I absolutely adore this very talented young Chef. I watch his Food and Wine Magazine videos on Facebook and find him witty with an infectious personality filled with charm and style. Imagine my surprise when I discovered he has a cookbook. Love his recipes contained here, which sound not only delicious but simple and easy to make while still picking tons of flavor. His references to his Grandmother Barbara were very endearing to me as I grew up with my grandmother as well. And we also didn't have a lot of money, but somehow there was always food on the table made from sometimes the cheapest ingredients she could find which always seemed to end up incredibly satisfying and delicious.
I enjoyed reading his recipes, but also references to family, friends, his husband all written with love and that sweet adorable personality shining through. I am definitely going to make some of these dishes and perhaps reread this delightful cookbook over and over again just to put a smile on my face.
Great cookbook featuring tons of modern flavors. One thing that distinguishes it from other cookbooks I’ve tried recently is that the same ingredients are used in many of 5he recipes. So if you buy honey roasted peanuts for the Thai Beef salad, you can use them for the chocolate pie as well. The Thai beef salad was delicious and easy to put together. I plan to cook my way through the book.
