What an action-packed story! Wow! I couldn’t put it down. I was pulled in from the beginning and read straight through. Nick is Alicia’s bodyguard, a former Navy Seal hired on due to some problems her father has gotten himself into. He is the perfect alpha male character: strong, smart, sexy, funny, fierce, bada*s, stoic, sweet in his own way, I could go on and on. Alicia grew on me. I liked her in the beginning when she defended herself in her home, and then became annoyed by her teasing Nick and flaunting herself; it felt a bit immature. Like, your life is in danger but sure go ahead and prance around. There is a turning point for her character when the reality of everything really hits home for her, and that’s when she started to grow on me again. This book was so entertaining and I highly recommend it. I only wish there had been an epilogue, but that’s just a personal preference.

Alicia Graystone, a twenty-four year old New York heiress, is sitting alone in her luxurious apartment one stormy evening when her skin begins to prickle and she cannot rid herself of the sensation that she is being watched. One creak, then two... and suddenly Alicia is fighting for her life. Thanks to a few well-placed kicks and a fire alarm, she barely manages a narrow escape.
Nick Harden, a former Navy SEAL and highly sought-after personal bodyguard, receives a summons from Alicia's father, the billionaire mogul Warren Graystone. Nick decides to take on the assignment of becoming Alicia's bodyguard, even though he discovers that her father has caused all of these problems due to his greed and shady business dealings.
Nick and Alicia begin fighting a strong attraction to one another from the moment they meet, and it is only made worse when Alicia's father packs them off to his mansion on the beach to keep them hidden and safe. Alicia's boredom causes her to act out- both in rebellion against her father's mandate that she not leave the house, and Nick's stubborn refusal to acknowledge their attraction. Tempers flare and attractions grow, but once a leak is discovered in the security detail, will anyone make it out alive...?
I really liked the way that the book began. The sensation of feeling watched is so creepy, and it was a good set up for the story. I liked the initial encounters with Nick, and how he outlined his personal rules and philosophies for being a good bodyguard. The sexual chemistry between the H/h seemed good, and I liked the way the author let it simmer for a bit before she gradually turned up the heat.
Sadly, I think the story started to fall apart for me once Alicia got bored. This 24 year-old began having tantrums worthy of a middle-schooler about everything- from eating alone, to Nick doing his job, to not being allowed to attend a beach party. Hmm... heaven forbid she should stay on lock-down... because someone is only trying to kill her! *Sigh* Whiny, bratty heroines really ruin a good story for me.
Nick was a pretty decent hero, although I also struggled a bit with how easily a 6-tour Navy SEAL hero could so easily toss aside his training and discipline for someone who was most likely at least 10 years his junior, acting like such an awful brat. (I had visions of Veruca Salt dancing in my head.) I just never really saw why he would fall for her, since it seemed like their attraction was solely a physical one. There weren't really a lot of heartfelt discussions that made me believe they were falling in love.
The villain of the story did seem plausible, although a bit convenient. Props for a good fight scene at the end though!
I thought that the story had some good points, but overall it just didn't quite hit the mark for me.

Wow! What a wild ride. From start to finish, Kelly Parker's "Bodyguard: A Protective Romance" sure has his work cut out for him trying to keep the woman of his dreams safe from her Dad's enemies... even as an insidious person works against them from the inside. This book packs a serious punch.
I was gifted an ARC of "Bodyguard: A Protective Romance" by Kelly Parker. I enjoyed her writing, & I gladly recommend this book to others. She's an author I'll be looking forward to reading more of in the future. All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given.

Just go with the flow and don't expect fireworks!
If you ignore the one glaringly annoying Faux pa
and the multiple silly irritations ,one can go with the flow to joy the chemistry between the H and h and the action and suspense. However,nearly stopped to write an early review after the author had built this enticing slow burn of sexual anticipation only to fade to black when they do finally consummate the sizzle. Astonishing. It's not like this was meant to be clean because there were plenty of details in the foreplay. Until we get to the act itself which is glazed over completely
leaving the reader .....well,as I said astonished.
There were several weaknesses in the plot and with the hero and because I still believe the story is worth the time ,I will let you identify them ( and you will understand that my reference to fireworks is a double entendre)I do request that if Kelly is going to create that amazing sexual tension in her romance storylines that she please follow through and refrain from leave us hanging in frustration!

HUT THE GROUND RUNNING!!!
This is a hit the streets running tale. Kelly didn't let the dust settle on this superstar. You want me to sit here and tell you exactly what everyone's stamping out. Not happening. That's not me. Nope. That's not me everyone read the blurb. I can tell you what a kickass action packed read this is. Or I could probably repeat what everyone else is saying. No. I don't know what they're saying. That's their views not mine. I can tell you Kelly has 2 speeds with this one, fast speed and hard hitting from the word go. She struck hard and she struck fast. This author is going to be the one to watch. Her characters, scenes and all the realistic descriptions has the frontline. She's not borrowing someone else's script. Not on this read. She's the real deal. She did an absolute amazing job showing her talent and bringing out the badass. I can't wait to see what she has up next. Fantastic plot that ran smooth as silk without a wrinkle or a flaw. She made it look so effortlessly like it just rolled right on through. Way to go Kelly on such a remarkable job.

She is fun and flirty in her attempts to get Nick to lighten up & get with the program - acting on their obvious attraction.
While Nick manages to maintain his control, their chemistry combusts (finally!) as the danger to Alicia comes to a head.
Overall, I loved this book by Kelly Parker! The storyline, characters and resolution (HEA) are all well developed. Nick is a panty melting alpha and Alicia is his perfect fun, flirty and brave match.

Her father got into something he shouldn't have and now people are out for revenge and trying to get his daughter. Alicia goes stir crazy hiding out in the Hamptons but the minute she makes an appearance in public gun shots ring out. Nick is having a difficult time keeping professional with Alicia and she isn't making it easy on him. Will Alicia finally claim Nick as her own? Will the threat to Alicia be dealt with so she can go back to her life?
This is a great story and is very entertaining I couldn't put this down once I started. The chemistry between Nick and Alicia is sizzling hot. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I love bodyguard romances and Kelly has done a superb job with this one. What a captivating, action-packed romance! This story was so good I read throughout the night but it was worth it. Nick is an hunky, ex seal assigned to guard Alicia after an attempt on her life. Alicia is the only daughter of a wealth man who has gotten himself involved with illegal arms trading. He is working with the FBI so his life as well as Alicia's is in danger. The chemistry between Alicia and Nick is scorching hot but Nick is determined to stay professional. “Bodyguard” has all the elements for a great story, a gorgeous body guard, a beautiful young woman, hit men, deception, danger, suspense, hot hot sex and sweet romance all leading to the HEA. This is one book you MUST READ!

The overall plot was different and interesting than the normal former military turned bodyguard. Yes, I didn't like the fact that Alicia kept teasing Nick after he made his rules known. What type of heroine would she be though if she had abided by his rules. She's never get what she wanted. She did come off a little naive while they were trying to save her life by insisting on going out that one particular night. Her dad was wrong in keeping her in the dark about what was happening. In the end, everything worked out and they both got their HEA. I thought Nick's character was well-developed. Alicia's needed just a little bit more work. The chemistry between them was hot and both were easily relatable.

Life could be less exciting after being a SEAL, but Nick couldn't have predicted where his assignment as bodyguard' to Alicia would lead. An absolutely thrilled, action-filled romance, the dial gets turned up all the way to 11, 12... practically gets snapped off. Nick and Alicia have incredible chemistry, and I love the early scenes of getting g Nick to relax. He's a total BA, and it's a lot if fun between him and Alicia. I love getting to know the characters,and see them and their relationship grow. Amazing writing, lovely romance, and highly recommend for sure. This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.

Well, Nick is my newest book boyfriend. He's an ex Navy Seal and alpha all the way. Gorgeous in every way, but very professional and a great body guard. He is hired by a top business mogul to protect Alicia, his daughter after he makes them a target. Alicia is a little spoiled and immature and continues to try to seduce him. Lots of drama and danger as she barely misses a bullet and they are whisked off to a safe house. Lots of drama and suspense, betrayal, a friend who is a mole and chemistry that's off the charts. No spoiler here, but you'll love this book. Well written with lots of suspense and page turning drama. I read a reader copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.

Steamy read! These two characters had a lot of chemistry. I loved how Alicia was strong and willing to do what it took to help while in the line of fire. I loved how Nick was determined to protect her at all costs and then how when he decided to give in, he went all in. Good read!

Nick is an ex navy seal now a bodyguard he never gets involved with his clients until her. Alicia’s father Warren Greystone hires Nick to protect his daughter while he tries to sort out his own troubles, when Nick meets Alicia he is instantly attracted to her and he tries not to show Alecia that he is. Alecia tempts him like no other woman does and when she dances in front of the window in her teddy, well she makes it so hard for him. I loved this story and I was glad that Alicia was a down to earth girl and not a spoiled princess like you would expect her to be, great characters and I really enjoyed reading this story. I highly recommend this book it’s well worth the read.

OUR HERO has been hired as bodyguard for our heroine whose life is being threatened no thanks to her father's underhanded business. Unfortunately she has no idea why she's being targeted and that pisses her off. Their chemistry was sizzling from the start and both were beautiful characters in terms of physical traits. Personality wise, both were strong, knew what they want of themselves and compromise well. Their relationship was based on communication and that is key.
OVERALL this story was enjoyable while it lasted. Short and sweet if you're looking to pass the time with a bodyguard troupe.

Loved this book about a young woman who needs a bodyguard because of trouble her father had gotten into. And ex-SEAL Nick is the perfect Alpha to be assigned to her: smart, funny, caring, but unattainable because his number one rule is no personal relationships with his clients! But when Alicia is locked up in a house in the Hanptons, going stir crazy, nothing stops her constant come-ons. But Nick's training serves him well; he has complete control of his facial features and Alicia will never know the effect she has on him! This book is full of action. You won't be able to put it down!

This story gets your attention from the first chapter. Action packed story with a whole lot of heat. Alicia is in danger because of her dad. Kept in the dark about why she is in hiding is driving her crazy. Then the attraction between her and Nick, her bodyguard is so hot. Nick wants Alicia from their first meeting, but he has rules. He never breaks his rules. I really enjoyed this book. Lots of action and lots of smoking hot heat.

This story captivated me from the first to last chapter. The action begins right on the first page. This bodyguard has really a lot to do. He has to protect the woman from her own fathers enemies. That turns out to be full time job.
Absolute a story filled with drama, danger, revenge, love, passion and incredible chemistry. The characters are well described and likeable.

Bodyguard is every bit as suspenseful and sexy and sweet as you could imagine. Nick was just about perfect in that sensitive but alpha way. Alicia had her moments, sometimes totally awesome, other times very immature. But the heat between the two was intense. There are twists and turns throughout this story making it very hard to put down... so just don’t.

Alicia’s and Nick’s story is one full of suspense and love! I loved every single page and I couldn’t get enough.
Alicia’s father hired Nick to protect from a group of mobsters that her father turned over to the FBI. From the first time a spark flew between them but Nick tried to fight it. Eventually he lost the fight!
A very nice and well-written book that it’s totally worth your while!!

This is an action-packed read and I enjoyed every last page of it.It was a super read with a really good storyline.Nick is an ex-seal and is Alicia's bodyguard, she is in danger because of her dad and is fed up with not knowing what is going on.The attraction between these two was immediate and they had tons of chemistry but he has rules and will not cross the line but that does not stop Alicia from tempting him to break his rule again and again.A super read I really liked it

I received an arc copy of this book. This was a fast paced book that I didn’t want to put down. The main characters had an attraction right from the beginning! She is an independent young woman with a lot of fire in her belly. He’s an ex Navy Seal with a strong set of rules for himself. He’s determined for them to fight it and she’s determined for them to give into it. His love for her is what drives him to do anything to protect her from the bad guys that are after her because of her father.

Nick is a man for a woman to love and Alicia is a woman who doesn't like to be told no. When her life is in danger, her father decides to hire a bodyguard. That's where Nick comes in. Can they keep their hands off each other so he can keep her safe or will they go over that line and put her life in more danger? This is a good read that will keep you interested till the end. Enjoy

Alicia the warrior princess and the object of the mob to off, is introduced to Nick, a sexy, hot and dangerous seal and now a bodyguard reported to be the very best. It's immediate infatuation on both sides even if its against Nick's rules. There is intense action not only in the bedroom but from the mob.

The Bodyguard is a well written, fast paced, action packed read. It's a fantastic story filled with suspense and steamy scenes. I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend it. I received an ARC for an honest review.

A fantastic suspense, action packed romance that you will devour. Nick and Alicia have combustible chemistry and their storyline was well written. Kelly Parker did an amazing job writing these characters and the storyline. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

It's not often I will give 5 🌟 but this was awesome, it's fast paced, action packed, steamy and with danger, I loved it, for me it was unputdownable, I couldn't get enough

This is a great romance read. The storyline is well-written with action, adventure, steam and defined characters who are likable and relatable and have great chemistry. I loved it. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

Hot book from the start. The couple on the book cover were posted perfect for this wonderful story. She was over the top hot for him from dat one and played coy little games to mess with his head. it was definitely an engaging story and she is a lucky girl. Steamy.
