Rejection and I have an understanding: I don't put myself out there and it doesn't screw with my life any more. I keep my feelings hidden, and my heart locked away. It was working well until he came along and threatened my impenetrable armor, one honeyed word at a time.
With his clean cut looks, and southern manners, I'm convinced he's not my type. Until I learn Trevor isn't the same gentleman in the bedroom as he is in the boardroom.
But once he learns my secrets, and my carefully constructed facade starts to crumble, it's my turn to do the rejecting.
I only hope he doesn't listen.

This review is a wee bit spoilerish if you haven’t read Without Apology, so please, proceed with caution.
This is going to sound strange but while I was reading Without Regret I was a little jealous of Emma’s loneliness. See, I wouldn’t mind a bit of lonely time, to be honest. I seem to be surrounded by people ALL THE TIME and it’s slowly driving me crazy. Before I went back to work, I could easily scrape together a few hours by myself daily. Now, when I’m home, the kids are home, Hubby is home and they want to interact…THE HORROR!! So, when Emma gloats about walking into her empty apartment, enjoying a quiet bath with a glass of wine and eating what she wants, well I was a wee bit jealous. Of course, I know I’m being melodramatic (and thoughtless to people who are lonely) but for five seconds I wouldn’t have minded a wee bit of loneliness.
When I met Emma in Without Apology, I definitely wanted to know her better. I needed to see inside her mind, find out what motivates her and see what’s given her a tough shell. I also wanted full confirmation that she never had designs on Simon from Without Apology. I am so glad she 100% convinced me that their relationship was more sibling than a love interest.
I got what I wanted and I loved every minute of it. Emma is such a tough bugger but she really is protecting a mushy, gushy centre. What that poor girl had been through, it’s no wonder she’s scared to put her heart on the line. Lucky, Trev came along and he made it oh so not scary.
Holy shamoly, Aubrey Bondurant really does read minds. It’s like she magically plucked a list of top traits to look for in a romance hero right out of my head. Trev, you really, REALLY are good…and oh so not scary.
I absolutely loved that Trevor ended up being exactly what Emma needed and wanted. He just appeared to be the opposite on first impressions. His look, his action and his WORDS. I so want to spill the beans and share about the sexy times because there’s this thing he does, it was actually really original. Sorry, not a thing, in a *put your man bit in, take your man bit out, put your man bit in, and shake it all about…* kind of way. It was how he approached Emma’s wants. He wasn’t willing to give Emma what she’s had before, he wanted to put his own *shake it all about…* signature moves and WORDS to it. Honestly, the term “Honey,” will never be read without thinking of Trev, in a very good way.
Now, I’ll give you a wee bit of a warning, Emma does the dimwit move in this one instead of Trevor. Sorry, I know, huge generalisation, but a lot of the time it's the hero losing track of his brain for a time and it was refreshing that Trevor doesn't have that malfunction. I pulled the old *squinty eyes* at her but before I could shake my head and think up a lecture, Emma woke up to herself and put her brain back in her head.
The storyline was interesting, the characters came to life for me and seeing Emma and Trevor’s connection, made this one of my favourite reads of the year. My emotions were invested and I needed to see Emma and Trevor get to their happy ever after. I loved catching up with Simon and Peyton, hated having to deal with Tom again and loved meeting Rufus, Trev’s dog.
If you’re looking for a great contemporary romance with plenty of steam, an interesting story and lovable characters, I highly recommend Without Regret. I really hope there’s more to come in this series, maybe Mason or Avery OR Mason and Avery…no, Mason or Avery, I can’t see them together (I think, no, I know, no, I think…).
Stacey is Sassy, received a complimentary copy of this story. The copy provided is not the final copy and may be subject to edits and changes.
Emma Brown likes bad boys, but Trevor Newhall, 28, is a nice guy. Technically, he’s a suit guy, which Emma has sworn off. But he’s hard to resist.
I liked Emma in Without Apology, and I think she started off strong here.
“‘Because I guarantee being the one who got away feels a hell of a lot better than being the girl who gives him a second chance.’”
This is awesome advice that she gave out, and more women should probably take it to heart. There are too many tales of heroines taking back cheaters, users, and abusers and worse yet, romanticizing it. So when a heroine speaks these wise words, well…Amen!
I only wish Emma could have applied more wisdom to her own emotional baggage as the story progressed. At certain points, Emma’s no commitment, keep-a-distance stance grew a little tired.
Trevor really was a good guy and great catch. He had a ton of patience, and turned out to be a true sweetie. I would have only haggled with him over one statement, and that’s mainly because I hate to see the importance of higher education sold short.
“‘All a degree means is that you had the financial means and put forth the effort to get it.’”
But honestly, I think he was just trying to make Emma feel better because he was a caring and understanding guy like that.
These two didn’t lack for sexy times together.
“‘Too bad you already covered up; I bet you would’ve looked good between my red lips.’”
Though there was a point where their relationship seemed stalled in sex mode due to Emma's hang-ups.
In comparison to the first book, this one seemed to lack some of the business side plot intrigue that I enjoyed with that one. Told via Emma and Trevor’s dual first person POV, it can be read as a standalone, although I highly recommend the first book too. Peyton and Simon (Emma’s boss) make appearances in this one. I enjoyed Simon’s role here, reaffirming what an awesome guy he is as well. Hope to see Mason get a story at some point.

When reading the previous book and meeting Emma, I was really looking forward to this to see what kind of a hero would be a good match for her. I adored Emma and her grumpiness, her total dislike for people and social interactions (LOL); but also her drive, ambition, and professionalism.
And damn, Trevor did not disappoint! A ray of sunshine who was as dirty as he was polite and fun.
I loved previous book Without Apology, and had high expectations for this one. Unfortunately it wasn't the case for me...
It started very strong, but the heroine quickly lost her cool façade. The hero was ok, the best about him was his dog, whom he rescued/adopted from animal shelter.
"Then prove it. Let me kiss you and if there is nothing there, no spark, we walk away. But if there is, then be brave enough to admit you're feeling this connection between us too."
Damn, Bondurant. Trevor is just... perfect for Emma. Without Regret is a very sexy office romance set in Texas featuring sassy Brit Emma Brown (no relation, haha) from Book 1 in the series, Without Apology. I liked Emma a lot! She's a strong heroine with a broken past which makes it hard for her to trust, even when Mr. Perfect, AKA Trevor comes a knockin'. And that epilogue. Don't even get me started...
Without Regret is the second book in the Without series by Aubrey Bondurant. I was really looking forward to this book after reading “Without Apology” (Book #1)- and couldn’t wait to dive in as soon as I had a few hours spare. I loved Emma in the first book and couldn’t wait to find out all about her. Her story is a wonderful office romance- with a sexy storyline full of funny banter, witty quips, sizzling chemistry, emotion, and some drama. I am happy to report that this book is every bit as good as the first, in fact this is my favourite, so far. Emma Brown didn’t have an easy life growing up, but never the less has managed to land on her feet, finding a job that she loves, for a boss who has become one of her few close friends. She comes across as stand-offish and doesn’t ‘mince’ words. But her ‘prickly’ demeanour is just her way of keeping people at arm’s length- the less people she lets ‘in’ the less chance she has of being hurt or dealing with yet more disappointments in her life. As her boss Simon settles into his life in Dallas, after meeting the love of his life while there on the last project(Without Apology Book #1), he is now less inclined to do all the travelling that his job requires- so he looks at hiring someone who would work on all those projects that would entail travelling away for long periods of time. Simon thinks he may have found the perfect person for the job. When he arrives at the office for the first time, Emma is surprised, in more ways than one. There is something about him that draws her to him- and that leaves her a little unsettled and confused. She doesn’t date ‘suits’, and is very wary of relationships, especially with a colleague. But as they spend more time together, working closely, the magnetic attraction they share soon becomes overwhelming. Will they give in to their desire? What happens if they do and their secret ‘office affair’ becomes public knowledge? Will Trevor teach her to trust again? Can she learn to love, without regret? As I mentioned in my previous review, these characters are superb- really well developed interesting and very likeable- including the secondary characters. Well, except for Tom, who I disliked intensely in the first book and then throughout this story too. The story is sexy and incredibly HOT! There were emotional, heart-wrenching moments that made me feel for the characters- as well as tender, touching, sweet, romantic scenes that warmed my heart. There is something here for all romance lovers, dive in- you won’t regret it! I wonder what Ms. Bondurant has in store for us next?
Without Regret (Without Series Book 2) By: Aubrey Bondurant 5 out of 5 stars
The story Without Regret (Without Series Book 2) by Aubrey Bondurant is a wonderful romantic comedy that I loved reading. It is one of those books that has a wonderful storyline and amazing characters. One of those characters is Trevor. He is a man that is determined to follow his own path in the world. He is handsome, charming, and is not used to having a hard time catching the attention of a woman. That all changes when he meets her. She is a woman that doesn’t do relationships. No attachments, no feelings, and no nice guys. Then she meets Trevor. That these two are attracted to each other from the first time they meet is undeniable. The chemistry between them is off the charts. There is plenty of playful bantering between them. There are also steamy scenes that will have the temperature in the room quickly rising. What happens when a relationship that was to just be casual turns into something more? She has issues of trust. Can Trevor make her understand the way he truly feels about her and to trust him? Is there any chance that these two will get an HEA? This story has characters that are brought forward from the first book as well as introducing others that I enjoyed reading about. There are scenes that will touch your heart and I couldn’t help but feel empathy for how the woman who is falling for Trevor had been treated in the past. I have loved the first two books in this series and hope that there is a third story. Don’t miss out on a story that has plenty of romance and will also have you smiling while reading.
This is the second book in this series but can be read as a stand alone but I highly suggest reading the first book where you get to meet Emma and who she is. I enjoyed this book just as much if not more then the first one. The characters are connectable and lovable. Emma and Trevor have such chemistry you don't want to miss them. Emma is a really strong character and finds herself missing something and Trevor just might be it but you will have to read to find out. Highly recommend reading!
I loved Emma so much from the first book and even though I personally think you should read them in order because well they are just so dang good, you definitely don't have to read them in order. Now Emma, well she has a type and she is absolutely sure no matter what her body is saying that Trevor is not that type. However, imagine my surprise and even more hers when she discovers just how much Trevor actually is her type. I love this author and everything she has published but this series might be my favorite of hers so far. I can not wait to see what is next in this series or more accurately what this author comes out with. Whatever it is you can bet, I'm buying!! LOVED IT!!!
What I have come to expect from and really like about Aubrey Bondurant books is that she takes ordinary people and situations and gives them just enough spice and touch of fantasy as to make for a great read. In Without Regret, Emma, a British expat living (and still adjusting) to Dallas meets Trevor. Trevor is Texas born and bred but is breaking away from his father's expectation when he takes a job with the Stone Group. Trevor is certain about Emma. Emma needs some convincing.
Emma is a woman damaged by life early on so that when a married man takes advantage, it leaves a nasty and almost indelible impression that makes her look at all men with jaundiced eyes. One night stands with a certain type becomes her M.O. and friendships are not even attempted. Trevor is a man's man. Smart, alpha, in control. He wants to break through to Emma and is willing to dedicate the time and patience needed to reach her.
The story follows as Emma and Trevor through their less than usual courtship. Handling working together, with hot as Hades after work extracurricular activities make for a read that you will have a hard time putting down. Bondurant slowly reveals her characters' fears and insecurities while building a solid relationship between the two. There is a bit of a mystery as who is the man who Emma must leave in her past to get through to her future. Well paced and balanced nicely with action, interaction and steam, Without Regret is another great addition to Bondurant's romance catalogue.
I read and loved Without Apology and immediately purchased Without Regret and am so glad I did. I suggest reading Without Apology first although it is not required, but Emma is introduced in that book. Emma is Simon’s personal assistant and I loved her from the moment she first spoke. She is strong and sassy, yet smart and selfless. She is stationed in Texas because of her work assignment and is truly a fish out of water as she is from London originally, and then New York. She holds her own though and is very funny and respectful to everyone except, Tom, who is one of her superiors. If ever there was a villain, it was Tom. You hate everything about his smug disrespectful attitude, and his feeling of superiority.
Just as much as you will hate Tom, you will love Trevor, the cowboy who wins her heart. He is such a sweetheart and has a heart of gold. He’s not only hot and handsome, he is charming, patient, smart, and kind, and also very witty. I also like his relationship with his sister and dad.
This story is about their journey of finding romance and how Trevor finally breaks down Emma’s walls to accept that she can be loved. Her childhood is very sad, and I am so glad this couple gets their HEA. He is her perfect match.
This is the story of Emma, Simon's assistant from the last book. When S decides to travel less, he wants to hire a new person... who then is really into Emma from the day he meets her.
I tend to love this author because the drama feels realistic and not made up. Also, this was super sexy with a lot of dirty talk! So good!
I liked Trev more than Simon, he just has a bit more about him. Trevor was a packaged gentlemen with a hint of bad boy! He wasn’t boring. He teased Emma. He pushed her buttons. He crowded her. He pacified her “no strings attached” caution whilst very much fishing for the opposite. Call me old fashioned but he chased her, pursued her, wanted more from the off because she set his heart on fire and every rejection due to her walls being firmly in place stung, but he could see how she worked and decided to retreat and retry. She liked him so much more than she let on, and everything about them was organic. The sex scenes were flaming hot!!! I love it when there’s oral scenes from a guy to a heroine, it’s so giving and hot (ofc all the while imagining that he’s never done it to anyone else). 😂 It’s like there’s so much spice between them!
It was at around 80% where I was like give in Emma you annoying cow! Give in! But it’s far more understandable when her childhood comes to light. I swear though these heroines are soo dramatic - resigning from their job and just jumping on a plane to another city. Loool, if we could all do that anytime something bad happens in life! But yeah, she needed a shake however other than that everything was paced very well.
Safety: Happy to say they’ve both been with people before and on her behalf she says she has had her “fair share”. Which honestly is actually a tick in the box for me because it’s just different to the normal shit. She exclusively sticks to one night stands whereas he’s had a few girlfriends - nothing serious, no details mentioned.
He has a persistent OW on his tail, his younger sister’s friend which he reacts to like a squatting a fly. So we are safe there bc he’s very much focussed on the h. However I wouldn’t let a random guy rub my arm and be so touchy, so he could’ve told OW to back off with her physical touches. It’s more about Emma’s jealousy surrounding the situation.
Emma has way more formidable OM drama. Her and Trevor have chemistry she tries to ignore. She’s on the prowl, kisses a guy, feels sick to her stomach, goes home and when angry, hurt Trev comes knocking at her door and finding her home, there begins their sexual relationship. Badabing badabong! There’s also her past biting her in the ass in the form of an “ex” who deceived her when he had a wife the entire time. Relationship only lasted two weeks and ended years ago, but drama is present there as the individual is ironically present throughout the book.
Favourite scene: “You need to go. Just leave me and go live your life. I’m sorry about your feelings, but—”
“No.”
Her eyes widened. “What?”
“I said no. I’ll go now if that’s what you want, but tomorrow I’ll be back and the day after that. I’ll call you and text you and send you flowers.”
“I abhor flowers.”
“Too fucking bad. Because for the first time in my life, I want to send them to a woman. I want her to know I’m thinking of her. And that I love her.”
“You can’t possibly love me.”
And this was what it came down to. She truly didn’t believe I could. “I can. And I do.”
I’ve loved every book of Aubrey Bondurant’s that I’ve read. I always find Bondurant’s stories to be captivating, the kind of stories that I just sink into and get lost in, totally wrapped up in whatever world she’s created, the characters she’s introduced and their love stories. When I read, that’s exactly the experience I’m hoping for, and being able to consistently find that in one author’s work, like I do with Aubrey Bondurant, is a rare occurrence. Bondurant describes her writing style as adult contemporary erotic romantic comedy—think smutty chick-lit—but whatever she calls it, make no mistake, this author is talented. Her writing is engrossing, clever and witty, and she draws her readers in with a sexy love story, endearing characters and charming details. As a contemporary romance reader, if Aubrey Bondurant’s name isn’t already on your radar, it needs to be.
Without Regret is the second book in Bondurant’s Without series, and I am really enjoying these characters and their stories. Like Without Apology, the first book in the series, this is also a workplace romance. In this book, Bondurant gives readers a sassy, commitment-phobe British heroine in Emma, a woman who had a rough childhood and struggles with the demons of her dark past. She’s reinvented herself—at least professionally—into an organized, focused and a valuable member of the team at the investment firm where she works. A suit-and-tie-guy isn’t Emma’s thing, but a chance meeting with the Texan, Trevor, coupled with the powerful chemistry between them not only takes her by surprise but also proves difficult to resist.
Bondurant tackled some difficult topics in Without Regret, and she did a fantastic job of capturing that emotion on the page for readers. My heart broke for Emma and what she’s been through, but it wasn’t just a painful punch to the feels here, there was also an air of hope in this story that really made this story a page turner. Trevor was the whole package, and I loved this totally swoon-worthy hero. He was confident and so sexy, but with Emma, he was also patient, thoughtful and an alpha gentleman—which, let me tell you, was a knee-weakening, heart-racing combination!
Without Regret was full of raw emotion, characters I adored and a romance that was hotter than Texas in July. Well written and richly developed, Emma and Trevor’s love story pulled me in from the first page and kept me furiously tapping my Kindle as I devoured their it. Five smooches from me for Without Regret by Aubrey Bondurant! ~ Danielle Palumbo
*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*
If you read Without Apology first then you already know Emma and her like of tattooed and pierced men. In Without Regret you learn the details of why. She has a sad past and I think the way she's dealt with it, dating wise, is even more sad. She actually isn't sure how to love and the thought of actually falling for a guy terrifies the crap out of her...but sometimes you just can't how you feel. Especially when it's one determined cowboy.
"Despite telling him and myself I wouldn't get attached, I was already missing his stupid face."
Trevor isn't the typical suit. He a tattooed, pierced, motorcycle riding, sweet talking... gentleman. He wants her from the time they met, even if it was a completely awkward situation that involved his hysterical sister, and he refused to take no for an answer or be permanently friend zoned. He's one determined man who knows exactly what he wants and just how to get it.
"So much for friend-zoning my feelings - they were busy figuring out a way to friend-suck her bottom lip."
Without Regret was completely captivating and difficult to put down. The characters were very well written and had no problem capturing my full attention. The storyline had just enough twists and turns to keep me interested and the satisfaction of finally getting to witness one well deserved person punched in the face was worth the wait. I look forward to seeing where the Without series goes...but can I just say that Trevor's sister with Trevor's best friend...now that is what I want to see...fingers crossed.
One of my favorite snip-its (I just love his gentlemanly determination mixed with her sass.)...
"What are you doing here?" "That's my question for you. Your date - what was his name?" I gritted my teeth. "I don't know." He leaned against my door jamb, amusement in his eyes. "We'll go with Operation Make Trevor Jealous, then." My temper riled. "I did not leave with him to make you jealous."
Without Regret by Aubrey Bondurant is book two of the Without Series. This book can be read as a stand-alone. I read the first book in the series but even if I hadn’t, I would have been able to follow along with Emma and Trevor’s story.
Emma is used to rejection. Now she just lives life in a way that almost completely eliminates rejection. She keeps her walls up and her feelings tucked away. The only friend she has is her boss Simon. Living life this way worked for Emma until a chance encounter at the gym introduces Trevor to her life. She’s not quite understanding her reaction to him but it’s fine because as far as Emma knows, she’ll never have to see him again. Life however has other plans for Emma the next day at the office. She’s confident she can fall back on the excuse that Trevor is not her type at all. She doesn’t go for the nice guy in a suit. Emma quickly discovers Trevor is way more than she expected.
Trevor has wanted Emma since meeting her at the gym but recognizes there is truly something holding her back. When she offers friendship Trevor accepts hoping it can lead to more. Once he has his in with Emma he knows he needs to tread lightly. As their relationship progresses, they both realize the potential, as scary as that is for Emma. However, will the fact that Emma is holding back parts of her past end up destroying what they have?
I loved this book almost, if not more than I loved the first book. There was so much raw emotion, I couldn’t help but feel it along with the characters. I loved that while Emma didn’t think she was worth anything, she developed through the book to realize she deserves to have people around her that love her. Trevor is very alpha and it was portrayed so well in the book. He is very commanding yet polite at the same time. It was refreshing and fun to read. This book has it all. It’s hot, funny, emotional. It really takes you on a journey. Even though you don’t need to, I recommend reading book one and then this book just because the series is awesome.
Without Regret (Without #2) by Aubrey Bondurant Rated 5 stars
I was looking forward to reading this! It did not disappoint. Such a good good book! It is fast paced and exciting! I loved reading Without Apology ( book 1) and couldn’t wait for book 2. It’s nice to see some of the same characters and I can catch up with their lives. This story focuses on Emma ( Simon’s Admin asst) who is a British introvert. She prefers to be alone to having company. She is not a fan of conversing and she has only 2 friends. Until she becomes embroiled in a controversy at the gym. Then she meet HIM. Trevor is tall, handsome and hot! He is a tried and true Texan. He is a flirt and doesn’t need to look to far for a woman companion. He is starting a new job and his sister is briefly staying with him. He meets this little British hottie at the gym and she is giving him the arctic shoulder...he is befuddled. Why is she denying him? No phone number or first name? When he sees her at his new job the next day....I would call that fate!
I LOVED when she said “ you know I’m not talking about Rufus, right?” And he replied with “Neither was I”. So far! They have both come so far! I applaud them! It was baby steps that gets them from point A to point C. Each had a few hang ups but Emma’s was the hardest for her to overcome. Trevor just needed to have patience and use his baby steps. It was great being inside Trevor’s Head. To read his thoughts on Emma was priceless. It made me like him all the more. Simon and Peyton were woven in here perfectly! It was nice to see them again. Simon is a rock! I appreciated him in here as much as in his book. Avery was a nice add as well. That first meeting with her and Emma. So great!
I forgot how much I loved Emma!! She was in book one and I could not wait for her story. Strong, sassy, and full of secrets.
By the end of the first chapter I was hooked - from both Emma’s feistiness, and Trevor’s charming personality. And my goodness, the chemistry between these two was sizzling hot.
Emma cannot, and will not trust anyone again. Walls are up. No one is getting in. Relationships? Out of the question. Love...what’s that?
Well good luck with all that, Emma. Trevor is a force to be reckoned with. Bring on the sexy cowboy who’s sweet, and kind, and loving, and all sorts of swoony... the complete package of a perfect man any woman would crave. And let’s not forget so alpha, and so very HOT.
With that sexy AF drawl and loads of southern charm, he can call me Sugar any day. Or Beautiful. Or Honey. *waggles eyebrows*
I couldn’t get enough of Emma and Trevor’s story. I fell for Trevor hard. Such a gentleman, and full of surprises. The things he would do, and say...wowzers. And Emma, so broken and sad, I couldn’t help but want to hug her and protect her and be a friend she could rely on.
This story was well-written and full of characters that stole my heart! It had the perfect mix of heart, humor, and hotness. So. Good.
The epilogue... be still my heart! Happy, heart squeezing tears. Lovey goodness that made my heart flutter with happiness.
Shout out to Rufus! He kinda stole the show during some scenes. What a big love. <3
Without Regret by Aubrey Bondurant is the second book in her Without Series and what a fantastic follow up in this great series. Following the story of Trevor and Emma. Trevor is a man who is determined to make his own path in the world. Being a handsome charming man and isn’t having any trouble with keeping his bed warm with available women. That is until he meets Emma. Emma is different than all of the others, she is independent, hard headed into no attachments or feelings and doesn’t go for nice guys. That first time meeting Trevor really made her question her long held believes and made Emma want something more than she knew what to ask for. The chemistry between Trevor and Emma was enough to burn up my tablet. The playfulness and heat between these two made the story such a delight to read. But what happens when what was supposed to be just casual runs right into serious? Will Emma be able to trust Trevor enough to give this relationship thing a chance or will her past issues make her run for cover? Trevor wants the happily ever after with Emma but he is going to have to let her drive the car of this relationship if he expects it to go where he wants. Bondurant is an old favorite of mine. Having found her with her Calendar Girl Series and continued with the Without Series I can’t seem to get enough of her writing style. I do suggest reading this series in order, as the characters from book one do make appearances in this book as well. If you are looking for a great story with amazing characters than this is one that you need to check out today!
This was one steamy hot read from Aubrey Bondurant. I have had the pleasure of reading her other books, and the first in the Without series, Without Apology. I don’t think it is necessary to read that one before this one however to fully enjoy it. Emma is a complicated woman. I was a bit torn about her throughout the novel. There were a few times where I was shaking my head and tsk tsk’ing her while trying to figure out what the hades she was doing. In the end, I overall enjoyed her character and understood that some of the decisions she did make were really in a way to protect her heart the only way she knew how to. Treavor is well, perfect. He is a man with the patience of a saint and sometimes I found myself a bit curious if he was too good to be true, but then I just let myself enjoy it being the guy who was a sweetheart without a deep dark and twisty past to contend with. There are some hot steamy scenes that will make you want to have a fan handy if you are reading in public, profuse sweat is a bit hard to explain away ;-) but so worth it in this novel. I can’t wait to see what will come next from Aubrey Bondurant. She has quickly become a favorite to watch author for me and I am anxious for more.
I knew I wanted this book as soon as I finished book 1 in this series, not because it finished on a cliff-hanger but because I was kind of desperate to find out more about Emma. She was such a strong character and I felt like I just wanted to know more about her. As always I was captivated by Ms Bondurant’s writing, her stories really are such a pleasure to read. They flow well, the pace is always great, her characters are well thought out and I just have to pick up every new release she brings out. Without Regret can be read as a standalone but I would highly recommend reading Without Apology also. Emma and Trevor were just brilliant in this book! I loved Emma with her continued feistiness and Trevor was just a pleasure to read about! The way he took the time to really get to know Emma and understand everything that she had been through – he was just swoon-worthy!! I thought they had great chemistry; it was particularly hot at times! Overall another fantastic 5 star read from this incredibly talented author – as always I eagerly anticipate whatever Aubrey Bondurant brings out next!
Without Regret by Aubrey Bondurant is the 2nd book in the Without Series, although each book can be read as a stand-alone. I had not read the first book, Without Apology, and did not feel as though I was missing any information. Without Regret is a romantic office comedy, set in Texas, with awesome characters who you can’t help but fall in love with. Our main characters are Emma and Trevor whose chemistry is off the charts HOT. Sassy Brit Emma is witty, she’s gorgeous and damn good at her job, however, a troubled past has put her off having a relationship. Enter Trevor, the new guy at work. Trevor is instantly smitten and is willing to do everything possible to break down the massive barriers around Emma’s heart. Trevor is one of lifes good guys. He’s clean cut and wears a suit, whereas Emma likes tattooed bad boys and she does not go for guys in suits. Can Trevor break down the walls around Emma’s heart? Is Trevor really the clean cut, suit that he initially seems? Can Emma continue to deny the sizzling chemistry between her and Trevor? I really loved this story. Emma and Trevor are fantastic characters. Added to this, the side characters of Simon and Peyton add so much to the story. So much so that I really must go back and read book 1 in this series, Without Apology, which is Simon and Peyton’s story.

This is my 2nd book by this author and I loved it!! I really must go read everything else she has available. I love her writing style and the way the book flowed so smoothly.
After reading other reviews I know that I would have met Emma in the 1st book of the series yet I didn't and I'm almost kind of glad because I went in to this immediately kinda sorta not liking her and her tough as nails exterior, yet it didn't take long to figure out that there was something within her that had her acting the way she was, she was in protective mode and little by little I truly came to appreciate her character. Her strength was something I seriously admired and watching her as she grew to trust was awesome.
I loved Trevor from the first minute I met him, and I loved how he respected her boundaries for so long and how he kept himself close to her yet restraining from pushing her too fast.
This is an awesome story and I read it quickly because I seriously couldn't put it down once I started
This author has gained a new fan and I can't wait to go see what else there is available as well as reading the first in this series..Would love to see more from all of these characters!
Without Regret by Aubrey Bondurant is the second book in her Without series and it was a long wait after finishing Without Apology! I could not wait for Emma’s story – I fell in love with her character in the first book of the series and I was curious to see what the writer would have in store for her and man, did she deliver! Without Regret takes us on a journey with Emma and Trevor or I would say it is more about Emma discovering who she truly is and what true relationships are … We are finally given a glimpse into who she is and what demons she is battling … She is soooo British and I just cannot get over the contrast between her and Trevor … Trevor is a true Southern gentleman and every time he ‘spoke’ I heard a drawl in my head! AND he is absolutely what the doctor prescribed for Emma and the writer provides us with a ride of a lifetime! And we will have a big slobbery Rufus along for the ride! I am curious to see whose story is next in the series (I sort of hope it is Trevor’s baby sister Avery …) and I am convinced that the writer will not disappoint us! I have read and enjoyed every single one of her stories!
As with other Aubrey Bondurant stories, this one is right up my alley. It is WITHOUT REGRET that I am able to review it as a 5 star read. Let's get my girl crush out of the way. The author writes books that I love to read and have never been let down by any of her stories. She is absolutely a one click author for me.
Emma is a no-nonsense woman who has a work ethic that is enviable, a past that she doesn't talk about and is independent and comfortable with who she is. Trevor is a Texan with a desire to prove himself in business, an MBA from Harvard and a gym rat body with a gentlemanly personality. Emma and Trevor together - aye karumba they are hot.
WITHOUT REGRET is an easy read from beginning to end. While this is Book 2 in the Without Series, it can absolutely be read as a stand-alone but really - why wouldn't you read ALL of her books. The characters are well developed, the story is well plotted, the big drooling dogs are awesome and the romance is swoon worthy. From beginning to end, I enjoyed this entire book.
I absolutely recommend this story, this series and (of course) with author.
Without Regret is the second book in the Without Series by Aubrey Bondurant. I have read several books by this author and think this is my favorite one yet.
The reasons I loved this book are just too many to count. I'm a sucker for the Texas drawl and I'm so thankful to live in Texas and get to hear it daily. I got goosebumps imagining Trevor and his sexy drawl.
Emma is a strong but vulnerable woman and she just got to me. She may not realize it but her situation growing up could have been worse. I have some strong feelings but can't get into it since it could be a spoiler.
The dogs are amazing and though I love larger beasts Trevor' s dog was just a little too big for me but I could just imagine how loveable he was.
I really hope there is a third installment and I have my heart set on a couple, but sure it will happen or not.

“I had no intention of ever uttering the L-word to a living person—it was reserved for my wine, chocolate, and shoes—“
This book was so hard to put down and adult. It captured so many life struggles and dreams...trust, blackmail, secrets, regret, self worth, friendship, loyalty, humor, hope and second chances.
You can’t help falling in love with these characters. Some you are rooting for and others you want to see karma kick into action. I wasn’t sure until the very end how all the pieces were going to fit together. I was anxious to understand what made Emma fear happiness. Hopeful that Trevor could break down her walls.
“The less people who got in, the less likely I’d have to deal with being disappointed when they let me down.”
Without Regret (Without Series book 2) by Aubrey Bondurant 5 stars
Wow! I really thought nothing could top the first book, but this one just blew it out of the water! While this is the second book and about a different couple, I do recommend reading the first book as it helps learn who other characters are. Emma was hard to like in the beginning as she was very closed off, but once you learned her story and really Got to know her, I fell in love with her. Trevor, oh what a guy! I really liked Trevor and his big dog Rufus! These two had so much in their way and Trevor was so patient amd kind but also was hiding some very nice things under those suits he wears to work. I loved this book, this series so far, and I will always read anything this author writes, because she just knows how to hook you right in and make you feel so much for the characters.
Without Regret is the second book in the Without series by Aubrey Bondurant. This book can be read as a stand alone, but I would recommend reading Without Apology first because it is also a five star read that you shouldn’t miss. This is one of my favorite books by Aubrey. This book is fast paced and smooth flowing. I couldn’t wait to read Emma’s story. I just knew it was going to be great and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Trevor is a sexy alpha male, perfect for coaxing Emma out of her shell. Their chemistry is off the charts. I loved the witty dialog and couldn’t put it down. I just can’t wait to see what Ms. Bondurant has in store for us.
