It’s all fun and games until someone gets knocked up… Being the bassist for Absent Without Leave and rocking sold out stadiums around the world with her brother and their best friends is all Quinn Baker has ever dreamed of. Butting heads with lead guitarist, Tanner Hewitt, is just icing on the cake. She teases him, he taunts her, though neither of them crosses the line they always seem to be dancing around. Until they do. After a jealousy-fueled rage ends with her beneath him, Tanner is forced to take a hard look in the mirror and come to grips with everything he has kept bottled up. Knowing he has to put up or shut up, he heads back to Grindstone Harbor with two goals: record AWOL’s new album, and finally make Quinn his. When bombshells are dropped, everyone is left trying to come to terms with the truth. Can Tanner and Quinn find a way to hold onto each other when the media once again take up residency in Grindstone Harbor to dig up the goods on the latest AWOL scandal? Or are they destined to be burned for playing with fire?

Quinn Baker and Tanner Hewitt are AMAZING together...Quinn finds out she is pregnant but doesn’t know who the daddy is...either Evan Puhl or Tanner Hewitt.....oh boy...while Q is trying to keep a level head it all comes down with the record company and label. Vicki their manager and over all....yeah she is out to destroy them..any means possible...BUT there is a familiar friend who comes in and saves the day....yeah no spoilers...but you will LOVE this book...it hits you were you feel...there is soooooo much love in this book...like WOW...a surprise ending too...you will see...
Playing With Fire was hilarious, charming, quirky, sweet, entertaining and a complete riot from start to finish.
And I adored this story, the romance and all the characters. Especially the snarky, sassy Quinn Baker. Not to mention, the appearances from all the members of Shaft and all the crazy shenanigans, Quinn, Tanner, Bristol, Tage, Greer and Evan got up to.
And I would totally recommend this story to others. Especially if you like your romance full of fun, snark and sassiness.
Ok well this is getting harder and harder for me to write reviews for Cat because as most of y’all know I absolutely adore her and her books. And Playing with Fire is no different and every new book she brings out I say it’s my favorite and it is until the next book...lol But this one will definitely stay at the top as one of my favorite’s. I have missed Bristol, Quinn, Tanner, Greer, and Evan!! So to get back to them was so awesome!!! Especially to see what would happen to Quinn and Tanner and Evan. And it was absolutely brilliant and hilarious!! See I love Quinn and her sassy, sarcastic mouth and how when she got pregnant it got so much worse. I love how Tanner finally got his act together and admitted what he needed to admit. I love how this band is a family first and foremost and love each other through anything. And then, THEN some old favorites showed up in the book y’all that was GAME OVER!!! End of it because to see all these new characters that I have fallen in love with with all of my old characters that I had missed so much and of course loved mixing it up and being sassy, sarcastic, smarta$$ and getting along so well made my freakin year!!! So if you like any of Cat’s books you are going to love this one!!! Because this one is the most perfect one that she has written to date and I highly highly recommend this book!!! - By Tina

This might be one of my favorite Cat Mason books to date! It’s no secret that I love my rockers and I’ve missed Quinn, Bristol and the guys. They just don’t seem to understand “appropriate” behavior so every interaction crosses so many boundaries and ends up hilarious! But after Quinn gets knocked up, she becomes a pregasaurus that is out of control. And I just adore her even when she’s dialed up to eleven. Tanner and Evan have their hands full as maybe daddies and the band’s road hits more than just baby bumps. This book was such a fun read and was like a snack filled cupboard with all of the surprisingly sweet treats it had it store for me! Like all of my favorite series by Cat, I was not disappointed and just want more!
Enjoyed Quinn and Tanner’s story. The banter was fun without being obnoxious like can happen. I understand the reality of sleeping with friends, I still didn’t really like the ‘triangle’ aspects.
Thought the massive Vicki dramatics could have been a bit more subtle or even realistic, but she was mostly an evil villain exaggeration.
I tried. I really, really tried. I read this a couple of weeks ago and give a break and give another try because I read the blurb, I did like the characters and specially Quinn and her cursing all the time I really dislike her a lot and Tanner is not any better. After a few chapters, I stopped because I didn't like a single thing. i did not want to know what happen.

Quinn Baker is pregnant but in denial, especially since she doesn't know who the father is - Evan Pahl or Tanner Hewitt.
The band Absent Without Leave (AWOL) is having issues with their manager, Vicki Brandwell and nothing is going right.
Can Quinn figure out her feelings for Tanner and is he ready to stop running when he discovers she's pregnant?
This is the first book I have read in this series and I will definitely have to go back and read the first one!
This book had me laughing so much from start to finish with the antics of AWOL.
Quinn was such a character and I loved her unspoken nature and the scene at the restaurant had me laughing so hard and completely understanding with the "cut-offs" some restaurants have with their different menus.
The chemistry between Quinn and Tanner was through the roof but I understood why Quinn was reluctant to trust her heart to Tanner again after he shattered it previously when he ran. I liked that he was willing to prove that he was in it for the long haul and proved it by breaking rule 319!! I was laughing so hard with that scene!!!
Vicki was absolute evil and I was curious to see why she was so hell bent on bringing Quinn and the rest of AWOL down. I loved when the group met up with Shaft and I absolutely loved the showdown between Jazz and Vicki. Such awesome entertainment!!
The end was great and I can't wait for more in this series!
