I’m not a good man. Not even in your f*cking dreams. I find my peace at the bottom of a bottle. The sound of gunfire is music to my ears. Years in the Army Rangers made me into a lethal weapon. My club, the Kings, keep their fingers firmly on the trigger. Just the way I like it. There’s only one time in my life where I thought different. It was with her. Selena. And her kid. Her jagged edges fit my broken life like a perfect match in a jigsaw puzzle. Soul-shaking sex, dangerous curves, and a wicked smile -- no one else has ever measured up. With her, having a family didn't sound like such a stupid idea. Then she left me face-down with a bullet-wound. Now she's back and says she needs my help. I know she’s in danger, but something's got her too scared to say it. Half of me wants to kill her for leaving me. The other half’s ready to rip the head off whatever bastard’s threatening my woman. And when I catch wind of what they’re threatening to do to her kid, I’m ready to go on a f*cking rampage. Taking her in is like mixing fire and gasoline. My club’s under serious heat from a bigger gang and I'm on a mission that could make or break us. One mistake and we'll all be dead. But nothing makes sex hotter than the cold threat of a gun barrel.

I'm a romance writer, currently traveling the world, seeing all that it has to offer, and probably drinking a little too much wine.

I like striking stories. Romances, UF, PNR. Stories about men that move you, heroines with spines of steel, and villains that make your bones quake. Add in some sexual heat and a HEA, and that's what I try to provide.

A messed-up single mum and a broken, ex-military biker - it's bound to be a match made in heaven

Hazard is the third book in Zahra Girard's Wayward Kings series. These are fairly gritty, unsanitised MC reads that, whilst interlinked, can all be read as stand alones. This is an author whose work I have previously enjoyed, with the Wayward Kings being, in my mind, some of her best. Bear and Ozzy were both well written and entertaining books, but they had quite a different feel to each other. So whilst I looked forward to reading Hazard I wasn't quite sure what I was going to get. Particularly since I didn't read the blurb (which I'm pleased about because it actually gives away quite a lot of the plot!)

Jarrett and Selena have history, but she disappeared on him without even a backwards glance. So what is her motive for suddenly turning up in Jarrett's clubhouse? Will a man who uses anger and alcohol to mask the effects of severe PTSD persuade Selena to stay around? Is a woman who can be as selfish and devious as Selena worth keeping around?

One of my pet peeves are those 'perfect' characters you get in some books. Those smooth, cultured, well dressed, successful heroes and the tall, beautiful, sexy and clever heroines. Jarrett and Selena couldn't really be any further from perfect. Jarrett spends a lot of his life in a drunken haze, looking for trouble as a way to ease the pain. Selena is a single mother with a less than sparkling past and a self-centred streak a mile wide. Somehow, despite having some unpleasant traits, I found the pair immensely likeable and most definitely believable.

We do get a brief chapter covering Jarrett and Selena's initial meeting, but most of their history is recounted as stories or trips down memory lane. I quite liked this method of filling in the backstory. Probably more so than had it been done by jumping backwards and forwards in time. We know that Selena is hiding things from Jarrett, so another positive was the way this information was slowly revealed throughout the book. It kept the tension without it becoming irritating or the only focus of the plot.

The pace of this book easily held my attention and there are some unexpected plot twists that also kept me engaged. I really couldn't guess what direction the story would take and readily devoured every word.

Whilst there are a couple of sex scenes, these aren't particularly graphic. However the MC aspect of the book does contain some quite violent scenes, as well as illegal activities, so please bear this in mind when purchasing this book. If you like a good MC romance then this fits the bill really well.

The MC Wayward Kings’ story continues and this one focuses on Jarrett aka Jinx and then aka Hazard. We have met him in the previous books, the singing biker and now we get his story and what a doozy it is. It all centres on Selena, a tough woman who has a son she will do anything for, including running out on the ones who want to help her, in this case it was Jarrett two years ago. She’s up to something and it isn’t good and it will take Jarrett to finally get through to her but will he do it in time ?
A great read with steamy scenes, humour, betrayal, lies, secrets, some suspense and action that got the heart rate going up. I loved Jarrett and felt for all he has been going through, his severe PTSD, drinking and getting betrayed by a woman he fell for hard. Selena took a while to warm up to, she was selfish, crass, two faced and not a good woman. The only thing she had going for her was her son and though I could understand why she did what she did, there were plenty of times I wished Jarrett pulled the trigger on her. But what a story that comes out between these two, a story that had me glued to the pages and even through some of the worst scenes there was humour that had me chuckling while cringing at the same time. A gritty story and not all hearts and roses between these two, but it works.

I absolutely love this MC series. These guys are as rough and sexy as any MC, yet they're also heroes in the truest sense. Hazard, the third book, is a second chance romance with so much steam and so much more heart. The author paints a picture so vivid it's as though you're feeling what they're feeling and living the story alongside the characters.

Jarrett and Selena are so perfect together, even though it's difficult to see past all the hurt and pain from the past. Current circumstances throw them together, and it's a perfect storm that forces them to confront their deepest feelings and find a way to fight for their HEA. All this and more involves our favorite MC club, the Wayward Kings. Since this is the third book in this series, we're already heavily emotionally invested in this club so everything just seems that much more intense, more gritty and raw.

It's a wonderful story set in an amazing series. If you like MC romances with flawed but swoon-worthy heroes, you'll want to one-click this book and devour every page! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

A MC romance story that is so much more. Amazing use of words and the writing style captivated me from the first to last chapter. The chemistry and passion flows of the pages. Storyline and plot is great. The third in the series but it can be read as a standalone.

I like it is written in dual POV, which gives the reader both the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. That makes the story even more emotional and captivating. The twists and turns are so unexpected that they made it worth the read. A story that is an emotional roller coaster. It is of a great length.

A story about confronting your painful past and letting it go to get your HEA. It has drama, danger, protectiveness, trust issues, heartbreak, love, passion and hot chemistry in it.

Hot and sexy read with a hint of more.

Gritty indeed

First of all, based on some of the reviews I just read, I can't believe I read the same book. If this book Hazard was first in the series I would not have purchased the other two. Jarrett, Jynx, and Hazard at the end of the book, too many names. He suffered from PTSD, was an alcoholic but most of all had crummy taste in women with his relationship with Selina. She was just plain bad news! Left him for dead in Reno, took the $100,000 Jarrett gave her and ran away! Two years pass she comes and begs him for help and a place to stay. He gives her that eventually. Can't believe he did that!!

This is an intense and gritty MC romance. Filled with sizzling chemistry and powerful emotions, this book is areal page turner. The dramatic storyline and hot romance are blended beautifully together to create a very entertaining and pleasurable read. Jarrett and Selena share baggage from a painful past. Will this time they get a HEA? I'm posting a totally honest, voluntary review after reading this book.

Great!

I chose this rating because this was a pretty good book. I really enjoyed most of the characters. This was a book of protection for and caring for someone you love and doing anything you can to get them back. And this person happens to be a little child. So you know that's by any means necessary. But Jarrett and his crew got on the ball him and The Wayward King MC this was a pretty good book. I recommend this book to all romance readers and MC lovers.

Her books hit that spot for me.
I have voluntarily read and reviewed Hazard by Zahra Girard.
Hazard was full of sexiness, love, humor and action.
Some may be bothered by the detailed aspect of the action scenes. I loved it! I could read this book over and over again.
I highly recommend this book.

3*
Selena met Jarrett 2 yrs ago when he helped her out of a situation only to ghost him.
She’s back but why now? She’s the only one who calms him but once bitten twice shy right. What really went down when Jarrett took money from his mc club years ago? Will they ever get the truth?

Review

Well after a few good stories in this series we've hit rock bottom with this one, if there is something I hate it's liars, selfish people, and all around sneaky worthless people which is what our little heroine is she literally has no saving graces and when you can't like or identity with the characters the book is worthless.

Another great story

Wow!! Jynx to Hazzard. Selena what a sad mess. Sweet baby Jake and the redemption of motherhood. This book was great. PTSD, kidnPping, white slavers, and David Bowie impersonators. And multiples buns. That's how funny Zahra is.

Cant say any more with out telling there whole story so ONE-CLICK NOW to find out if there a HEA or leave what they had in the Past go there separate ways.
