Reading this on a cold and snowy winter day was a good decision which intensified my need for summer... Yes, wonderful, sunny, warm summer, pls come back to me! >_____<
This 3rd volume most of all was entertaining and such a light read. No harsh and heart-breaking drama. Of course, there’s still the problem of the characters turning to sea foam and there’s still Mellow plotting whatever he plots but somehow this wasn’t put in the center of attention. The story mostly focuses on the boys and girls, their friendship and complicated feelings for each other. There’s Moana, there’s Arashi, there’s still Naru and there’s Ryou with his very own secrets. I enjoyed each chapter as they were funny to read and also interesting... but if one hopes for some kind of great development in this volume..., it doesn’t come. It’s only at the very end that we see Mellow and Loa again, and oh surprise, another friend of Naru gets turned human. Honestly, it seems turning the merfolk enemies human is Mellow’s magic bullet XD Not very wise. But this time, there’s no bargain made.... So I’m confused where’s the beef?
Anything else..., well, I adored that cute kind of side story of Naru and Ryou during their summer trip. They meet a young merwoman who’s bargained to become human because she’s fallen for Yuuya, a super cute guy who works at an aquarium. This story was extremely and overly precious!
I also liked how I learned more about Moana and through her about Naru. Plus, a teeny weeny bit of info about Arashi whom I like very much, character wise and I wish he’d tell Nami about his true feelings, finally! //grunts
Anyways, I’m looking forward to read volume 4 and hope for a bit more development of any kind.
