How fun it was to see book 1.5 come out and see that it was about Jake the werewolf! What a great concept for this series to break up the 4 dragon books with side-characters of other types of shifters!
This was a very fun and quick story, not to mention very steamy with a sexy alpha wolf. Jake leads the werewolf crew in Lance’s domain and has been in love with Belle from the moment she entered the crew. The problem is that the wolves don’t know who their mate is until they sleep with them. He can’t imagine taking Belle to bed and finding out she isn’t his mate, so he’s been keeping her at arm’s length. Fortunately for them both, Belle has no intention of letting that happen.
I received a copy of this story from the author and have provided a review of my own accord.

I was sent a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Anything with Milana Jacks name is guaranteed to be great and this book was no exception. I'm meeting Jake and Belle for the first time as this is the first in this series I've read. Jake is an alpha wold shifter who has been in love with Belle forever. These wolves can't detect their mates by smell - they have to have sex (boy, what an excuse). Belle comes into heat and is going t go off with someone else but Jake decides to stop that. Even then he's loathe to "do the deed" in case Belle isn't his mate. He's scared that she won't be his mate and then the friendship they have could be permanently damaged.
I thought the story a little short, but still thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommended read.

Jake is the alpha of the wolf pack that stays with Lance on the island. Belle is the sweet wolf that really wants Jake. In this series a wolf does not know his mate by scent, the only way to know is by having sex....yeah, that’s quite a few partners right there😉. Jake is afraid to test a mating with Belle because he wants her as a mate, but is afraid she isn’t. He keeps putting her off, then she comes in heat and is about to go with someone else before he pulls his head out of his butt.
Short and safe read, just references to his past before Belle. Sorry, no epilogue, just an hfn.

The alpha tries for a mate
I love this! The entire time I was reading the previous book, I was hoping for Belle to get her alpha. At the very least that he would try to mate her and not send her away. This is a quick, but intense story that you are going to love! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

This couple was introduced in book 1 as side characters.
Mild angst due to Hero in denial. Hero afraid to sleep with the heroine because he “doesn’t wanna break her heart.”
(You see this in Book 1 of this series)

A short tease of a story, that’s very well written, with all the Alpha growly he man hunk stud muffin style that this author absolutely excels at. Quick short, to the point. Looking forward to the other books in this series.

Honestly, this was short and sweet and cute. I was a little too short though, I really wish there was more to their story than this but I’m not complaining, it’s a HEA. Loved Jake and Belle, makes me want to read more werewolf stories.

loved this short so much. thank you for giving us Belle and Jake's story. I wish there was more just because I really enjoyed these characters, but the way you closed it was perfect. cant wait to read what's next.
