Seriously, can you not though? Life is hard, everyone sucks, blah blah blah. Swearing (and drinking) helps, and so does this book, a charming collection of illustrations that actually say what most of us think every day—so freaking over it.
I laughed at “trynna get my shit together but” because due to the stylize font the words ‘my shit’ looked convincingly like ‘my ship’ and I thought that could be a clever joke on the phrase. This and it was followed by “I’m freaking over it”.
Some of the art was good, and I liked some of the references but a lot of the content was not to my taste. I like Amy Polher, I don’t care for Amy Schumer.
Managed to finish this book in one sit. Beautiful illustrations. Although this book is quite basic (that’s the point of it), some quotes are impactful and relatable. I just needed to remind myself that I borrowed this from a local library so I didnt tear the pages apart. A strong urge to put all the illustrations in a frame and hang it on my bedroom wall.
Some of the layouts were fun. However, to be so critical of idiots, this book encourages a lot of idiotic behavior. If you don't like idiots, don't be one.
Although I wish there had been a little blurb on every page that wasn’t illustrated, it was about what I expected and it was a very quick cute read when I was stuck killing some time and decided to go to the library.
I mean... everything is not the worst. A LOT of things are the worst right now though. So yeah... this may be the book for our times. Have we tried turning 2020 off and back on again?
An aesthetically pleasing illustrated book about just saying how you feel when it's not allowed to be said. Each illustration is created by different artists that I look forward to supporting
Filled with gorgeous illustrations, funny anti-inspirations and quotes from famous people, this book is a collector's dream. I read the book through my library's Overdrive subscription and would like to buy a physical copy if and when they are available in the market.
