An easily digestible read that offers up statistical and scientific backings to the modern malaise of loneliness. Topics are kept light and generalizations are made, with tongue in cheek commentary peppered in here and there. Sure, the ideas presented could be taken as what's likely to affect us or tips that seem to apply to the overall population, this is definitely not the be all end all to explain away the very individuallized condition of feeling lonely and mental health. I wasn't a fan of the constant anchoring back to the theory of evolution, and basic assumptions that make essentialist views of society seem the default way of living. Otherwise, it's a pretty fun read that offers a few viewpoints about why we still feel shrouded in a bubble that isolates us from everything around it, even when we're in a crowded room.
