I never thought life would end up this way. Everywhere I go, Boris and his little crew of Russian mobsters are there. Watching me…controlling my every move. Reminding me what will happen to my family if I slip up or try to run from them. Thank god for Alexander. Something about his strong, confident disposition and dashing good looks makes me melt like butter in his hands. He makes me feel like there is still a chance to get out of this place. I hope he knows what he’s up against though, Boris is not about to let his top talent just walk away.
Alexander:
Years of hard work has provided me with a life where I thought I had everything. A multi-billion dollar company that continues to grow and flourish. The freedom to go where I want. People looking up to me, and women wanting to be with me. I was content, so I thought. Then I met Katy. What is it about Katy that makes me think about throwing it all away just to be with her? I hardly know this girl. Like a beautiful bird, caged up by this mafia scum. The more I get to know her the more I understand I must do everything in my power to set her free. There’s no backing out now. They better know who they’re up against.
The mysterious Alex shows up in a bar where the workers are controlled/owned by the Russian Mafia. He feels an instant attraction to the Bartender, Katy and once he knows her story her tries to help her escape. I very much enjoyed this storyline but feel we never really learned who Alex, where he got the training he exhibited and what attracted him to Katy where he felt he needed to rescue her. I almost hope this was a pre-quell where the story will lead to a sequel where we are given more information about Alex and Katy. All in all, I loved the book and hope there will be more to come.
I was given an ARC I exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
This is the first book by Ava Bloom I’ve read and it was a nice easy read, not to long, it’s a sad story with a HEA in. We meet Alexander and Katy two very different people but just seem to click together. The sad thing is though Katy is property of the Russians with dreams of getting out, then thinking it would happen until Alex shows up. This story shows how to people can have a connection when they are so different, I really enjoyed this book.
Arc review for honest review. The Helena handbasket in Florida is run by the boyevike Russian mob and Katy works for Boris but when Alexander comes in he can help trying to get her away from him . Cute
