This broke me a bit!! Much more so than the others that I have read by this talented author. I loved this from start to finish. I cried buckets over this and I'm still a tad heart sore. This world draws you in and doesn't let you go! Cora was an absolute fave. Her spirit was just so beautiful! Calida was fierce and yet such a softie! I so wanted to see her attain her happily ever after. I liked Kade and he totally redeemed himself in this book. The last book he was quite the dunderhead even though his heart was in a very good place. I loved how these two came together. I love Ms. Shanniak, her imagination and scope of emotional depth is a very deep well. I would leap to read anything written by her. I loved how she brought personal experiences to this!! Makes this all the more touching. 💕💕💕💕

Calida's Forge will pull you in from the first page. I haven't read any of the other books in the series, but I definitely want to after this! Calida is strong and caring and the perfect heroine. Reading this was like stepping through a portal to Castre and watching it all unfold. If you like strong female leads, and enjoy stepping back in time, then you're going to love this book!

I think most people can relate to wanting to run away and start over sometimes. Tugged at my heart strings for sure! Wonderful read.
