This informative book chronicles the life of geographer E. Reclus.
It provides a good account of his life but could better explain his books and approach to geography. Most modern papers and books focus on Reclus's contribution to anarchist ideology. Dunbar's book is one of the rare ones that examines his career in geography more closely.
I wouldn't recommend this book to a wider audience—only to those interested in the history of geography and the somewhat peculiar life of Reclus.
