She has her entire life planned out...he was NOT part of that plan!

Celeste Teller is a big city attorney from Los Angeles with her eye on the big prize of managing partner but there’s a major speed bump in the road to her dream job. She’s going to have to spend some time getting the firm’s branch in Denver, Colorado in order before she can prove she’s got what it takes to manage the firm’s Los Angeles branch.

Just a quick detour is all…That is, until she meets the firm’s biggest Colorado client, Drake Fulton. Owner of the largest craft brewery in Colorado and sexy as hell rancher in his spare time. Drake makes no pretense regarding his opinion of Miss Teller, just a flighty city girl with all the wrong priorities who wouldn’t last a minute out in the real world.

In her efforts to make sure the expansion of his brewery gets off the ground without a hitch she suddenly finds herself out in the middle of the woods trying to prove herself to a man that she finds both attractive and more than frustrating! What happens when she finally reaches her breaking point with the opinionated and sexy Drake Fulton?

This is a full-length novella with plenty of steam, no cliff-hangers or cheating and a HEA.

I really enjoyed this quick read. The characters, Celeste and Drake, were extremely lovable and their banter was flirty and fun! I always love the dual POV. This was a well written, lighthearted romance that leaves you with good feels in the end. It was an extreme pleasure to read!
I received this as an ARC in return for my honest review.

A very sweet and passionate romance. A nice storyline and plot. Well written with unexpected twists. I like that is shows opposites can attract each other. Characters well described and very likeable. They have had bad experience in past relationships and that makes them very careful with their hearts. This older man/younger woman romance is passionate, has hot scenes but still written with a lot of heart.

I read this book as part of an arc program. This was a cute romance between Celeste, a lawyer from LA and Drake, a rancher from Colorado. When Celeste was offered a [partnership with her law firm, she had to leave LA for Colorado, but she hoped to return to LA as soon as she could. Celeste was given Drake as a client. Drake ran a ranch and a microbrewery. Drake wanted to expand the brewery and needed Celeste to help with the permits. The first day they met, Celeste was stuck in the snow and dressed in a short skirt and heels. Drake thought she was another superficial spoiled princess like his ex-wife and decided to give her a hard time. When Celeste stood up for herself and refused to back down, Drake asked her to go camping with him up the mountain. Celeste wanted to prove to Drake she could do things for herself and accepted the challenge. They hiked up the mountain for the weekend and continued to fight the whole time. Soon they couldn't fight their attraction to each other anymore and gave into their desires. Soon more was at stake and Drake had to decide if he could take a chance on Celeste, knowing she wanted to leave and he couldn't. I liked this book, I thought Drake and Celeste surprised each other. I thought they had great chemistry and were good together. Good one.

His new attorney on her way back to California???
by Marlene D.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Celeste was in Colorado only because this was the way to make senior partner at her LA based law firm, being seen as a stepping stone to bigger and better clients...so she is here until there is an opening in the upper ranks in her home town. Drake is a rancher, and owner of a very successful micro-brewery that is expanding in the countryside of rural Colorado. He is divorced from his former high-school girlfriend after she decided she wanted the lights and excitement of Hollywood. Celeste inherited Drake as a client, drove to his ranch to meet with him, using her convertible Mercedes, wearing stilettos and a business suit. Of course the weather changed as was normal in Colorado in the fall. Getting stuck in the snow was not on her agenda, but a man came by and gave her assistance, only to find it was Drake....and the sparks started to fly at once...but you will need to read this insta-lust story to see what happens...

Customer Review
5.0 out of 5 starsMore than a city girl!!
By sewsummore on 23 April 2018
Celeste was a LA lawyer on track to a Managing Partner position with her firm but that meant she would have to move to Denver to take over from a lawyer there who was retiring and they needed someone with her expertise for the job. It was a far cry from the busy LA streets and not only due to the weather. Business in Denver was more personal and that meant she had to convince her client that she was more than a flighty city girl. Determined to prove that there was more to her than a pretty face she agrees to go on a three day camping hike into the mountains with her new client Drake. This was a very entertaining read from the beginning, the characters were skillfully written full of sass and bravado, the storyline compelling with just the right amount of spice. I recommend this book as a good read.

Alexis Winter is an excellent author and has proven again her skill in writing a story so compelling I couldn't put it down. Drake is a handsome rancher/brewery owner who dislikes city girls because they remind him of his ex wife and the terrible mistake he made marrying her. Celeste a beautiful ambitious attorney has been sent to Denver to work with Drake on the expansion of his brewery. Although Celeste doesn't make the best first impression, she is determined to prove her worth so she can return to LA as a full partner. Drake is intent on proving that Celeste belongs in the city and could never adjust to the hardships of country living. To prove his point Drake invites Celeste on a camping trip to which she agrees to. During this trip the attraction between Drake and Celeste ignites. Can a spoiled city girl and an arrogant country jerk make a relationship work? Pick up this fun entertaining read to find out.

Celeste is an attorney trying to earn a partnership in the LA office. She was given an assignment to the Denver office to "earn the partnership". The most important client is Drake Fulton. He is in the process of trying to expand his business. Celeste meets with him and during the meeting (for which, she was not appropriately dressed for the weather, she realizes that she is physically attracted to him. At the next meeting, she tries to dress according to the weather and the surrounding area. She works beside him and he tells her exactly what he is trying to do. He also invites her on a hiking trip to continue the conversation. During the camping trip, their attraction to each other heats up. Is she willing to stay in Denver or continue to pursue her dreams of a partnership? The book has a HEA and I would recommend it to everyong.

Love an older man/younger woman story especially when it’s HOT with sexual tension
Celeste is a corporate lawyer aiming for partner in one of the most prestigious law firms in California. She is also born and raised in California and even looks like your typical surfer girl: blonde with blue eyes, plus stiletto-wearing, couture-dressing. Her firm transferred her to Colorado, of all places, to help a client expand his brewery business. This client is an older, beautiful specimen of manhood with a body sculpted by the hard work of running a ranch, Drake, who had already lost one wife to California and the big-city-life.
Celeste and Drake rub each other the wrong way because of preconceived ideas of the other from the very start…until they’re rubbing each other in other ways, wink! In a fit of anger, they attack one another in the woods, lips-locked, and what happens next is priceless.
Good book that I couldn’t wait to get back to when I was interrupted by work/life. I volunteered to review an ARC and it comes highly recommended for lovers of the older man/younger woman plot.

Really enjoyed this book. This is basically a book about opposites attracting. Drake is a rancher and loves his quiet life in the mountains. Celeste is a girl from California who enjoys her life in the big city. Celeste is in Colorado in order to make partner in her law firm. To her, this is simply a stepping stone in her career. As soon as she can, she plans to get back to California where she belongs. Drake does not like city girls because they remind him of his ex-wife, a famous model. Both characters are strong and neither are willing to admit their feelings and constantly antagonize each other. However, the temptation becomes too strong when Drake convinces Celeste to go on camping trip with him. Can Drake convince her that just maybe there is more to life than being in the big city? And is she beginning to think getting back to California might not be in her life plans anymore? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Celeste is a corporate lawyer from L.A. wanting to make to make partner at the prestigious law firm she works for she accepts an assignment to a client in Colorado who wants to expand his microbrewery company. She is a total city girl. Her first mistake is she shows up in a short skirt and high heels. It's fall in Colorado, and the weather is unpredictable it could snow anytime. Driving to Drake's ranch she gets stuck in the snow. Drake already has a low opinion about California due to the fact that his high school sweetheart whom he married left him to move to Hollywood for more excitement. He gave Celeste a hard time about her choice of clothing, but she stood up for herself and argued right back. They did not like each other but they were also attracted to each other. Will they fight it or give into it and what will happen between them when they do. This is a short fun read that I enjoyed.

Celeste is an upcoming attorney in California and trying to make partner. She is sent to Colorado to assist their top client as he wants to expand his brewery company. She thinks that if everything goes as planned in Colorado when she returns to LA she’ll get the partnership. When Drake and Celeste meet it’s instant dislike. She thinks he’s stubborn and pigheaded and he thinks she a big city princess. He has a ranch that he works when he’s not working at his brewery that keeps him fit and muscled and she notices but tries not to. He sees her as his ex wife who took off for the big city and didn’t like the ranch or Colorado. The two are bickering back and forth until a hiking trip changes that. Will the two figure out that opposites attract?

Another great story from Alexis that you don't want to put down

Can total opposites attract and make a go of it

Drake owns a brewery and is a country boy in fact he can be quite dogmatic about it he wants nothing to do with city girls been there done that and has the divorce papers to prove it. Alexis is on the fast track to been a senior partner in her law firm she just needs to work with this rancher/brewer client she has inherited from another lawyer. When she falls foul of Colorado's changing weather she is rescued buy a total hunk too bad it happens to be her new client with a chip on his shoulder the size of the rockies. Will these two opposites be able to work together and what about the attraction between them will they fight it or give in and get a HEA

I as given an ARC of this book but this is a true and honest review

I will not restate the plot nor reveal any spoilers in this review.
Alexis Winter knows how to write a book you can't put down and DRAKE: A ROCKY MOUNTAIN ROMANCE is proof. Drake is a Colorado native who has "been there, done that" and is satisfied staying close to his roots while Celeste, a southern California girl, is out of her comfort zone in the mountains of Colorado. The two are like oil and water as they tried to forge a working relationship. Drake can't resist needling Celeste about her city ways and Celeste dishes out her snarky attitude in return. What follows is a romantic comedy as the two get to know each other in the wilds of Colorado. The author made me feel like I was on the sidelines watching my friends fall in love. A feel good, laugh out loud romp!

I received this book as an arc book. This book was a quick read and moved quickly. Celeste was born and raised in Southern California. She has beauty and brains. She had worked hard to accomplish her dreams of becoming a managing partner in her law firm. He world is turned upside down once she is sent to Colorado. She decides this is just a bump in the road to accomplishing her dreams. She didn’t figure on meeting Drake, her new client with a homebody that enjoys his isolation. With his reservations about falling in love again, and her determination to become a managing partner in her law firm in California...could these two possibly find their soulmates?

What does a Los Angeles city lawyer and a Colorado rancher have in common? Nothing, but everything. Drake has not let another woman into his life since his ex-wife Vanessa. He loves living in the country. His ex-wife Vanessa hated it. His lawyer is retiring and the firm assigns a new female lawyer to him. A female that totally turns his life upside down. They are at each other‘s throat‘s and seem to not get along, but at the same time, they are drawn to each other. One weekend on a hike in the mountains is all it takes. Great book. Love the snarkiness that goes back-and-forth between Celeste and Drake. Romantic. Love an I can’t live without you kind of book.

I love a good enemies-to-lovers story and this one by Alexis Winter, is a good one! It's also an opposites attract and an inappropriate working relationship, as Celeste is Drake's legal council, assisting Drake with permits and such, as he is expanding his brewery. This is a cute story with humor, wit, great repartee and banter. Celeste didn't make the best first impression, when Drake basically rescues the ill-prepared Celeste, and he uses every opportunity to remind her that she is a "princess." I believe that romance readers are going to enjoy this charming, witty and steamy romance. I received this book as an ARC and I volunteered this review.

Celeste moves to Denver replacing a retiring partner and meets their biggest client Drake Fulton.
Celeste is offered a promotion to partner but it means leaving LA and moving to the Denver office where their main client is Drake Fulton. Drake's ex-wife hated living in Colorado and he hated LA and his first impression of Celeste is colored by this so he sets about pushing her hard about life in Colorado. Then he challenges her to go on a weekend camping trip into the mountains and finds things changing between them. A sexy romance to snuggle down and enjoy.

Another great plot that is well written and has great characters that is a quick fast paced read from this author. Celeste a beautiful ambitious attorney trying to make partner and has been sent to Denver to work with Drake on the expansion of his brewery. Dake is a rancher/brewery owner who dislikes city girls because they remind him of his ex wife. Needless to say they detest each other from the start with their own predecieved notions. Can opiates attract and compromise to get the job done and maybe even have a hea.

I found that I enjoyed the book Drake well enough. It was a quick sweet read. The thing that is hard with such quick reads for me is sometimes it'a bit rushed or almost like something is missing. This book started off a little slow for me with the sort of back story. I did quite enjoy the by play between Drake and Celeste. I only wish the book would've went a little farther as it ended with more of a happy for now feel.

Great Read

Celeste is a LA Lawyer who has worked hard to get where she is and is sent to Colorado to oversee Drake’s finances and properties. When they first meet they can't stand each other. Drake's thinks Celeste is a self absorbed socialite and Celeste thinks he is a arrogant jerk. But there is a definite attraction between the two. This is a great story so follow along to find out what happens between the two.

One terrific book! The main characters are lovable, antagonistic, in your face and scared to death! Drake is sure this woman Celeste will never cope with Colorado - with snow, with him. She is equally sure he can't cope with an intelligent, knowledgeable California female. A hike in the mountains shows both of them how wrong they were and how right they are. Fear is a great equalizer and they have been equals all along but didn't see it. Well written, humorous, touching and just a tad on the naughty side. Well worth the cost and read. Find out for yourself, I'm sure you will love it!

I was looking forward to reading this new series by Alexis Winter. Book 1 is Drake and Celeste’s story, an older guy angry and hurt by a past love and a younger woman sent to Colorado for 12 months to work with a promotion and bigger perks on her return. With being his lawyer they fall in lust hard which then turns into love and showing us that age and opposites don’t matter. This is a really good book and I enjoyed following their journey and I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I received this book as a arc for my honest opinion.

This is a quick and fun romance read. There's a great deal of sass with Celeste which I appreciated. My main issue is that it is a pretty predictable story line and not much character development. That being said, it was still a good book for those short on time who want a quick romance with good humor in it.

Drake has sworn off women after his divorce, all he needs is his ranch and brewery. His new attorney Celeste comes as a shock to him. Another California blonde like his ex-wife, he wants to make her leave it prove herself that she handle the Colorado life. What he did not expect was that he could not handle Celeste. Celeste is so head strong and stubborn. Her constant need to prove herself is obsessive. Drake is definitely arrogant at first but than once you get to know him you see that really he’s just been through the ringer in the love department and is on guard. These 2 are a great fit! The constant challenge is exciting. I highly enjoyed this one!!

I love this story, wonderfully written with a well-developed and consistent plot. It is an enjoyable sweet romance story that moves along at a brisk pace. The plot is well-developed and consistent. It is funny, witty and the dialogue is amazing. The characters are deep and could not be more different, but even differences do not stand a chance against love. Quite a refreshing read. These two individuals could not be more different on the surface. Celeste is a lawyer from the city and Drake runs a brewery and loves in a farm in the Colorado mountains. He has tried city life andit wasn't for him. She dreams of heading a law firm in Los Angeles. The sparks fly every time these two are together. Can they have a relationship and be true to their selves? You will have to read to find out.
