Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay (Bangla: বিভূতিভূষণ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়) was an Indian Bangali author and one of the leading writers of modern Bangla literature. His best known work is the autobiographical novel, Pather Panchali: Song of the Road which was later adapted (along with Aparajito, the sequel) into the Apu Trilogy films, directed by Satyajit Ray.

The 1951 Rabindra Puraskar, the most prestigious literary award in the West Bengal state of India, was posthumously awarded to Bibhutibhushan for his novel ইছামতী.

সাধারণত যাদের লেখা আমার ভালো লাগে তাদের রেটিং দেয়ার সময় পক্ষপাতিত্ব করে একটু বেশি রেটিং দেই। বিভূতিভূষণের এত বড় ভক্ত হয়েও আজকে কিছুতেই রেটিং বেশি দিতে পারছি না। 'মৌরীফুল' ছাড়া আর কোন গল্পই তেমন ভালো লাগে নি। বিভূতিভূষণের কাছে আশা বরাবরই বেশি, তাই হতাশার পরিমাণও হয়ত আজ বেশি।

বিভূতি খুব একটা পড়া নেই। তারপরও যে-কটা পড়েছি, সেগুলোর মধ্যে এইতাইত সবচেয়ে দুর্বল মনে হলো। এই বইয়ের নামগল্প--অর্থাৎ 'মৌরীফুল', 'রোমান্স' আর 'রাক্ষস-গণ' এই তিনটা গল্প পড়া থাকলে বাকি গল্পগুলো আর পড়ার দরকার নেই। (আমার মতে) বাকি গল্পগুলো বোধহয় সার্থক গল্প হয়ে উঠতে পারেনি।

বইটি ৯ টা ছোট গল্প ঢেলে সাজানো। সবগুলোই ভালো তবে মৌরীফুল গল্পটি বিশেষ ভাবে ভেতরে দাগ কেটে গেল।

প্রথম ৪ টা গল্প বেশ ভালো। বাকিগুলো ঠিক সার্থক ছোটগল্প লাগলো না। একটু ডিসাপয়েন্টেড

বিভূতিভূষণ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের উপন্যাসগুলো যতটা মুগ্ধ হয়েছি 'মৌরীফুল' পড়ে ঠিক ততটাই আশাহত হয়েছি।

বইটিতে মোট ১০টি গল্প আছে। এর মধ্যে মৌরীফুল, রোমান্স আর মরিচীকা ভালো লেগেছে। বলা যায় 8.5 out of 10 কিন্তু বাকিগুলো একেবারেই ভালো লাগে নি।
