I read this to my kids, and it's pretty fun! I think the writing is better in this second installment. The series follows a girl with amnesia who was rescued by quasi-magical wolves when her parents died in a helicopter crash. Now they are her family and collectively they rescue wild animals in need. The world is loosely inspired by Minecraft and there is a bit of a mystery to Stacy's past. Solid adventure series for kids.
I asked her how many stars she would give it: 5 Bajillion!
In Escape to the Mesa, Stacy has done it again. This is a rousing, kid-friendly adventure sure to please your own kiddo! And, hello! Molly is in it. :)
As always, I'm extremely happy to buy a Stacy book for my kiddo and I hope that she keeps the books coming. Aside from her You Tube Channels (super kid friendly, animal friendly, and such a positive influence!), Stacy is all about books and getting kids reading.
Awesome book, true to Stacy's franchise and message, and an absolute pleasure!
I loved this book not only because of the animals but because of the teamwork like when they encountered a mountain lion. Not only this but they helped many people and animals that were in danger. If you are reading this, you can read the 1st and 2nd book separately but I recommend reading them in order. If you like these books, I recommend checking out Stacy’s (One of many) YouTube series, Dogcraft in which this book is based off of. If you end up liking Dogcraft, subscribe for more episodes (A new one comes out almost every Sunday!) Read her books today! ❤️

It's not really a review, but it's the 5th book I have read to my kids this year. My girls have loved this series. Hopefully, my library will make my purchase request for the 4th book.
I thought it was a fun, cute book. I liked it, I really did. I just have one issue with it though. . . Wouldn't you wanna add super powers to your wolves abilities in the first book, and not wait until the sequel. I guess it was introduced well but still, why wait until your sequel to add fantasy to your adventure series? I still loved the book though don't get me wrong, and I will be finishing the whole series. It's just a weird thing to add in the sequel instead of the first book.

This book was so much fun! I loved getting to travel with the pack and explore the Mesa! We also learn a little more about how Stacy came to live in the woods with the wolves. And we also got to add Molly to the pack.
These books are so short, I’m already ready to review the second one! This one may be my favorite of the series, but the fourth one just arrived in the mail, so we will see. Shorter list of flaws.
1. I understand what Stacy means by rescue days because I watch her videos, but someone who hasn’t will be very confused about why it’s there. I think that as a long time viewer, it’s fun to see the details that are in the series, but for non-fans, it is unusual and strange.
2. Just have to wonder how after a small amount of rain, a flash flood suddenly happens. There is literally NO WATER in the Mesa. How after it raining for an estimated 5 minutes did a flash flood suddenly happen! I feel like it was add to show Noah’s ability and create action and that’s it.
Short list of flaws because, like I said, this book is my favorite of the series. My list of favorite things is much longer.
1. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how we get to see other characters from her other Minecraft series like The Candy Isle/Mesa. I really hope we get to see other characters and the author already said in a live that there will be Mystic Mesa Characters in the fourth book so I am excited!
2. The drawings are magnificent! If you don’t like the book, you at least have to like the art! I love the one with Stacy, Page, and a pumpkin sitting on Basil. The one with the wolves and Page on the train roof while Stacy and Molly sit at the booth is adorable too! The last one with the Christmas stuff just makes me smile cause it is SO CUTE! I’m in LOVE with the art in this book!
Looking forward to book 4 and ready to re-read the 3rd one. From what I remember, it helps explain a LOT about the wolves and their powers! Look out for the third review!

Stacy lives in the Taiga forest with the wolves who rescued her: Addison, Basil, Everest, Noah, Tucker, and Wink. But these aren't just any regular wolves. No, they are exceptionally intelligent and have other amazing capabilities: cooking, super speed, exceptional underwater swimming capability just to name a few...
Since Stacy doesn't know when her actual birthday is, she and the wolves celebrate her rescue day. And that's where this story opens. Things have been going pretty well for Stacy and the wolves, but the human world is encroaching. There are plans to develop part of the forest, and that puts the wolves at risk. With little ability to hide in the forest as arctic wolves - at least until winter arrives - they realize that their best chance comes from leaving the Taiga. So they travel to the Mesa; but their new, temporary home brings its own dangers.
This was a fun novel with a little twist on the whole "raised by wolves" storyline. Though the story is told from Stacy's POV, each of the wolves in her small pack is as much of a protagonist as she is. Their intelligence, and the extra abilities the wolves have, make the story fun, while Stacy and her wolves' continuous quest to rescue animals in need adds a compassionate aspect.
As an adventure story with some fantastical elements, this is a great book and series for younger middle-grade readers. Older readers might find the book to be a bit simple, but it's still a great story. The audiobook is also narrated by the author. While I'm a bit leery of author-narrated audiobooks - largely because narrating is a skill, just like writing, and ability in the latter doesn't necessarily translate to ability in the former - this is one of those instances in which the author does have both skills. I look forward to listening to more stories in this series, and I am definitely curious to learn more about the special abilities the different wolves have.
If you want a book about human/ animal interactions, Here are some titles: Call of the Wild. Warriors. Goose Girl. Waiting for the Magic. Saving Winslow. Saucy. Charlotte's Web. A Wolf Called Wander.
File this under "celebrity author" if being a YouTuber is celebrity. This is possibly the worst book I have ever tried to read. I'm sorry! I try not to post anything about a book if I don't like it personally, but I don't want you to waste money or time on this title. Here's a rundown: a girl lives in a cave with a pack of wolves. They hunt and do crafts at a "big spruce table" together. The wolves bake her pies and bring her flowers. At one point, they ride a train and there's a canine/human tea party.
When a kid recommends a book, I do my best to read it with an open mind, but in this case I just can't.
10 years old, and loved this. After reading the 1st book I read this one and knew I had to finish the series. Stacy is a wonderful writer and YouTuber. The book is easy to read and kids 6-12 would love this Don't listen to the adult people who have no kids on here and decide to write completely negative reviews on stuff kids don't care about, especially if it's not you reading the book (if it's your kid reading) Kids know what they like
Not quite as good as the first. I felt like there was no real threats throughout the book, unlike with Guardians of the Taiga. Still enjoyable overall, however.
While I was reading I just felt like the writing was a bit bumpy. For the most part Stacy(the author) did a great job. I felt like Stacy(the author) forgot to add a few details. Another thing is was I had a hard time seeing what she was saying. I just don’t think she made it detailed enough for me to actually understand what I’m supposed to be imagining. But on the good side, the story was very nice. It got boring here and there. But I really did enjoy reading it. I think her characters are pretty cool too. I know she has a YouTube channel and she has to remember all the wolves names, but really how does she not forget about one of the wolves. She never leaves one out. For our main character, Stacy, she’s cool. Some parts I understood why she was upset. I guess I don’t have that much to say about Stacy. It was nice to hear her thoughts. But that’s about all for her.
I know Stacy plays on YouTube (check out her channel). I think this is a great book for fans of her channel and kids of all ages. Tho I do like this book, I wish there would be more of these amazing adventure books! Ps: Stacy keep on doing what your doing your amazing!!!!
I read this book because I knew the YouTuber Stacyplays who wrote it. I grew up watching and loving her videos. It was a great and enjoyable book and I can tell she was so happy while fufilling this dream of writing a book, she has inspired my for writing to and I’m so proud of her and how far she has come its truly amazing. Love ya Stace!
This was a fantastic series. It was so entertaining that I had a hard time putting it down. I’m hoping there’s a 3rd book in the series because 1. I can’t get enough of Stacy and her pack’s adventures 2. I want to learn more about the wolves ;)
I love wild rescuers, but I never had gotten to read it past book one off of kindle! This is awesome, and the book itself is even better! I loved it, the adventure, the suspense, and just the happy things!
So much action and emotion! Maybe I'm a bit biased because I've loved Stacy for 6 or 7 years now, but I love her series with all of my heart and I can't put into words how much her books intrigue me. I read the first 2 books in her series in a day!
Another cute book. Perfect for 8-11 years old. My daughter loved it. She got this book for valentines day. I think I'll have to tell the easter bunny about book #3. 🐰🐣. She can't wait to learn about why the wolves have special powers!
It was nice but no threats at all at every moment that i thought something bad would happen everyone was fine in the end no threats made it very boring also the molly rescue scene was difficult to visualize

If you like Minecraft and adventure than this book is for you. I personally don’t like Minecraft but I liked this book, and I was surprised by that fact. The author just brings you into the world that it takes place.
Super cute story. So happy to be introduced to Molly, and to be back home in the Taiga, that is now protected! I can’t wait to see where we end up next. For being meant for young readers, this is a really cute series and I’m liking having reprieve from my horror/thriller moments
