I enjoyed reading these books-entertaining. I little different twist on some supernatural. Has all the relationship drama and a lot of action as well. You just have to get past the occasional misspelling, poor grammar choice, & a few forgotten details that change within the books.

I have been provided with a copy of Raven Series: The Complete Collection by the author for an impartial review. This box set includes White Raven, Black Crow, and Soul Symmetry.

White Raven

This is the first book in The Raven series and it was a great way to start off a series. In this book you get to meet Piper and her brother who have been sent to live with their grandmother after a tragedy happens. It was interesting to see how they would handle being away from their familiar settings. I really enjoyed this book it was interesting to see what was going to happen with these characters and how they were going to handle situations that would arise once the truth was out about what was going on in this town. I really enjoyed seeing the interactions that took place between Piper and Zane there back and forth was hilarious at times and I can’t wait to read more about them.

Black Crow

This is the second book in The Raven Trilogy and it picks up right where we left off in the first book of the series White Raven. I absolutely love this series it just drags me into its world and doesn’t want to let me go. This book just had my emotions all over the place. I just got sucked into the characters lives and I can’t wait to read the conclusion of this series.

Soul Symmetry

This is the third and final book in The Raven Trilogy and it was an awesome conclusion. It just drew me for the last time into its world and it just didn’t want to let me go. I didn’t think I could fall anymore in love with Piper and Zane but I was proved wrong with this book my love just expanded even more for these characters. I’m sad to see them go and I can’t wait to read other books by this author.

3.5⭐

Supernatural world where Reapers cull or shepherd the unruly spirits of the dead.

Someone is killing the banshees, the royals amongst Reapers, and has opened the gateway to the spirit world. Hordes of angry spirits, or Hallows, are attempting to destroy the world, and only the last banshee is capable of restoring the Ballance.

Piper is clueless about how to be a banshee, but she excels at being a mouthy brat. She rails against authority at every turn, and what seems like an annoying weakness at first, turns out to be her saving grace. That and her inner hopeless romantic. Love actually does conquer all.

I did enjoy the HEA, but it took patience to get to the end. I skimmed a bit as it here and there, only reading the dialogue.

Fantastic series

I really enjoyed this series as it flowed seamlessly and it remained interesting through each book. My only criticism would be the use of the suffix “tard” in one of Piper’s insults in the beginning. As a parent of a child with special needs I cringed when I read it. I know not everyone has experience with this so I am hoping maybe the author will be more aware of the negative connotations that go along with the R word and it’s suffix in the future. Otherwise this quickly became one of the better series I’ve read recently and can’t wait to read more from the author in the future.

I decided to review these as a series as that is how I read them.
This is not your Normal paranormal book. I was pretty surprised by the supernatural themes in this story. This story starts out so normal and human. I really wasn't sure where it was gonna go. As the plot begins to evolve, I love how the author wove the drama into the characters' days and events. Most definitely a different read for me, but so far, I am enjoying it. This book so didn't go as I expected. One truth bomb after another to lead the reader down an unexpected path. I won't give any sneak peeks or spoilers as this one you just have to read for yourself. The love, desire, and heartbreak are so well written to get the reader connected to the story. After I got over the new paranormal in it, the romance story with the twists really came to life. I caught myself gasping, shocked, crying, and wanting more.
Wow!! This second of the book is captivating. The characters' struggle, decision, and growth are all well covered. I really enjoyed how the author mainly focused on Piper's point of view. Her conflict and emotions are apparent to the reader. One minute you are swooning the next, you are crying. This female character really strengthens in this book. I love how she became her own person, different yet strong. The people in her life still played a part in the story and still assured her and her scattered thoughts. The love story between Piper and Zane is tragic but oh so enthralling. I'm so excited to see what happens next with the characters, the decision, and the conflict.
The third book is surprising! This book is interesting as the veil between humans and the paranormal is exposed. Can she save the world? The war and evil in this book are fascinating. I love that our heroine Piper is stronger than previous books but still unsure of herself. The author did a great job of building the character and adding to her paranormal powers. I really loved how much I don't know even in the last book in this series. This book wrapped up perfectly no cliffhangers, minus the blood, gore, and tons of paranormal talents. It was a great romance with lots of action and adventure.
I would say this is definitely for a mature audience due to the nature of the series.

I bought this book sometimes in March i want to say when. Whenever I finished reading twilight and I needed other books to read that reminded or had that chemistry like Bella and Edward. I must say i can add this book to my favorite book list to read again because it was just that damn good (excuse my language). You can in ways I’m a hopeless romantic but a good romance book will always have a place in my heart and make me feel some type of way.

I cant remember when I started this book, but I can say I finished it in about a 1 and half week span. It was so intoxicating and I could hardly put it down. Every time someone interrupted me, I was lowkey dying inside to get back to the book to read what was going to happen with Piper and Zane.

I just love how in the beginning they hated each other guts but by the second and third book; they just couldn’t help their love for each other. Piper being the biggest romantic ever but always using her hard core shell and sarcasms to protect herself is one of my biggest problems. Some parts made me see Piper as myself because I’m sometimes answering questions with sarcasms and I just love it.

I hated the part where Zander die and when Parker shows up on the island, but I’m also glad it happened because Parker was what Piper needed. She was always thinking so much about her home and the past and how things could’ve been different. Feel like the lesson for me was that no matter how hard you keep looking in the past to try and tell yourself or ask yourself the ‘what if’s’ questions. Always know that the past is the past and the most you can do is embrace it and focus on your present and future. No matter how much has change everything happens for a reason.

I have a different book cover from these two covers, maybe because it's Amazon prime read (Free).
Book #1: White Raven... This was so good. Piper & her brother T.J. went to stay for summer with a grandmother she has not met, and piper is sassy and angry until she come across Zane from the first sight, she got it bad, for this bad boy, but it turned out they were destined to be together. Everyone has kept Piper in the dark about who she really is, until toward the end she got to see who she really is, everyone wanting her dead, but Zane oh man Zane. Now the sad part is Piper has been promised to marry Zanes bother, and it was done when she was a baby and just found out. Her soul though belongs to Zane. (Soul Mates). This is a sexual tension, few kisses, Love/Hate relationship, and promises from Zane to protect Piper until death. Reapers of all kinds are now after Piper because she is the Last of her kind. The White Raven. (Banshee). Off to the book 2 Black Crow... Piper & Zanes crazy story. I pretty much highlighted the whole book 1... Let's see where the action takes me now... Recommend. Death, swearing, friend & family... Gina (I will be back on book 2)

Great

********STOP spoilers ahead******
I liked this series. The pace it great. Loved the characters. Has a sense of mystery. The book Soul Symmetry felt rushed. At the end you truly didn't know what was happening. One minute the FL was stressed to the max and then bam a relic that no one has a clue about come out of nowhere and it's all over. It happened way to fast even the FL was lost... But I did enjoy the books and the characters together after all the push and pulling. Not really a series I would read again unfortunately I'm only one of many out there with different opinions. I think I will try to read more from this author though. I Never give up on someone just because I don't like the way something goes. This is only one series of many in the sea of books out there so I will continue to read your work!

White Raven

This is usually nothing I would read but it was very supernaturally I liked about it. It was intriguing and different and made me read more and more until I couldn't put it down. It also helped my interest by mentioning my favorite show and character in the show. So good job J.L., you made a fan out of me.

Black Crow

J.L. Well had me hooked once again. So sadden about Zander but this was just as amazing as the first.

Soul Symmetry

I really enjoyed this. Had more detail information and added more of a twist to who was really up to destroying her. Also loved how there was more of a familiarity to the White Ravens and how they got started with an ancient artifact to help close the veil of the living and the dead.

this was such a great cant-put-down type book series. Poor Piper lost her mom, technically her dad too, and moved with someone she never knew, her grandma for the summer..where adventure begins...one being with the best looking Hunter boys. With the descriptions, I would find it hard to choose between Zane, Zander, or Zach. I would also like to add Crash into the mix. The author really knows how to create good looking male characters.

Piper took to her unknown responsibility rather quickly, with the responsibility she already had to her brother and her bff Parker. So much adventure. Drama. Romance. love this book. Reread material right here

Good little read

It wasn’t amazing but it was t bad. There were some parts that didn’t seem super fleshed out. The love story was sweet. The main character could have used a little more development especially when she started training I felt like we didn’t see that development but instead were just told “some time has passed, I have learned stuff.” But over all it was okay. The third book was rushed at the end and dragged in the beginning. But overall it was entertaining and I didn’t hate it.

Raven Series: The Complete Collection

The series was a exciting and a pager turner!! I couldn't put it down, I enjoyed the writing of the books and was excited of all the fun filled action, love, power, thrill seeking, and so much more.

I was also so amazed at who helped save the world at the end!!
I loved the love story and was so heart broken over some of the deaths in this series.'

I definitely recommend this series!!! It's a must read 😊

Reapers are good too

I loved the story line. Zane and Pipers soul resonating and the council forcing Piper, the White raven, to marry someone else. The author was so good at describing situations I felt I was right there experiencing them. The main heroic did complain way to much, “I can’t do this” “this can’t be real” but I understand why, because it shows she wasn’t raised like other reapers. She was raised human.

Loved this series! Not my favorite J.L. Weil series (that’s why it gets 4 stars instead of 5), but it was still incredibly fun to read. I think I read all 3 books in less than 36 hours. I loved the relationship between Piper and Zane, although Zane could be a prick at times. The side characters were just as good/developed and helped move the books along. This series offered many twists and turns and kept me on my toes. I wish I could read more, but the ending was fantastic.

These books were hard to read. I did not like the writing style. It was written from the perspective of a teen girl and the language was as such. Lots of slang and “textlike ” writing. There were many parts which were not thought out, stories that didn’t follow through, ect. I would say it would be a fun read for a teen, but there were making out and sex scenes throughout. Not super graphic, but not something I would want my teen to read.

DNF- 65%

I just couldn't get into this one. I tried. It is VERY slow going and the story line just doesn't grab you. I kept waiting and waiting for some suspense and real romance... and it just never really came. The war is mentioned several times but it's like it's an afterthought and not the main issue of the book. The rest is just friends/boyfriends and their day to day. Boring.

This series takes you on an amazing ride

J.L. Well outdid herself with this awesome series. It's a wild ride and one you won't want to miss. It's filled with suspense, drama and if course some Hot Reapers. This book is awesome from the first page I didn't want to put it down, the characters are amazing and written to perfection. Grab up this series you will not be sorry.

Great YA UF series

I really enjoyed reading this series. It's easy to fall into sync with the characters, and the basis of the plot is solid. Get ready for a lull free series ideal for YA and adult readers alike that enjoy urban fantasy with reapers, werewolves, unrested spirits and humans in this thrilling set of books.

Such a great series. I loved the way everything worked out and I hope that in the future this author decides to write a series set in the future when Arabela is an adult and coming into her powers. I love following people through a series of books so this definitely appealed to me. I'm very much looking forward to reading the other selections available from this author!

Definitely recommend!

Piper and Zane’s story was one of constantly overcoming obstacles together. They had everything against them from the beginning then things got worse in the world around them. It’s a love story mixed in with saving the world as we know it. It has a great mix of family and friends along with love and loss.

This series has it all!

Love, hate, laughter, tears, and the, often forgotten, fact that if a person wants to change from their heart... it is not impossible. I felt as if I were there. I, literally, shared their emotions. Thank you for sharing your gift! Can't wait for more! Please!?

Immature Main Character

The main character was frustrating and very immature, even for a YA novel. I wanted to finish this collection, but struggled through the last book as the story development stalled out. Then, suddenly, all loose ends were tied together in a nice little bow in the last 50 pages... Most seeming to come out of nowhere due to the lack of story development.

Book 1

A charming read!

Dreadful lies...
Unexpected love...
Impossible truth...

This was a good, charming read that captivated my attention.

It was a good story and as such I will finish the series just so I know if there is a good ending.

Full of reapers, crows, ravens, banshees, death, love and family.

Perfect for readers of paranormal romances.

Book 2

A good read!

She's lost so much...
Family....
Her home....
And her identity...

It was a good, interesting read. Withsome drama and action.

I liked it enough to finish it but don't really care enough about it either way.

Full of reapers, crows, ravens, banshees, death, love and family.

Perfect for readers of paranormal romances.

Book 3

A banshee..
A death reaper...
Love transcending...

The main characters deserved their ending. Although I felt everything was too simple including the war - so short.

Full of reapers, crows, ravens, banshees, death, love and family.

Perfect for readers of paranormal romances.

This was a little childish for me.

I didn't finish the first book. The insults and comments of the main character are just too immature;
ay caramba, douche knuckle etc.

There are some great reviews here so hopefully it gets better, however I don't think I'll be investing the time to find out.

Mhhhhh

I don’t know why but I really just didn’t love this series. It was just ok for me. Didn’t love the language. It was a bit much for me. But beyond that I just couldn’t connect with it. It dragged on for me.

Very enjoyable great reading

I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters and how they came together. I am glad that everything worked out for Piper and Zane but it was sad when Zander died he didn't deserve that but he gave piper he's powers.
