but he's got a good soul and I love him!

I enjoyed all the adventures in this easy-to-read series: where Jon auditions for the Teen Titans, the boys fight Kid Amazo and an alternate future Batman, but they also have to grow as friends and help each other with their own individual problems, like Jon's developing powers and Damian's deadly past coming back to haunt him.

The banter between these two completely different boys was pure gold, with Jon's super-optimism bumping up against Damian's cynicism. It was also adorable seeing them grow not only as friends but as a crime-fighting duo. This also works as a great companion to the two Rebirth Superman titles (it starts around Superman #10-11, which are included here in this book). More people need to read this and here's hoping that DC keeps this team going in the future.

This series was fantastic. Jorge Jimenez's art style reminds me of early Howard Porter especially during his time on JLA. The story is fun, hilarious at times and exciting. The themes of friendship, rivalry and legacy are prevalent throughout each story arc which consist of longer arcs and one and done issues. Hopefully the follow up series (ADVENTURES OF THE SUPER SONS) lasts long enough to be collected an omnibus to pair with one.

This is worth a read for anyone interested in Damian and Jon or fans of the teen titans.

This book's strength is the great camaraderie between Jon and Damian - their banter, squabbles, and budding friendship all ring very true. The art is strong throughout and the dialogue is strong. The plotting can be a bit loose at times, but it's easy enough to roll with if you enjoy seeing Jon and Damain's relationship develop with as smartly and funnily as it does. The Blue Falcon chapter could've been left out - it didn't do much for me, but the Super Pets installment was a blast and a treat.

I read this Omni and decided to buy it. It was too good to not reread. I laughed out loud so many times my wife had to ask me what I was laughing about. Fun interplay between battles. The kids are portrayed as kids with very special abilities. I really enjoyed getting to know the boys.
Totally entertaining from start to finish. I highly recommend it!

I never want this to end! I wanna know what kind of adults the Super Sons will grow up to be! Clark and Bruce draw so much of who they are as superheroes from their childhood experiences/ traumas. I’m dying to see Johnathan and Damian develop as partners 😍😍😍

Loovvee this series!! Both Damian and Jon are such fun characters and I'm so sad the series got cancelled. But if you've been hesitant to read this series I highly recommend the read just to see the dynamic between Damian and Jon. 10/10

Jon! Read it for Jon! And then stay for the moody little conceited shit that is Damian Wayne (who is seriously competing with 90’s/early 2000’s Tim Drake for the top spot as my favourite Robin)

This is such an amazing series and I’m sad it ever ended.

This is my third time reading this and of course, it’s still just as amazing!! It always leaves me wanting more at the end - even though it’s already a huge book to begin with! I’m not going to spoil anything, but the character development in the book is awesome!! Read it if you haven’t!! 😊❤️

This book is just pure unadulterated fun, DC should publish more comics like this.

The only tiny negative was I just wish Phil Jimenez had been the artist throughout the whole book.
