What do you do when the past you've been desperately running from finally catches up to you? Do you walk away from the life you've built and the woman you love, or do you fight?

Gray Landry was born and raised in the Hell's Minions Motorcycle Club. Living under his father, Mayhem's brutal thumb, his dream was to someday get away. When the chance to leave for ten years comes along, he jumps at it. The only problem with leaving the club is he will be leaving his younger brothers behind too.

Fast forward ten years...

Gray's life is everything he could have hoped for. He has his own successful guns and ammo business. He's married to a beautiful woman named Kendal. She's loving, intelligent, strong, independent and one kick-ass mechanic. And lately, she's been talking about babies.

Then, one day the phone calls start coming. Mayhem is demanding Gray come back. His time is up. It's time to return to Hell. To Mayhem. But how does he walk away from the one thing that makes life worth living?

Not surprisingly, Mayhem forces his hand-come home or Kendal will suffer. Left with no other choice, Gray walks away, leaving his wife stunned and heartbroken.

As Gray's new life moves forward, he sees the toll his decisions are taking on his wife and his heart bleeds. He knows if he ever wants to keep her safe and win her back, he'll have to team up with his brothers and take down Mayhem once and for all. It won't be easy with his father wreaking havoc, but they were going to end it or die trying.

I write dark, steamy MC romance because I love a strong, take-no-prisoners alpha male. I love how when he sets his sights on a woman, there isn’t anything he won’t do to make her his. I love that the road to them being together can be rough at times, but that only makes it that much sweeter when they finally get together.

I had a lot of reservations going into this book but I ended up pleasantly surprised with the story and characters. I do wish we saw some more groveling from Gray but in the end I didn't hate his character and was happy with the outcome of his plans.

SPOILERS

My rating: 2 stars

What I liked: I liked the side characters. I liked how Grey(H) got tortured by his dad especially after everything he put Kendall(h) through. I think the only thing I liked about Grey was at least he didn’t have sex with anyone.

What I didn’t like: There was a lot so I’m just going to list the main ones:
1. Why did Grey keep his past a secret, he said it was keep Kendall safe but guess what it didn’t work
2. Why didn’t Grey not tell her about everything when he went ahead and did it anyway when he sees her moving on
3. Why the divorce papers……how did that help especially if he wasn’t going to go through with it.
4. Grey was a straight ass so he is allowed to kiss ow (2 different ow) and Kendall wasn’t allowed too (if he was supposed to sell the idea that they weren’t together why not let her have om)
5. Why did he have to kiss the one woman his wife hated
6. Why couldn’t the author let Kendall get with someone since Grey was (at least a kiss from Finn would of been great)
7. Again why would Grey allow the one woman that Kendall hated to give him a blow job especially when it was their anniversary.
8. Why couldn’t he go talk to her when she asked especially after seeing him getting a BJ.
9. Why let Kendall get tortured when she was tortured already by seeing Grey get with ow
10. Where was the grovel?????????? (there is no way I would have sex with a guy after seeing him get a bj from someone I hated.
11. Where was the discussion about STD???? He just got a bj from the town wh*re
12. Why the hell didn’t he bring in his ranger friends when Kendall was kidnapped (so not only do we have an ass of a Hero but a dumb one too)
13. I straight up think this author hated her own h because she straight up got the shitty end of the stick (not only did she suffer emotionally but to see her husband get a bj from the woman she hated, to getting kidnapped, to getting beat, to getting her hand broke and to top it all off getting forced to have sex with Grey’s brother)….. yeah this author doesn’t like her heroine at all.
14. Lastly, after everything their dad did they didn’t even torture him……after everything is said and done the heroine feels guilty……WTF I’m done

How hot was it: 3 out 5

Details/Triggers: H and h are married. H is part of an MC (which for some reason he couldn’t tell the h) was allowed to go on his own for ten years. H’s dad is a mean piss of shit that killed the H’s mom and would beat the H and his two brothers. H’s dad tells him his time is up and that he will have to leave his wife unless he wants his wife to be part of the club (that would mean that the in would be allowed to sex with her front of the club). H starts pushing the h away because he knows his brothers need help and he feels guilty for not being there. H dad sets up fights for H. During one fight H kisses ow that h doesn’t like so he can show his dad that he is all in. He then tells the h that he is going back to club and he wants a divorce. During that time he is seen with a different ow (but that relationship is just for pretend) he does kiss and gropes this ow in front of the club. He sets up a lawyer to proceed with the divorce only to get mad when h decides to move on. On the H and h’s anniversary H’s dad tells ow (that the h hated) that it is the H’s birthday and to give him a blow job. Of course the H allows it and the h walks in on it. The h asks the H to talk to her in private but he refuses. h signs the divorce papers and H gets mad and tells her that he is only doing it to protect her 🙄. Unfortunately, it didn’t protect her because she gets kidnapped and tortured. The stupid H goes with his brothers to meet up with dad. All of them get tortured and the H’s brother is forced to have sex with the h. Of course the H tells the brother that it is ok and to make it good for her 😑. They get saved by the H’s ranger friends and at the end all is well and everyone is happy.

Final thoughts: Maybe if the Hero would of grovel, I would have like this. Maybe if the heroine would of stayed mad at the Hero longer and made him work for her forgiveness, I would have liked this more. Hell maybe if the heroine got with someone else I would of liked this better. Unfortunately, none of those things happen and even though I liked the side characters, this will be the first and last time I read this author’s books.

Hmm I just couldn't get into it

Even though I DNF I gave it 3 Stars because I'm sure it was good for someone and I didn't see any problems besides not being able to get into the book.

Me personally when a book is suppose to be dark I expect to get sucked in from the beginning and keep me intrigued sitting on the edge of my seat. For me this Bombed.

Good luck to this Author.

This was recommended in a reader group I’m in and it was fantastic. Plenty of action, bad decisions and awesome characters. Loved it

Gray!

This was a great new series for me by Shay. Gray is a tough biker straddling both the civilian life and the MC life while protecting his wife. Lots of club drama and sexy scenes too.

This was a 2.5 stars for me. I was not a fan of the writing style with the multiple view points. Did not like the MMC hiding stuff from his wife, pushing her away and then thinking it would not hurt her the things he did. I understand wanting to protect her but come on. Some angst with him trying to push her away and him kissing the ow. He seemed to enjoy looking at the ow giving him a bj and having no problem with the act. The FMC walks in on him getting the BJ at this point he should have made an effort to check on her. He did not grovel enough for that act alone and then to calmly tell the FMC that he had to kiss and feel up a different girl to make it look believable. Still didn't grovel enough. I could not believe the FMC was such a doormat. I'm sorry even if he was doing it in my best interest I don't think I would have jumped into having sex with him again so soon after seeing him get the BJ. Glad I only paid .99 for this book

I'm so bummed - I had to stop at 57%... I just couldn't continue with the frame of mind I was at... I was not caring for the hero - he was making me extremely angry. I knew there was a reason for why he was doing what he was doing, but at the time, I just didn't want to read about it. Someday I hope to try and reread it again with a different frame of mind because I know this book has fabulous reviews, but it just wasn't doing it for me. Maybe it just wasn't for me.... But I hope to give it another shot someday. With that said, I'm marking it as "DNF" and not giving a star rating as I did not finish it in it's entirety and I don't feel it's fair to give a star rating for a book I did not finish.

Great book

This book has so much going on, rival motorcycle clubs; demented, deranged father; retired military brothers, family lost, kidnapping, plenty of twists and turns, action packed, some intrigue and plenty of romance. The main characters love, fight, break up to try and save each other, one fantastic storyline filled with thoroughly interesting characters. Well worth your time to read, I can't wait to read the next installment of this series.

Well written

I loved the writing of this book, loved the multiple points of view - this was dine really well.
I could not unfortunately connect with the storyline. I hated what Grey did and felt he could have done things in a different way, and I hate tgat Kendal forgave so quickly. That is just my opinion.
Over all as I said it was well written and I stuck it out to see Mayhem get his just reward.

I started this book last night, and was hooked! I could not put it down! My husband had to pry my kindle from my hands and put it away.
There is intrigue, mystery, a dark streak, real romance, broken hearts, brother hood, and a HEA with the Hero conquering his dragons and rescuing the Damsel.

Truly a great beginning for what I have no doubt will be an amazing series, bring on book 2!

Has everything that you would expect from a breath taking love, to an evil man who seeks revenge most foul. Loved the whole plot and the way it all came together to make the novel fighting back.... look forward to reading further books in the series.

This was a solid read until you get to the 85% mark then it turns into a mess. All 3 brothers and Kendall deserve to die over the ridiculousness of her kidnapping and their rescue.

Just loved the book...I'm a sucker for MC books, nice twist. Did not see it coming!

I'm not new to the whole MC thing, not my first rodeo, but Shay had me guessing there. Like I said...nice twist!! Can't wait to read the next one!
