Mia's Warning: This Friends to Lovers quickie is HOT. Make yourself cozy with some super steamy stuff inside!
I liked this book for what it was, which was a quick friends to lovers story, in fact I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I was going because usually I am not a big of shorter formats for story, but this worked for me. Nick and Melissa had a nice rapport between them. Their friendship was good between them and I felt they had great level of trust and understanding between them that made it easy to believe that they could in fact fall into a relationship and make it work. I enjoyed seeing Melissa interacting with Toby, Nick’s son, and showed a great relationship and trust between the two of them, which made it easier for Nick getting involved with Melissa, though he did doubt making it more for fear what would happen if it didn’t work out between them. The love scenes were pretty steamy and hot and showed off their chemistry even if it was only newly discovered between them after she decided to play the role of fake fiancée. It was there, and it felt natural and not forced.
Would I have liked to see a bit more angst and development? Did it seem rushed at time with their newly discovered relationship and suddenly wanting to be a couple of a sudden? Sure, but in a shorter format that can’t always happen because of the space. I was glad that there was already an established friendship between Nick and Melissa that the next step just seemed natural and easy between them. I think that if they just meant acted on their attraction then suddenly wanted to be in this lifelong relationship that I wouldn’t have believed it because it would have just seemed too out there for me and not believable. So, that friendship between Melissa and Nick had to be in place for me to be totally behind it.
There was a little bit of conflict but not too much. This was just a story of two friends becoming lovers and developing more and I accepted that. I enjoyed the ride. And surprisingly I accepted the shorter format of the story. Would I have liked it to be longer? Sure, but again I liked it for what it was. I would read this author again if she had more friends to lovers stories.

Emotional, romantic, explosive chemistry and a very happy ending – BUY THIS ONE! I absolutely love the creative mind of Mia Ford. Amongst all the “friends to lovers” “fake fiancé” romances that have hit the market lately, Mia Ford’s “Friends to Lovers” stand out because she has the ability to create characters that are easy to love and root for (as well as protagonists who are so easy to dislike and dismiss) within a short but compelling plot that takes her readers down a road of positive events and creative opportunities. Although there is angst expressed by both our hero Nick and our heroine Melissa, it is the type that positively develops richer characterization. It doesn’t fall into that role of insipid repetition of self-doubt which may up the word count but stalls the story – and for that reason alone, I say GREAT JOB, and THANK YOU to author M. Ford. However, Ford doesn’t stop there! In “Friends to Lovers” Ford gives her readers a combustive chemistry as the catalyst which could open the door to changed and uplifted lives. The question is, will Nick and Melissa finally recognize what has been there between them all time? I was given an ARC copy of “Friends to Lovers” to prepare this honest voluntary review and must give it a five-star, MUST-READ review, even though I usually give novella’s only 4 stars. “Friends to Lovers” is that good. I strongly suggest you get your copy today. Happy pages! 😉
Melissa and Nick met in middle school and became the best of friends. He went off to college and met the girl who would become his wife and mother of their son. However, she wasn't worthy of him and left Nick and their son. He is going to an awards ceremony and needs a partner so he asks Melissa if she will pretend to be his fiancée for the evening. What Nick doesn't know is that Melissa has been in love with him for years but never act upon it as she didn't want to ruin their friendship. Mia Ford is a top 100 selling author and this story certainly illustrates why her books are so popular. her writing style is relaxed, enticing and with fabulous characters. Nick and Melissa are just so good together but why has it taken Nick so long to realise how much Melissa means to him? They are so well suited with plenty of steam heat between them and are so comfortable with each other whilst still appreciating the sizzling chemistry between them. Will Nick want to make the fake fiancée into something real and lasting? I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish and look forward to Mia's next romantic adventure. Grab this as soon as you can as its a great fast paced read that I read in one go.
I received a reader's copy and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here.
This was a good short read. I liked the love story about two best friends finding the love between them growing. I wished the story was a lot longer since I love this authors writing. Overview. Nick is a resent divorced single dad. He lost 1/2 his money and sold his 1/2 of the business out when he found his partner/best friend Pete was sleeping with his wife Liz. Liz decided she only wanted money in the divorce and signed her parental rights away. Nicks best friend since middle school Melissa has been there for him. So when he has to go to an awards party, Melissa goes with him. But Nick now sees Melissa in a new light and decides to kiss her in front of everyone. Both now feel the physical bond. But when they get back to Nicks house he can't take it, he wants more and goes for it. The two feel everything happening at once but they decided to be girlfriend and boyfriend.
Melissa and Nick have been friends since they were kids none of the women he ever was involved with understood their connection not even he then wife. Now Liz is his ex wife after he caught her and his business partner together. Now he has a event he needs to go to and finds out at the last minute his ex and his former business partner will be there so he asks Melissa to go with him. One kiss and everything changes for them. Will Nick show Melissa that they can be good together? Will his ex try to break them up?
This is a great story and very entertaining. Once I started reading this I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Melissa and Nick is electrifying. I would recommend this to any of my book friends.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. I enjoyed it so much I bought my own copy.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Oh wow, I need more tissues....!!!! What a beautiful, heartwarming story. For such a short novella, it packs so much. It slowly goes from one scene to another and before you know it you are half way through reading it. Nick has know Melissa for a long time, Friends first but always there in the background. After Nick’s horrible experience with his ex wife he needs a date for one night to a special Work gala and now the fun begins. You can feel the chemistry slowly building between them (which I think has always been there ) and can only get better. Hot sexy scenes which come naturally in the course of a new relationship, plus Melissa just loves the rest of Nicks family...mum and son Toby . A story I truly enjoyed, it makes you feel good and happy for them.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I loved this story. Sometimes I just want to read a quick book that is well written. This is that book. Nick and Melissa have been friends for a long time and have been there for one another along the way. Though Nick married another he kept his friendship with Melissa That marriage didn't last and left him as the sole parent of his son, Toby. Melissa attends an awards banquet with Nick and things change from then. Nick realizes that he has strong feeling for Melissa and wonders if they can cross the line from just being friends to more. Melissa has had a crush on Nick in middle and high school and now wonders if she ever outgrew that. She is also wondering if he feels the same way. This is a sweet and sexy read with a wonderful HEA.
A short but very well written story with great storyline and plot. The characters have an amazing chemistry and passion. They are well described and develops nicely. I like the heart the book has. It is not only hot scenes but it has a thought behind the story. It is exciting and sexy but also very romantic and captivating.
About coming out of the friendzone and take the chance you have been waiting for many years. To realise that want you have been seeking for have been right in front of you all the time.
The story has passion, trust, lust, love, protectiveness, ex-wife trouble and twists that are unexpected. I like it very much. Keep writing these amazing stories!
Once again Mia has written a quick romantic story so captivating, I couldn't put it down. Nick a single dad and Melissa have been friends forever. Nick married a college sweetheart and when she left him and a their son, Melissa was there to pick up the pieces. Melissa has been in love with Nick for ages but kept it to herself as not to spoil their friendship. Nick needs a fake fiance for an awards dinner and Melissa agrees to play the part. Can this pretend relationship grow into the real thing? The explosive chemistry, heartache, passion, trust, and love in this story all lead to a HEA. A quick entertaining must read. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
It’s a short well written story with good characters. I liked it, but it’s maybe too short to completely enjoy it. Nick lives with his son since he found his wife cheating on him with his business partner. She was a cold heart, a gold digger who wanted his money, but not their son. For a dinner, he has to find a date to go with him because his ex will be there. He asks Melissa, a friend since school, to come with him. When they have to fake their relation, they quickly realise that there’s more than friendship between them. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Friends To Lovers is just about that. It’s the story of Nick and Melissa. Friends since middle school and after some life changing events, they find themselves in the crossroads of staying in the safe friend zone or risking it all and taking their relationship to the next level. This book is short, well paced and packed with drama, steam and sweetness. I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.
This is a quick read about two best friends and the love the love they have for each other. Melissa and Nick have been friends since grade school and now that they are older they take their relationship to another level. Throw in Nick's ex, drama and jealousy and the story gets interesting. My only complaint is that it was way too short a read. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Nick and Melissa have been friends since childhood. She was there for him and his son when his wife divorced him. When Nick has to attend an Awards Banquet Melissa agrees to go with him as his fake fiancée. Nick and Melissa had amazing chemistry and the sexy scenes were hot. This was a well written sweet and enduring romance. I voluntarily received an advance arc copy for an honest review.
How do you tell your best friend your in love with them without jeopardizing your long time friendship ? I absolutely loved this book it go's to show how two people that are friends for years actually are better suited for each other. You'll feel warmth in your heart for Nick, Melissa, and Tobes and disdain for Nicks ex wife. It's a quick read that you won't want to miss.
A well written sweet friends to lovers romance. This book has betrayal, romance and so much more. Nick and Melissa have been friends since middle school. Nick is left raising is son Toby after his wife cheated on him with his best friend. This book kept me turning the pages until the very end. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

A short and sweet romance between besties that had been apparently fighting their true feelings. Nick and Melissa definitely had lots of chemistry, And I was glad to see they got what they wanted. Aannddd of course, I was doubly pleased to see Liz (that b word that rhymes with witch get put in her place). Loved this story! I voluntarily read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
A beautiful and sweet best friends to lovers short story. This a lovely, well written story, with wonderful characters (except the ex wife that is wonderfully horrid) and a joyful happy ever after!
A quick but satisfying read, you won’t be disappointed.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Melissa and Nick were best friends through school. Nick is a newly single. Melissa has always has feelings for him but kept them to herself. But now that Nick needs a fake fiancee will the lines be crossed? Can best friends be more than friends? Will they get a HEA?
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
This is a fast-paced friend to lovers romance. Nick and Melissa have been friends since they were kids. Melissa was always there for him, even when his wife left him and their son. He asks Melissa to be his fake fiancé for an event and sees her in a whole new light. Sweet with plenty of drama. I liked the characters and the story.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. This was a great book! A sweet, short and explosive story about Melissa and Nick. Friendship is often the best foundation for a relationship. I loved Melissa's character and the way Nick came to his senses without drama. I loved it and would highly recommend it to all!!
These two have a friendship that’s lasted through a lot of tough times. When he takes her to an ever to make his ex jealous, he realizes how much he loves her other than as just friends. He’s able to finally break out of the depressed state he was in from his ex wife and begin to move on to better things. Such a sweet read! I’m voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
I wanted to like this story more but in some places it just felt too forced honestly. That and it felt like a lot of the story’s groundwork was glossed over n not all that well. I think this story would’ve been better as more full length so as to fill in the gaps and make their long friendship seem more believable.
A entertaining short read. Nick and Melissa's story is fun and sexy. Romantic, steamy, and emotional, this fake fiancé romance offers a fun plot, and likable characters. I'm posting a totally honest, voluntary review after reading this book.
Another fabulous book from Mia Ford. What an enjoyable read this book was. The story of Melissa and Nick, high school friends to lovers.... eventually right?!?! Great read and highly recommended I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
This started of surprisingly well. It all went downhill at the confrontation of his ex. What the heck!! Melissa was so weak. I do not understand why she was too scared to stand up for herself but I let that slide. I kept reading but it only like worse. Corny ending.
A great friends to lovers story with scorching hot sex scenes. Nick and Melissa have incredible chemistry and are just perfect together. It is very well written and flows flawlessly. This is a story not to be missed. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I loved everything about this novella. It's a very quick read and even though it's short it is packed full of information about the characters so you get a good insight into them. It is well written. This is a must read. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
