I picked a remote location at random off a map and bought a ticket to my new life, hoping I could forget the man I’ve left behind, but I’m about to discover that a guy like me can’t outrun his problems.

A brief encounter with a beautiful stranger has my head reeling again but I fail to understand that this is no ordinary town, he’s no ordinary young man, and I’m in much greater trouble than I could ever imagine.

This is a short read, not sure if it goes into a series. I need to check that out.

It’s dark, it’s completely compelling.

So if you turn your back on something or someone, does that mean you are running away?
And do you believe that you’re past will come back and haunt you?

This is such a great book, well written and just what I needed for a different genre for a while.

This was rather interesting short story that explored what if concept. Two men who have been hurt before find themselves together exploring a possibility that Fate is real, that some things are meant to be. I liked X but was a bit reserved about Tom, although I enjoyed reading about them as a couple. The ending is a bit abrupt but since there is a sequel, it's not too upsetting. A very curiosity inducing novella. I recommend it.

The cover, the title and the blurb too is so foreboding. It turned out to be a heartbreaking; quite interesting little story. I loved the idea behind it, but... hmm. I don't know!

I guess it wasn't bad, if I just kept reading and reading...

Biting, sharp writing

Great novelette. Short, quick, biting, at times witty. There is angst and mystery and a twist or two. X is for Xander, and for this book, it means a new path, leaving behind a bitter past for the main character. Keep an open mind. This isn’t a typical HEA romance. With that approach, you’ll enjoy the story more, in my opinion.

My first read by this author but certainly not my last as I’m jumping into the sequel as soon as I write this review.

This was a great read. I went in not knowing anything about the story and I’m glad I did.

A short quick read but a good one. A few times I stopped to think which is always a positive for me. Expect the unexpected while reading this.

A new author for me. I had no idea how to rate this..this is certainly different to anything I'd read. The start had me into this, by the halfway point i didnt know what was happening but a few clues along the way and it clicks in what the story was about. Yah I'll be grabbing the sequel Tom ta see how it plays out.  Hot sexy scene with chemistry before things get werried but I recommend for you to keep reading. I'd class this story as a pre-fated storyline. HFN ending.
Running away from a horrible break up on a bus trip with storms raging. Malpas was the destination but Tom doesn't get there. At a bus station he mets a stranger X (Xander) but the he somehow knows him.

X makes reality out of imagination if heard

Tom has to find his way in the midst of confusion and dreams of unreality. Things do not seem right, but yet there is familiarity without fact. The mind is an amazing place to be lost in, but so is the world outside your head. The X factor may be all you have to cling to in the end.

Great short story...

If you're looking for a short interesting read, then this book is for you. It starts out a little weird and at first I thought this was a paranormal story but about half way through it becomes obvious what's happening. It's beautifully written and after reading X I went on to read Tom.

Would recommend to a friend.

You have now entered the twilight zone.

The story was okay but I think I would of liked it more if I would of liked the characters. You don't really learn what's going on until about 60 percent through and while it was interesting the story was too short and the characters too under developed for me too recommend.

An amazing short story, loved it! It was rather mysterious for a while and then suddenly BAMB! It all fell into place. X is a sweetheart trying to calm an angry Tom and explain gently what has happened to him. There is a sequel called Tom and I’m off to read it now.
