Elizabeth Duval lived the life most women would dream of - until she made the mistake of falling for a stable hand on her parent's estate. After he runs off, leaving her to deal with the whispers and gossip of Ottawa society where appearances are all that matters, she is ready for a new start. And Miss Hazel knows just the place for her to start over.

Aaron Fuller didn't really believe he needed a wife. As a Mountie stationed on beautiful Prince Edward Island, he was finally able to feel like he was doing something good with his life. When the other Mounties send for wives, his commander sends a letter for him too. Even though he isn't thrilled about the prospect, he will honor the commitment out of respect for the man he looks up to.

What neither of them expected was the surprise that would be waiting for them when Elizabeth stepped off the ferry in Charlottetown.

Can they overcome the lies and mistrust to make their marriage work? Or, is it too late for them to have the future they hoped for?

Elizabeth grew up in a decent home and was attracted to the stable boy, but no one would hear of it. He left with no word to leave her heartbroken and gossip. The man she was supposed to be marrying married her sister instead more gossip ensued.

Aaron was an orphan after his parents died then his grandmother. He got a great job that he loved and then had to leave. He thought the woman he loved would come with him but she never showed up. A man helped him become a mountie and now he is looking for a bride.

When Elizabeth and Aaron meet they can not believe their eyes. Was this some kind of trick? How did Miss Hazel do this. Can these two forget the past and love again?

I loved this story it was fast paced and the characters were well done. I did not put this book down once I started it was that good. I love this series and some books are better than others. I have to say right now this is one of my favorites. A book well done.

I was disappointed in the story honestly. It was short and doesn't have all the elements a story needs. I was mostly told in the story and not showed. It was a cliche of a story too. The only interesting part was the flying squirrel and even that ended up being overused when the squirrel saved her from being kidnapped.

Furthermore, the price listed on the search page of Amazon is not the same I was charged for - simply because I'm in a different country. And I finished the book in 2 hours, which I can never do when I read a novel so by then I realized it wasn't a novel at all. It's not worth paying $3.44 for a novella.

Second Chances

I have loved all of these books. Each book builds on the previous story but can be read as a standalone.
Aaron and Elizabeth were matched by Ms. Hazel because she was aware of their past acquaintance. Needless to say they were both shocked when she stepped off the ferry.

I liked seeing how they were able to reconnect and learn from their past experiences. I liked that Elizabeth was happy and free in the small town. Aaron was also more than happy to grant her the freedom to be herself.

Great story with a happily ever after.

Nice Story!

This series has 4 authors. Each set of 4 stories moves to a new location with a new set of Mounties. Now we move east to Prince Edward Island. Miss Hazel brings her new brides to meet their Mounties. As has been typical, there is a wild animal, this one is a flying squirrel named Rocky. Another element connecting each set of stories is a mysterious sometimes criminal activity. Each Mountie has a different experience with the mysterious activity but it makes the series enjoyable.

Perfect story especially for #Hearties

I absolutely loved this book. I’m a big fan of the author, but it was the first one in this series for me.
I thought I’d just read a few pages & wound up reading it cover to cover last night. I can’t wait to read more! What’s better than young love, tragic separation, and surprise reunion with a Mountie leading to happily ever after? ❤️

This book was very sweet and gave a look inside what the Mounties were doing at that time they
we’re isolated to a degree and the women that signed up to be a bride had to be brave. I like it very much and was a quick read.
