Chase is a student with almost none social skills. He doesn’t need anything more than his books but his thesis advisor says he needs to expand his horizon. His thesis lacks of something that only experience can provide. When Chase meets outgoing gorgeous London he finds what he is looking for. It’s a sweet story of awkward beginnings but I like that it is portrayed in a different light.
*** Chance is getting his thesis in order, but his mentor keeps finding fault. Chance can't help being the way he is, he has chosen to stay away from people, and at 25, is a virgin. He has no clue what a boyfriend, a kiss, or anything feels like. Grabbing the bull by the horns, he tries a hook-up app. London meets him at a bar, and they go to his hotel. London gives Chance what he asks for, but no feelings were involved and it was disappointing.
Now his new roommate is due, because he lost his old roommate, and needs another. Well, it's London who shows up bags, cat and body, as his new roomy.
So, slowly they get to emotions, and Chance realizes what he has been missing. It's a quirky man, Chance, a solid guy, London, and the cat is gorgeous. See what this journey is like. You'll laugh and root for them. ENJOY !
A generous 2.5 stars ...A new author for me with this book which can be read as standalone. The start of the book was meh between the characters I almost gave up but I continued reading. I didn't feel their connection or feelings at all. The promise of a one nighter storyline leads to a surprise with his new house person moving in. Chase was a virgin but he soon gets an education with the help of London. Okay sexy scenes included with the odd spanking. An okay ending but a tad boring over all. Chance was a student and teacher assistant who was having problems with a writing project about sex. Chance was a virgin at 25 yrs which had something to do with it since he hides himself away. Taking a chance lol he posts an website add for a one night stand. London is new in town and replies to Chance's post.
Straight into my DNF shelf. The sex was boring, the characters were boring, the dialogue was boring. Just....boring. I don’t know if it was because I had just finished reading an awesome 5 star novel before this one and I went in with high expectations or what.
Academic main character who did not like people and so not great at socialising meeting his opposite in every way. Writing flowed easily yet really displayed the stilted quirks of MC. Told from Chance’s perspective.
Chance is a virginal introvert. He's very set on his academic life and not interested in having a social or romantic life. Needing help on his thesis he decides to have a one night stand with a stranger. Not wanting to get attached and wanting to have the ordeal go as quickly as possible he lies to his hookup bit karma comes back to bite Chance in his ass and his one night stand turns out to be his new roommate.
This was a really good quick read. And funny! I really enjoyed getting into Chance's head and the banter with London was very entertaining.
I know Chance was very good at keeping people at a distance and not sharing himself with others. But at 25 years old some of his behavior was a bit unbelievable. He seemed a bit too clueless about things. Other than that I really enjoyed this book and was a bit sad when it was over.
Normally I love them, in fact until now I haven't found one I wouldn't re-read.. I won't be picking this one up again. For the fourth book in the series to read so..... Weirdly, was surprising. I can't think of the correct word for how this reads to me.
It annoyed me, no real depth into the characters were given. Honestly I'd think this was his first ever story, it has great potential but to be predecessed by the stories in this series, makes me shocked at how little character development this had. It seemed to rush and bounce things around. Interesting, but not enough to keep you interested.
This is the only book going back from the his most recent (two straights to many) that I haven't loved thoroughly, so obviously, I'm ending this review and going to the next book on the list hoping for a return to what was normal for him
My first time was such a beautiful addictive written story i loved it
Following chance's journey I felt everything he was going through
I was proud of chance for going out of his comfort zone his story was a exciting one but intense one too
My heart hurt at times but also got put back together again
I was hooked from beginning to end of my first time I couldn't put the book down
I love this series I would recommend this story and the series to other people I love this series so much I'm looking forward to what romeo Alexander as next for us
I voluntarily reviewed a advanced readers copy of this book
Another great story in the Opposites Attract series. You just need to take a chance on it! Chance is the introvert who has had his head in the books. Not experiencing much of life but just pushing through to get to the next stage of life. That includes not being experienced in the bedroom. After a suggestion to live more and explore the social aspects of life he meets London. London is the out-going opposite of Chance. What was supposed to be a one night only becomes complicated. This book merges the two with a bit of sweetness and humor. It's another great addition to this series and definite recommend. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
A great story about personal emotional intelligence and development told by the snarky English grad student Chance.
Struggling to make progress on his thesis and with the urging of his mentor to try some new experience Chance decides to arrange a one-night to lose his virginity. But Chance being Chance manages to do it all in a detached, stuck-in-his-head kind of way with the absolute perfect partner you'd want to have your first time with.
London is the most outgoing, glass half full kind of guy full of understanding and patience.
When Chance is abrasive and curt London bites back which gets them into some fantastic banter. It was beautiful to watch London pull Chance out of his shell.
This was a cute story about an unlikely twist of fate that changes the course of two young men's lives. One character is a shy, yet kind of harsh English major working too hard on his future and not living his present. The other is a smart and sexually adventurous trust fund kid who spends all his time reveling in the present with no thought to the future. Clearly, they both have a lot to teach one another. I really enjoy Romeo Alexander's story-telling and characters. I will REREAD this book all over again sometime soon.
It ended so suddenly and poorly. Is there a continuation? I sure hope so. I really liked this story. Characters were interesting. Seeing them evolve was nice. I do recommend this book. Sorry for the ending.
3.5* This was a really light read. I absolutely loved the blunt, grumpy and antisocial MC, the dry humor and the banter. Overall, it lacked a little spark, despite having potential in spades, but I still enjoyed it.
This is another cute short story by Romeo that I enjoyed would have been great if it was longer, it just getting to the fun part and it ended still cute though.
