Moxie:You checking my pulse...?

Abasiama: Bimbim. Bimbim. Bimbim. That's your sound. Back home I had this one good friend named Itogowo. She should be in Atlanta now with her new husband. We used to check each other and measure. It is important to know your friend’s sound. That way, when you lose her, you can always remember some path back.

Moxie: I ain't never checked no pulse like that before.

Immediately after this play ended my brain went "I need more of this and now" (fortunately this is the first of 9 plays). I absolutely adored Sojourners and its portrayal of the hellish complexity that's involved in carving out a life as an immigrant. I cannot think of a theatre project as ambitious as the Ufot Cycle and I'm very very excited to see it blossom over the coming years.
