Spinner has been dumped by Darcy for his cheating ways! But with God as his witness, he promises to get her back no matter what it takes - including resisting all manner of temptation, all summer long. When arch-nemesis Jay Hogart offers to help, Spinner finds himself torn between "good" and "evil." Which one will win out?
Considering what Liberty's been through recently, it's no wonder she's spending her summer vacation moping about. Her parents suspect post-partum depression, but something else is weighing on her mind. Could Liberty be planning a desperate move?

I was so excited for this one due to my religious trauma and such I really enjoy seeing Spinner during the jesus phase where he isnt bullying Marco but is still pining after Darcy and kinda not sure how he really feels about the bible crap but this was a snooze!! I think my favorite part of this is Jay pointing out that Spin is being a hypocrite about stealing music. Liberty's story is important but its kinda just a parallel to Spinner's like they're both just pining over their exes which I guess is why the title is Missing You. I just wouldve liked a bit more action. Otherwise no complaints ; love the artwork.
This graphic novel gives an inside look on Spinner and Liberty during the summer. Spinner is trying to make it up to Darcy and Liberty is dealing with giving up her son and still having feelings for JT.
The art was interesting and pretty easy to tell which characters were who. My only real gripe is that the art sometimes goes into the stapled part of the book, making it difficult to read—needed more of a margin there.
Story wise it better explains Darcy and Spinner’s interaction on the show after Bible camp. It was somewhat amusing that his “guardian angel” was formed after Paige. I liked how Kendra got a cameo. The characters were pretty spot on in this and I enjoyed the humor.
Overall this was a fun addition to the Degrassi series.
okay hey i expected worse tbh. Liberty plot was good. Spinner plot was mostly just okay but it's fine they could put Spinner in any situation and i'll watch/read it like that's my son idk. better illustration style than the other degrassi graphic novel i bought (and have yet to read) - however i will say they did Jimmy dirty as hell like they seemingly just drew a black man and said "yep ! that's Jimmy !" like no actually that is just some guy in a wheelchair. whatever,,,,,,,, it's fine i guess,,,,,,,, it's really not though. really made my head spin that a girl called Spinner a himbo in this like this was published in 2007 i was under the impression that himbo was new slang. anyway idk all in all it's just okay. maybe it would've been better if i was a middle schooler reading it but alas i didn't get into degrassi until the big age of 21 so. here we are.
I don’t get it… the writing is so terrible. The illustrations are as if someone described the character’s physical attributes to the artist who had no picture as reference. The references are so out of date - even when Degrassi TNG aired (I mean I know who Amy Grant and Aimee Mann are, but do you think Hogart and Spinner Mason do????)
Jay’s tone in the book was decent though. At least the author had that down.
Besides that, I’m glad I have these for my Degrassi obsession/collection, but these 4 books were absolutely rubbish.
The Liberty plot was great and would have preferred the whole storyline on her/JT or at least more. The spinner plot was boring and maybe it's because I don't like Darcy. But this has been my least favorite of the series so far.
The third book in the Degrassi: TNG Extra Credit series takes us into Spinner and Liberty's worlds. I really like how this book shows what happens to Spinner over the summer so there is a bit of explanation when the new season starts and if he is or isn't back with Darcy!
I think this might have been my least favorite of the books illustration wise, some of the facial expressions were not really detailed enough and some of the wide shots were way too cartoony for me, it made for a disrupt in the story.
Overall though, another fun installment in the series!
