Sometimes the universe takes everything away… Sometimes it gives back in unexpected ways. Tally is perfectly content living her life on Belle Island and running Magic Cafe. She has all she’ll ever need or want. At least all she’ll let herself need or want. Eddie Williams returns to the island, searching for answers, determined to meet the son he never knew he had. Neither will get what they want, but maybe, just maybe, they’ll get more than they planned.
Kay Correll is a USA Today bestselling author of sweet, heartwarming stories that are a cross between women’s fiction and contemporary romance. She is known for her charming small towns, quirky townsfolk, and the enduring strong friendships between the women in her books.
Kay splits her time between the Southwest coast of Florida and the Midwest of the U.S. and can often be found out and about with her camera, taking a myriad of photographs, often incorporating them into her book covers. When not lost in her writing or photography, she can be found spending time with her ever-supportive husband, knitting, or playing with her puppies - a cavalier who is too cute for his own good and a naughty but adorable Australian shepherd. Their five boys are all grown now and while she misses the rowdy boy-noise chaos, she is thoroughly enjoying her empty nest years.
Return to the Island: Lighthouse Point Book 5 is by Kay Correll. This book deals with second chances as well as spousal and child abuse. Unfortunately, even abuse hits the island. Tally has little time for herself so she takes what moments she can. She takes little time to keep her memories away. These are memories even her best friends, Susan and Julie, don’t know. As she is walking back, she sees smoke coming from Susan’s inn and rushes to see what needs to be done. Luckily, it is only a grill fire and is contained quickly. It does, however, put the kitchen out of order for a while. This means Julie’s wedding cannot be held here. As usual, Tally provides the answer, the wedding can be at the Magic Café. That means a little more work for Tally; but she welcomes it. Later, a visitor shows up at the Magic Café and totally surprises Tally. He is Eddie Smith (now Edward Williams), her former boyfriend. Eddie has been gone from the island for over forty years. Now he is back! He has just heard about his son and wanted to see him! What is Tally going to tell him? Courtney and her son Bobby show up at the Magic Café much like Julie did years before. The only thing Tally can do is hire her, provide a place for them to stay, and find a minder for Bobby since he isn’t in school yet. Will this turn out like Julie’s situation did or will it turn into trouble? This book is full of action and suspense and questions. The answers are surprising.
I love the series. I am also a huge fan of Kay Correll. I am a bit surprised that this hasn't been mentioned before because of the overlapping interest groups, but this story is way too similar to "A Christmas Secret" by Donna VanLeire that was made into a Hallmark movie with the big reveal on who the characters are and how they are related. When Courtney holds on to the stopwatch and talks to her mom I already knew who she was. While it isn't exactly the same, it is too similar to feel like a coincidence as it is very specific in the reveal. The other books in all the series I give 4-5 stars but for this big glaring issue I can't. I won't stop reading the other series she writes and I adore the sweetness of her novels, but this one deserved better.

I waited to get to the last book in this series to give a review. It is a series full of cute stories, some of them I might even think deserved 4 instead of 3 stars... however here are some issues and why my rating is mostly 3: - each couples story is a bit complex, and most of the books dance around their past(s) for a long time and quickly resolved all the issues in the last 15% of the book - the first book starts with Julie’s story then it lingers through 5 more books not adding any real value to the her story or romance. After the second book I was bored to hear she was still dragging her foot, and the results in this book was very anti-climatic - characters seem to be introduced just so a new book can be added (perfect example is Sammy added as main character in book 4 and mentioned only once in book 5) - other side characters/couples seem to plop in, not add much to current stories and leave you wondering for the whole series what their purpose was (eg Camille & Mr Hamilton; Paul & Josephine)
Kay Correll introduced new characters and interesting plot twists in her sixth book on the Lighthouse Point series. The history of Tally’s family and her youth come to light in this book. As always, the author’s story quickly and easily unfolds keeping the reader invested in the residents of Belle Island.
Tally's story was absolutely heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time! I absolutely loved getting to know Tally, and why she seemed like the mother hen of the group. If you've been waiting for Tally's story, you will not be disappointed :)
Where to start. Susan found a puppy list during a storm. His name became Storm and he found Bobby who was hurt and brought Eddie right to him. Just a simple beginning about Belle Island. A twist of events that will keep you reading!!
Kay has been able to bring the lives of Belle Island together in all her stories. The lost love, and secrets are finally uncovered. Families are united and love wins out
Tally was happy with her life on Belle Island or was she really? Tragedy from her past comes back into her life along with some people with their own secrets. Can she reconcile what was with who she is now?
If you like happy ever after books this is a winner
I recommend this eonderful, heartwarming series about three women and how they love, support and protect each other. I picked this series because I like to read books with happy endings.
I absolutely loved reading this series! I have it 5 stars due to the fact almost all the characters have a happy ever after. I love the style of writing Kay has. Hoping to read all her books! Her books are great and so are her characters.
I loved this story. It had so many parts to it that were weaved together just perfectly. Tally finally gets her happily-ever-after, Courtney finds her long lost grandmother, and little Bobby totally steals the show with his energy ad his down to earth reasoning that only a 5 year old can do.
Oh another wonderful read. The author is amazing with just pulling you in and it is so hard to put the book down. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.
This series of books are excellent. The events and description kept me thoroughly captivated. I think happy endings and great begins are just marvelous
The most delightful ending to this series. When you read this, and read you must, think family. For at the end of day, or a book, family is what mAtters.
