With the memory of their losses fresh on Hayley and Quark’s minds, they head for a meetup with one of the only individuals in the galaxy who might be able to help them handle the coming storm. But the enemy always seems to be one step ahead of them, ready to intercept at every turn and forcing them to make even more sacrifices along the way. When they’re put at a crossroads of trusting someone they don’t or not trusting someone they do, they’ll only have one Lay everything on the line, soldier up, and double down. ------------ Double Down is the second book in the science-fiction Justice of the Covenant series. 1. Triple Threat 2. Double Down
M.R. Forbes is the author of a growing number of science-fiction series including Rebellion, War Eternal, Chaos of the Covenant, Stars End, and the Forgotten novels. Having spent his childhood trying to read every sci-fi novel he could find (and write his own too), play every sci-fi video game he could get his hands on, and see every sci-fi movie that made it into the theater, he has a true love of the genre across every medium. He works hard to bring that same energy to his own stories, with a continuing goal to entertain, delight, fascinate, and surprise.
He maintains a true appreciation for his readers and is always happy to hear from them.

Hands down favourite character: Quark. That man is brilliant!
This is so much better than Hell’s Rejects. At least it is for me. All due to the characters. I really like Hayley. She’s likeable, whereas I couldn’t get into her mom, Abbey. And Colonel Quark is the spark in the middle of the fireworks.
“Good man-bear,” Quark said. “I like your spirit.”
I also like the visor AI, reprising the only character from the original series that I felt anything for. Gant, the freak-monkey.
The AI chittered like a drunk squirrel.
But is there only one more book? Or is this set to be a long series? I’m not sure which I’d prefer: a quick ending or more time with these characters.
2 steps forward👣👣 1 step👟 back, or is it 1 step👟 forward 2 steps👣👣 back? Our Heroes🐺💪🔫🗡💥 have to get rid of this unarmed luxury vessel🚀 they are traveling in So they go to a hidden space station💫 to make a trade. Of course everything goes to h*ll when they get there! Shootum up🔫🗡💥 space opera!🚀💫🌏 I got this e-book from amazon with kindle unlimited.
A few new characters to keep the story going at a "faster than light" speed. The villains are still awaiting their due, so I'm starting the next book at 1 in the morning.
Non stop action as Witchy, Quark and the new Riders rampage round the galaxy, chasing bad guys, discovering new baddies and generally entertaining the frag out of the reader!
Like the series I used to read as a child. Fast paced, action packed, with twists and turns that keep you turning the page. Leaving you breathless. Bravo!
Another great installment in the series. I was impressed with how easily the new characters blended into the team dynamic and it made me laugh in places.
The second in the Justice of the Covenant series and Hayley, Quark and Tibor are on a mission to find the Rider that betrayed them and to have a little word in their shell like! Whilst at the same time stopping the Nephilim and Thetan following through whatever dastardly plan they've come up with now.
They enlist the help of some new Riders along the way, some are short lived, some seem to be excellent additions, they meet the Nanites in a new form and things generally go to hell. Avergae day for a Cage and her friends.
A fast, furious and fun read(well listen in my case), a great addition to this incredibly violent universe.
