Surprises

Three excellent stories. One with the past coming to bite Harry in the butt. Someone is trying to kill him. There are twists to the story and the savior is a surprise.
Emoji is the second murder and the beginning is straight forward but you add in the twists and the killer is a bit of a surprise. Harry has a few surprises happening in his personal life. But the book has plenty of action and many changes is Harry’s career and this murder just add to his personal life and decisions.
The final story will keep you alert and make you wonder who the killer is. The ending is a surprise but it is a justified end
I recommend this book and the rest of the series!

Can't Get Enough of Harry Starke

Have read all twelve books of this series and thoroughly enjoyed every one. Harry has an interesting background which supports his persona well. It's good old fashioned investigating. The characters are familiar and you can anticipate their responses to given situations. Each book has a different twist with plenty of action, but can be read separately. Entertaining, satisfying, the good guys prevail. Highly recommended.

CALAWAY. JONES.
I love all of his books, and this is another winner. Even in prison Harper, is out for revenge, calling in Shady to get a job done. First has to be mental anguish for Harry, and wife Amanda, before killing. Harry has his job cut out for him, to keep family safe and find the assassin. The plot flows, characters you will love. Each can be read separately. Awaiting the next one in the series.
EMOJI
two months since he's been in the office, he doesn't want to go back. Enough is enough, but others not listening, he's 47, they are expecting their first child, life was a gift, after his close call with death.
Chattanooga students being killed, the nightmares have come again for him. He knew he would be haunted till he could put her to rest. Another fast pace story, that draws you in. Feeling the emotions of Harry, as he fights with himself doing what he needs to do. Readers will enjoy another good story as they all are in this series.
HOODWINK
Isla a prominent Dr. news saying she died from a fall off her horse. Harry was a close friend of her husband. Curiosity he goes to the autopsy, Lt.Kate is there, and wondering, why he is, then he knows, the husband is a suspect. Jim was a pussycat, he appreciated life, a vet. Harry, tired of being semi retired and a pencil pusher, trying to write a book. Wants to
dig into the case, something wasn’t right, and it was bugging him. Kate, is like a pit bull, and doesn’t want Harry anywhere near the case. The lawyer Harry recommended think’s Jim is guilty, also. Interviewing the husband, opens another whole scenario, which surprises Harry. They can find plenty of players, but no evidence. This was a great plot, the characters are all there, like a chess game, but who is going to win. The outcome is surprising, Harry is stunned. He did a fabulous job with this story, readers won’t forget it.

Hoodwinked (The Harry Starke Novels Book 12), my forty-third read from author Blair Howard.

Apocalypse (The Harry Starke Novels Book 13)., my forty-fourth read from author Blair Howard.

Aftermath (The Harry Starke Novels Book 14), my forty-fifth read from author Blair Howard. Well-written and enjoyable, edge-of-your-seat detective fiction, thoroughly entertaining! I always look forward to the next work from Howard. A Blair Howard book is like a visit from an old detective friend. I received a free Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." Tom Lennon’s excellent narration to the enjoyment of an excellent book. The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

I love this Harry Starke series. Blair Howard is a master of his genre. The characters he has created have come to be as familiar to me as real people. They are well rounded with personalities one comes to know well after just two or three books, but after 12 - I know them well. In this set of three, Harry is struggling to come to terms with the life he had led and the things he has seen. He is suffering a form of PTSD and is losing his will to continue. The love!y Amanda gives him everything he needs, but in the last case, his instinct, his "second sight" let's him down. Fortunately the lovable geek, Tim sets things right just in time. I'm so glad there's another set of three books to read. I'm just about to start on them!

The series just gets better and better
This box set includes three full-length books: Hoodwinked, Emoji and Calaway Jones. These three books continue the Harry Starke saga. This series is great, well written with complex characters and an entertaining storyline. Fast-paced and full of action, this is a great series. Once you start reading, you'll find them hard to put down. I read a reader copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.

The Harry Starke Collection Books 10-12 is a great collection of three entertaining murder mysteries. This collection includes Calloway Jones, about an assassin after Harry. Emoji is about a murdered girl. Hoodwinked is about a friend of Harry’s who is accused of killing his wife.

The narrator, who narrates the entire series, does a terrific job with the books.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.

I'm Hooked

I haven't written a review before because I can't come up with the right words. But I love the Harry Starke series. I like all the characters. There's great suspense and twists that I don't see coming. Harry's tough and driven but has a good heart. Can't wait to start the next book.

Twists and turns

Harry finally lost yet won. His trademark gut failed him this once! Expecting him to pull another rabbit from his hat kept tension mounting as every avenue became a dead end; and then he snapped back as people reading skills kicked in and he solved yet another case. Nicely twisted.

Another Winner

The stories just keep getting better, the plots more intricate. The last one in this group involves a close friend ofStarke being accused of murdering his wife. Only Harry believes in his innocence. The ending has a great twist.

On a side note, I do wish the author would hire a competent copy editor. The myriad of mistakes and typos are distracting.

Good

Another good book from Howard Blair. I love Harry Stark series he is down to earth and doesn’t give up until he’s solved the problem. This one is different from the other ones where he is trying to prove his best friend innocent when everyone else thinks he’s guilty. There are lots of twists and turns in this book and well worth a read

Still shaking my Head

I am truly astonished when I read books and stories in the Harry Stark series by Blair Howard. When you are an avid reader such as I am, it becomes more difficult to find masterful authors that keep my interest. Yes I do read that many books on a regular basis. I am pleased to announce that Blair Howard has become one of my favorite authors!

Having read Michael Conolly's "Harry Bosch" series ; I can honestly say that Blair Howard's Harry Starke series were hard to put down once I started to read them. I finished all 12 books in less than 2 weeks. Blair is one author that will remain on my "must read" list.

Excellent series

I have read this whole series and care about the characters.
That is one of my measures of a good book. I found the plots unpredictable and enjoyed the swiftness of the story unwinding. I will watch for more Blair Howard works.

Harry Starke 10 to 12

I am hooked. The Starke series is addictive. The stories are well written. Yes the good guys win in the end but do not always come out unscathed. This is my favourite read at the moment.

Book 12. What happened ....?

To the children. Tansy and James. I feel that this book has no roots put down.... that there was more that should have been said. Love reading these but have the sense that each book is less well rounded, with book 12 being a perfect example.
