When Gage took over his grandparent’s bakery three years ago, love was the last thing on his mind. Despite the best efforts of his wanna-be-matchmaker sister, Emma, he was content to keep his nose to the grindstone, work his ass off, and make the bakery the success he knew it could be.
That all changed the day the neighbor from hell bought the shop next to his and began remodeling, destroying Gage’s well-ordered life in the process. It really was too bad she was so damn gorgeous...
Coming March 2019, Baked with Love is the ninth novel in the Long Valley series, although all books in the Long Valley world can be read as standalones. It has some strong language, and oh my, sexy times. Enjoy!
USA Today Bestselling author Erin Wright has worked every job under the sun, including library director, barista, teacher, website designer, and ranch hand helping brand cattle, before settling into the career she’s always dreamed about: Author.
She still loves coffee, doesn’t love the smell of cow flesh burning, and is currently living out her own love story in a tiny town in rural Idaho.
This is such a good book. I love that Ms. Wright took a sad subject and shows us how women can get past some terrible things that can happen. I couldn’t begin to imagine what Cady went through or how I would deal with everything. It had to be even harder for Cady with no other family or close girlfriends. I was glad to see her remember about the mountain Hannah and her had gone to in college. I thought she as very brave to start the business she did. I loved Gage and his personality. I thought it was great that he wore glasses, but was still such a hunk. He was so patient with Cady and helped her with her fears. I loved the book, and strongly encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.
Cady Walcott had determined that today she was starting her life again. Instead of wasting away in bed all day, afraid of the world beyond her windows, she decided to go to Long Valley for a hike. Her college roommate Hannah Lambert, had brought her here once before, and the tranquility was just what she needed. She perhaps should have called Hannah to meet with her, but she would do that next time. Right now, small steps. Cady had lots of trauma to get past and it was going to take time to rejoin the scary world.
When Cady goes into the town, she sees an empty building next to the Muffin Man Bakery and thinks about starting a business there selling smoothies and health food. Gage, once he starts to know Cady better, seems to understand what she needs and makes it known that he can depend on him. His kind and steady nature is very calming to a woman who just wants to be normal again and unafraid of the outside world.
With her trademark excellence, the author is able to let the reader experience what Cady’s trauma is like. A rollercoaster ride of emotions will keep the reader engaged and provide a bit of understanding as to why Cady is so afraid. Seeing her day-by-day gain trust and confidence gives hope. Yet it could all be lost when she is again attacked. Will she give up, or will Gage be there to keep her steady with the certainty that he will be there always?
Once more, the author’s books are pure magic! She welcomes readers into the town and makes them family! The reader already knows quite of few of the townspeople. Now it’s Gage’s turn for happiness and Cady’s chance to come alive again. Grab your book and don’t miss this one! Your Long Valley family is waiting for you to visit!
I'm so happy that Erin Wright has released a new book. I read it as soon as I got it. She has the gift of being able to tell a story and make you feel like you are right there. I feel like I have a connection with the characters.
Baked With Love is the 9th book in the Long Valley Western Romance series. You don't have to read the other books in the series but you really should. Not only are they fantastic books but you'll gain a lot of insight, as the characters from previous books walk through the books in the series.
Cady has been hit hard by tragedies in her life. She has spent months barely able to get out of bed. Most days she didn't. She rarely left her house. Until one day, shortly after New Years, she gathers up her courage and goes for a hike in Long Valley, where a college roommate had taken her previously. On her way home, she drives through the little town of Sawyer and decides to stop for a cup of coffee. Two things happen. First, she meets Gage, who startles her. Cady reacts out of fear and Gage isn't so impressed with her either. The second thing is that she sees an empty storefront and dreams of buying it and starting a business, which she does. But when she and Gage find out that their businesses are next door to one another, sparks fly, and not the good kind. In fact, at one point, sparks literally do fly.
Can these two put aside their differences and realize that they are just what each of them need? This book is awesome. It is sweet and hot. Erin Wright can weave a great tale.
Having read all the books in this series, I was delighted to read Gage's story. Determined to make a success of the bakery he has taken over from his grandparents, Gage doesn't have much time for a social life, let alone romance. He certainly didn't factor the skittish woman who appears to have more money than sense, that bought the store next to the Muffin Man, into the equation. Even though he is oblivious to her charms, Gage cannot help but recognise that Cady has very real problems, even apart from the fact that she has the whole town up in arms when they find themselves without electricity. Bit by bit Gage wins Cady over and inadvertently stumbles into the reason for her fears. The novel is engaging, well-written with a love story that slowly warms up to a blazing romance, whilst at the same time dealing with some very real issues. As with the other books in this series, there is wit and laugh out loud moments, as well as sorrow, tears and a community that pulls together. I loved Gage's somewhat bumbling efforts to help Cady and his very manly approach to dealing with her past. Cady may seem like a wimp, hiding behind her fears, but having seen the results of similar atrocities, Cady acted very much in character with a woman with so much pain in her background. Whilst I have loved all the books in this series, this may well be my favorite. I received a copy of this novel as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Gage, The Muffin Man" has been in the background of many of the Long Valley books, baking up all his delights. But he has not been lucky in love. He is a workaholic with the bakery he is buying from his grandparents, and it takes a special woman to work their way into his heart (or under his skin, depending on the day). Cady is petite and beautiful but she has so much baggage that it must cost her a fortune to fly! She suffers from depression and agoraphobia after a frightening incident and the untimely death of her parents. Life overwhelms her. When she decides to make a fresh start in Long Valley, Idaho, she buys the run-down shop next to the bakery and sparks fly, and not just from the world's worst electrician that she hires. This books has it all: funny dialog and situations, hilarious phrases, sad stories, emotion and above all, love and romance and steamy scenes. Gage has to have the patience of Job to get past Cady's elaborate defense system, but he loves a challenge, and he love to take in wounded souls. There is wonderful suspense and drama in the last few chapters that help tie up so many Long Valley stories and help Cady finally conquer her fears. You will love this story that is such a heartwarming and emotional addition to the Long Valley series! Small towns at their best
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author via Booksprout. I also purchased a copy as I just love all of the stories of Long Valley.
This was a wonderful addition to the story. The cover model is the perfect one for Gage. It was so easy to picture the scenes that were written almost like a movie script. It flowed so well that it was hard to put down. Ms. Wright just put poor Cady through the wringer with such a past that would make most women just shut down. Cady did for a while but the character had such an inner strength to her. Her inner strength matched Gage's physical strength perfectly.
I loved seeing prior characters making appearances and this story had them coming back in spades. I just love "catching up with old friends". All of the characters just feel like friends that you don't what to say good-bye to. Ms. Wright has given a wonderful depth to these characters that they seem human.
I can't wait to read more of Long Valley, Idaho. I wish I could move to this fictional town.
While this book could be read as a stand-alone, I would start at the beginning of the series to meet all of the wonderful characters. I HIGHLY recommend this story to anyone.
Erin is a very talented storyteller. Her writing style mixes laughable moments and intensely powerful emotions to create an exceptionally good romance. Her novel is beautifully written with a smooth flow that is well edited. She delivers powerful characters that are multi-dimensional and have great chemistry. I was fully engrossed in Cady Walcott and Gage Dyer’s story. Gage is kind, caring and patient while Cady lives in fear and pain and her life is an emotional wreck. She needs Gage’s understanding and love to help her heal. My emotions were like a roller coaster ride, laughing and crying throughout the storyline and cheering at the ending epilogue. I enjoyed the scenes with Skittles and Cream Puffs. Nice to see the villain of this series finally get his due. I love small towns where everyone knows everyone and it is nice to reconnect with characters from other books in this series. I highly recommend this story and this series. I received an Advanced Readers Copy. It was a pleasure to read and review this novel.
Without giving the plot away, this story revolves around Cady, a young woman who has had more than her fair share of trauma in her life. She meets Gage as she is trying to move forward with her life.
Gage has a heart of gold and is there for Cady step-by-step as she works on reclaiming some normalcy in her life.
While the subject matter is serious and tragic, this story draws you in and keep you engaged throughout. Watching Cady grow and regain confidence is inspiring and uplifting, in spite of all that has happened.
Gage and Cody together are really heartwarming!
The town of Sawyer feels like a real small town, with characters from other stories in the series showing up too, which adds so much texture to these stories!
Whether you’re new to the Long Valley series or not, you will be drawn into this story and cheer for Gage an Cady!
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book, however, this is my honest opinion.
I enjoyed this book about Gage and Cady, he owns the Muffin Man bakery, and Cady has bought the shop next door. She's new in town and is trying to rebuild her life after too much personal trauma. Her plan is to start a smoothie and health food business. Unfortunately for Gabe, this will cause him and others some annoyance as the works are carried out.
Their relationship starts slow and Gage does his best to make her feel safe around him and just as she is starting to think everything is going to be OK she's attacked again! Will she be able to get over this latest trama? Is their budding relationship strong enough to help her?
This book does cover some sensitive ground but Erin Wright's way of dealing with it was very well done. We also meet again some of the other people we know from earlier books in the Long Valley series. This book can be enjoyed as a standalone if you haven't read any of the other books in the series.
What can I say about this story without giving spoilers? How about "I loved it and you have to read this one"? This addition to the "Long Valley" series is definitely a roller-coaster ride. After Cady and Gage's first meeting, one would think the two could never be friends. Actually their second meeting isn't very promising either. So, how is that they find themselves drifting into a friendship? Could it be because Gage knows that like a feral kitten Cady needs to handled with extreme care? Is there any chance for the Muffin Man and the Smoothie Queen to have a HEA? Like I said...you need to read this one. I will say that in my opinion Creampuff is the true hero in this story. Although if you tell that to Skittles I will deny it!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Gage Dyer is the town baker. Hey, he’s ripped and he bakes. He’s a dream. But he has a nightmare of a new neighbor, in the utter headcase Candy Walcott. She disses sugar, acts like he’s going to jump her, takes out the entire towns electricity when she hires a cheap electrician off Craigslist.
I loved Gage, the hard working baker. I really didn’t care for Cady. Yes, she has reason to be skittish. But I just wanted Gage with someone extra special.
What I liked? That they got to know each other over months. That Gage cared to always treat everyone with respect. Did I mention he bakes? Highly recommended.

This might be my favorite Erin Wright book so far even though I love pretty much every word she writes. I loved Gage back from Flames of Love, plus we got to see more from Sugar in this book. Cady just, she just instantly found her way into my heart. Just like Gage, I wanted to hug her and tell her everything would be okay, that she was going to be okay. And the way Gage was with Cady just made me love him more. I could go on, but i really dont want to give anything away. This book is so good, even though it's on the longer side, I finished it in a little over a day because I just couldn't put it down. I love authors that write in one world like this, as a reader you feel rewarded to see other familiar characters and places pop up in each and every book.
Cady has a troubled pass and she brought it with her to the town of Sawyer. Her parents have died and she spent six months not being able to get out of bed . She was so down and depressed that she had lived in the the town for a while before she ever called her old college roommate. Cady had bought a store front that just happened to be right beside Muffin Man.which is owned by Gage. Cady become a person who didn’t want to be touched and jump with every little thing. . Gage tried to help her He was so patients with her for a lot longer than most men .. They laughed together and had so much fun but then one night he had done all he could do, so he left it up her.. Will they get there happy ending
Cady has been through a difficult period of her life. After several months down at the bottom of her sorrow, she decided to spend the day up the hiking trails of Goldfork Mountains. She has no idea how that is going to change her life. Gage is happy in his bakery shop, surrounded by coffee aromas, flour, sugar, and other sweet stuff. He has no idea how his life is going to change when “Skittish Girl” enters his shop. Although the book has some serious and hard issues, Erin Wright still manages to make it funny. I love Gage. He is so honest, gentle and caring that you fall in love with him. At the beginning, I felt pity for Cady, but after a while, I saw she doesn’t need it. She is strong enough to get up on her own. However, she needs some help and she is smart enough to ask for it.
Wow, awesome book. Again Ms. Wright gives readers a wonderful story about love and sacrifices made to make it work. Gage has worked hard to take over and make his grandparents bakery a success. He loves baking even tho he’s built like a linebacker. Cady has been through hell over the last few years and is desperate for a new start. So on a whim she buys the storefront next to the bakery. Needless to say she and Gage don’t hit it off. It’s an emotional journey for Cady and one of patience for Gage. There are ups and downs like any true relationship but heartbreaking issues for Cady to get through. I loved this book. I received a complementary copy via Booksprout and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Wright.
Baked With Love is the latest Long Valley book but can be read as a delightful stand-alone. Handsome bakery owner Gage is determined to make a success of the business and romance is not anywhere in his future plans ... that is until the dilapidated shop next to the bakery finally gets sold. This really is a fabulous, easy to read small town Romance. It has so many true to life characters, both new and old, that you feel as if know them. Erin Wright is a very talented author who can weave romance and sensitive subjects together with subtle humour and honesty. Baked with love will both touch your heart and warm your heart. I cannot recommend this book, this series or this author highly enough. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I have been waiting and waiting for Gage's story and it so didn't disappoint. This muffin man is straight out of book boyfriend material.
Cady has had a really tough couple of years. She is trying to dig out of the mess and depression she has been in. Buying a store and moving seems to be a good idea. However, a grumpy man next door, taking down the power grid in the whole town and plain just being an out of towner doesn't start her off on the right path.
Gage has patience of a saint. There wasn't a better person to help Cady get back on her feet. Not only for her business but also her personal life. He didn't pressure her in anything, he waited until she was comfortable with him for her to come to him. He was amazing at being able to read her and know when to back off.
This book had me going through so many emotions with the characters. It's well written, has a fantastic storyline and the characters are amazing. Cady decided to get off the couch and go for a hike in Long Valley. Hannah Lambert is her old college roommate who is now a fifth grade teacher. Cady use to be a physical therapist until a client attacked her. Gage owns the Muffin Man in Sawyer and protects those he loves. He is very muscular but is so gentle with Cady and gets her to open up to him in ways she never has before.

Cady is trying to figth the depression after her parents tragic accident and been sexually attacked. When she come across an old building in Sawyer she see a new purpose in life. She will buy it and start a new live. Gage is busy with the Muffin Man but when he meets the girl who bought the building next door he feels how troubled she is. Can Cady open up to life, happinness, friendship and love again? Gage will help her to overcome her fears and will show her she is worth it. A tough, funny and sometimes sad love story, as life itself
Reading this series I have drooled over and lusted after Gage Dyer, as have almost all of the single women of Sawyer and Long Valley. But it seems one petite new comer who isn’t interested in him at all will catch his attention. Their falling in love story follows a most unusual path, though heartbreaking it is also witty and only proves how right for each other they are. We catch up with a lot of old friends while enjoying a return to this close knit community in a fun enthralling read.

This book shows the strength you have within when something devastating happens. Cady is trying to get control of her life. Cady is afraid of her own shadow, with good reason, and it's Gage that helps her. Gage has been so focused on the bakery that his social life is non existent. Then he meets Cady. This is a sweet romance that touches on some tough topics and how we need to find our strength within. That it isn't weakness to ask for help, whether from friends or a professional. I enjoyed this book and found Gage and Cady likeable characters who we could meet in real life.
Gage is owner of the Muffin Man. Everything decadent and sinful, full of calories. Cady is very reserved and has deep issues she is not willing to share. Cady stops at the Muffin Man only to find the shop next door empty. She has been thinking about opening a smoothie shop, all goodness and good for you stuff. Just the opposite of Gage's Muffin Man. Talk about opposites. Can they work thru that and can Cady open up her heart to anyone. Even as Gage helps her out, will she really let him in.
I LOVE the Long-valley series! Finally Gabe gets snatched by a girl(an out of towner of all things). Cady has a long road ahead of her and given how patient Gabe is he’s just the one to walk beside her and help her through. It can be hard to move on after what she went through but with the help of Hannah and of course Gabe she makes it. Grab a copy so you can see how strong Cady is and how her limits are pushed.
Meh, to the actual story, but I love the interwoven lives of the whole community.
In this episode, the world's sexiest male baker meets a woman who needs to be in a mental facility until she gets the help she needs. Seriously, she needs a kick in the ass because her trauma is disruptive and disrespectful to everyone around her. How nice she can afford to hide in her house, but she should stay there until she gets help.
I enjoyed this book which is part of the Long Valley Romance series but it can be read as a standalone. The book was well-written with strong characters and an entertaining read. A . cute enemies to lovers romance that will keep you page turning. Some fiery language and no shortage of sexy scenes. I read an arc via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review.
I could not put down Baked with Love. I enjoy all Ms. Wright's books, but this one is really special. When I got done all I could think was WOW! Cady just had so much to overcome but big hearted Gage really helps her. The last chapter and the epilogue are really outstanding and the perfect ending to this awesome romance. If you read no other book set in Long Valley, read this one!
It was a long journey for Candy to overcome her tragic past. Gage came along on that journey and was there to support her. As Cady became stronger, so did the love between her and.Gage. Both characters were very lovable. In spite of Cady’s struggle, her and Gage shared a special bond and some very humorous moments. Looking forward to more of this series. I received this ARC for an honest review.
Another fabulous book in the Long Valley Series. This one is about Gage Dyer and Cady Walcott. Cady stops in at the Muffin Man Bakery in Sawyer after hiking in the mountains where she meets Gage. She is scared of him because of his size! From being scared to falling in love is a tough journey for her.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Gage and Cody together are perfect. It was a heartwarming read. The characters are developed and had great chemistry. This book draws you in and keep you engaged throughout. This is the 9th book in the Long Valley series. This is a standalone read, you don't have to read the other books in the series but it is more enjoyable if you do.
