Regan was twenty years old and still confused with her relationship with men! She liked their adimration and kissess, yet she hesitated to be her boyfriend's - leo's - mistress when he asked her to go with him. She though she only hesitated because of her dear ailing father, yet when she met her new cousin, Bartram Kingman, she discovered she was not cut to be a mistress, but a wife! The problem, though, was convicing Bartram of that idea. He was conviced she had less morals than any other rich spoiled girls and had far less charms to incite him to take her manners seriously. Regan couldn't blame anyone but herself for his ill thinking of her.
To some extend, this story would have been one of the best - it was written wonderfully at least and in certain chapters it was fantastic - but the two main characters gave it away. The heroine was vain, spoilt, childish and immature. She acted as a 16 years old teen rather than a twenty years old mature woman. When she finally matured enough, we discover the hero was a cheat! He hid the fact that he had a fiancee and all along kissed the heroine and tried to make love to her! Birds with feather fly tgether!
