This book starts out with an introduction to Reed and Hannah and then this author grabs you by the seat of your pants as your racing to catch up to him. You can literally feel the passion flow through each page as your heart races and chills run up your spine.

Hannah has had a difficult past and whilst out with her father, she is captured and put up for auction. reed is a self confessed sadist. he has seen so much evil that he says it has made him evil. he cares only for his own pleasure. But then he sees Hannah and he wants her. And whatever Reed wants, he gets no matter what the price. This is Derek Masters at his best in this dark romance. As she is kidnapped and auctioned off to save her father's life she has no reason to suppose that the man who buys her will be so important to her and her heart. A fabulous, fast paced must have read that will keep you riveted to the book. This is the first in the Owned Series and has certainly convinced me to read the rest of the series! Well???? The cover is hot, really invokes some interest, right? The blurb... catchy, right? Well that's about it for this book, lol. Because I did invest in this one though, got to be fair, I am going to read book 2 asap, who knows? Maybe we'll see some form of action?

Looking forward to reading book two. I’m so interested in Reed’s background. And I’m hoping the second book will delve further into it. Like what happened to Nikki and what’ll happen between Hannah and Reed. I was beyond upset how her father could just allow that kind of resolution for his debts. Hannah definitely shows how tough she is by being put through something so horrific.

This is my first book by Derek Masters and it will not be my last. I enjoyed his writing style, he managed to fit a lot of story into his novella sized book, a story that hooked me right in and held me captive to the end. It is the type of book you can not put down, you just need to know what happens next. This book is the start of “The Owned Series” and what a great start it is. Hannah Sullivan introduces herself in the prologue, she states that this is her story, which it is but it is also Reed’s story too. Reed left the Army after serving six years, he is currently a contractor for the government, helping them with their investigations and weeding out the evil. He is in Vegas now working a job, trying to help capture those responsible for human trafficking. Hannah just graduated college is ready to start a career. She has not had the best of luck, especially when it came to men. Her father owes money to the wrong kind of people and she makes a sacrifice to save his life. Hannah has caught Reed’s eye and when he sees she got herself in a situation he does what he has to do to help. This book is well plotted, it contains drama, twists, action and some suspenseful moments. Reed is a good guy Hannah just needs to see it and learn to trust him. I am looking forward to what happens next in he second book of the series “Bent”. Thank you Derek Masters for this great story!
I listened to the Audible edition, Rodney Falcon is a terrific narrator and voice artist. He brings these characters to life, give them their voices and personality as well as heart and attitude. He sets the perfect tone for the story and does a great job projecting the characters emotions into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧

First off..it’s kind of unclear but this is a series and must be read in order. All of the books are very short novella size books.
I read this book via audiobook. The narrator does this weird thing where every sentence ends with his voice going up almost as if each sentence is read as a question.
The story...where do I start? So girl graduates school. Her Dad wants to celebrate by taking her on a trip but then before they get on the airplane they’re picked up by guys that inform them her Dad has a gambling problem and either they can kill him or take her to sell. So naturally Dad gives her up so he can be set free and go gamble some more without saying goodbye. Meanwhile, hot cop that chases bad guys gets a list of women that are being sold and one girls name sounds familiar. He’s never met her before but because Las Vegas is such a small city he sees her all the time and knows a lot about her. The police won’t do anything to stop the auction. So hot cop goes in and buys her. Then he decides...she’s pretty hot and he’s already spent the money so he mind as well keep her for his own. Then heroine gives her entire life story to her capture day 2. She tells him about every bad boyfriend she’s ever had and he beats them up and takes pictures because why not.. then she finds the pictures and she’s terrified for her life and runs away but he catches her...and oh thank god he did cause really he’s saving her. But, he’s got a secret of his own. He’s a Dom looking for a sub and she would make a really good one. So like day 4 of being captured, sold in sex slavery, bought, escaped, captured again....heroine is TOTALLY into being blindfolded and flogged. Because duh. Who wouldn’t, right!?! 🤯🤯🤯

I can tell that she's the good girl. She's exactly the type of girl that should be staying far, far away from a guy like me. I would corrupt her so badly that she wouldn't remember who she was before I sank my claws into her. Still there was something about her that I couldn't get past. There was something about her that was calling out to me.

The main character for this book is really interesting. I really enjoyed reading the alternating POVs as they showed how each character viewed themselves and each other in the circumstances that they are in, and in that, showed their feelings, trust and emotions towards each other. Interaction is quite realistic as well, given the situation and I am glad it did not go in ways where the female starts behaving unreasonably since she seemed to be a smart character. I do find it irritating that the female character does not seem bothered by her circumstances or how she ended up where she is. Feels like she is strangely devoid of feelings or thoughts at certain point.
Their slowly blossoming relationship is cute to watch as well. The only downside is that the main character's career seems to border on being too convenient for him, and little is written about it eventually. Everything just seemed to be rushed over or briefly mentioned, which feels like a waste, since that was what made the story interesting in the first place.
Narration by Rodney Falcon is well done, he did a nice job in bringing forth the emotions of the characters and the pacing is nice. The calmness suits both characters well.

This one was interesting. It goes back and forth some between past and present for the characters as we get to know them and figure out some of the reasons why they are the way that they are. Hannah has definitely not had things easy and we have just started to get to figure out why though we don't know the full story on why she thinks all men are bad and every man has let her down. Reed is doing contract work for the FBI and working undercover in order to try and take down a sex trafficking ring. He has seen Hannah around town and been drawn to her before but they have never interacted, until she shows up being sold by the guys he is tracking. He decides to purchase her in order to save her since the FBI won't pull her out due to the mission. There seems to be a darker side to Reed, one that we don't quite see the full side of yet, just hints. This is the first book in the series and it does leave on a slight cliffhanger and definitely some questions since we don't have the full story on these characters. The story was interesting and entertaining. It is on the shorter side so was quicker and it kept me following along. It will be interesting to see where things go next.

I absolutely loved this book!! It was fast paced and well written from beginning to end. Kudos to Derek Masters because he really is a master at writing hot sex scenes. Be prepared. LOL!!
The main characters’ Reed and Hannah, are easily likable and I love that the author included a peak into their back stories throughout the book. Although, I am not a fan of cliff hangers, I can honestly say I loved the way this ended, and I cannot wait to see what happens in the next release after Reed catches up with his runaway! After Reed’s hot and darker side showing up in his memories I’m dying to know what he has planned to convince Hannah he’s just trying to protect her. I would almost say I feel bad for our heroine when Reed catches up to her, but I have a feeling she won’t be sorry for long.

Derek Masters is a new-to-me author, so I wasn't sure what I was getting when I picked this up. The blurb caught my attention so I picked it up and started reading it immediately. I'm so glad I did! This is a captivating story from beginning to end, even though it really doesn't end in this book, and I couldn't put it down. In the beginning it had a Beauty and the Beast vibe, only slightly darker, and since that is one of my favorite fairy tales I was intrigued. What followed was more than I expected and then some. The characters were amazing! They had a level of depth that made it easy to understand and love them. The story line had the perfect blend of light and dark, and it was filled with sexy scenes. There is a wonderfully woven love story mixed up in all the darkness that warmed my heart, as well of other body parts, and I didn't want it to end. There is a cliffhanger, but since it is book one of a series it only makes me more anxious to read the next book. I am so excited to have found a new author to add to my one-click list and I can't wait to read more.

Hannah has not had an easy life and it is about to get even worse. In order to save himself, her father gives her to be auctioned off. Reed wants to protect her from this sale, and yet have her for himself. There is only one way to do this, he buys her. That is just where the books takes off running. Hannah and Reed are a very unlikely pair, but the sparks are flying. Hannah is a very storing woman. Her strength amazes me as she faces adversity with a poker face. Reed is a sadist. He thrives on inflicting pain. But can he convince Hannah to try his ways? I was hooked from the auction and I could not stop listening to it until the end. Suspense, action, steam, this book has it all.
Rodney Falcon is amazing in this performance. He brings out the dominance and roughness of Reed. Rodney narrated Reed exactly as I imagined him. Rodney has an easy to listen to voice. His female characters are easy to distinguish and smooth. Rodney brought this story to life and left me wanting more.

Bought is the first book in The Owned Series and it does not disappoint. Classic to Derek Masters style, he takes a common storyline and spins it in such a way that makes it unique and different from anything else out there. The story is very well written and thought out with characters that are extremely likable and strong minded. Hannah is a girl that has a dark past and Reed is the man who wants to protect her when she gets caught up in a bad deal. Little does Hannah know but Reed has a dark side to him as well. Even though this book does end on a cliffhanger, Mr Masters gives you the absolute best ending possible and leaves you hungry for more. I look forward to seeing what the next installment brings us in book 2. Bought is an absolutely fantastic book and up there at the top to being one of my favorites by this author.

Hello dark romance, alpha hero! This start to a trilogy definitely did it's job at pulling me in and keeping me hooked. Hannah is a victim of her father's sins and selfishness. Reed discovers her while he is undercover for the security company he runs while at an auction. Something about her latches onto him and he has to save her. But don't go thinking he is your typical hero. Reed has his own selfish desires too. He wants Hannah, but first he wants to make sure she's safe. Hannah is confused and not willing to trust Reed who keeps her locked in a house. Survival kicks in and she will do whatever she can to survive. This story was fast paced and had a cliffhanger that had me clicking book two right away. This narrator has the perfect voice that sets the mood for this story. A definite read/listen for dark romance fans. I couldn't wait to see what happens next!

The day she graduates from college Hannah's father does not show up for the ceremony. He agrees to meet her for dinner. As they are leaving the restaurant they are stopped by 2 men. Her father has 2 million in gambling debt. The men offer a choice of killing him and getting the 2 million from Hannah as beneficiary of his life insurance policy or taking Hannah. Hannah agrees to save her father. Immediately her father goes back to gamble and Hannah goes to auction by female slave traffickers. Just read the story, you won't be disappointed. It does end in a cliff hanger. What I really want to know is does Hannah's father get what he deserves. He deserves a slow painful end.

Bought is the first book in Derek Master’s new Owned Series. In Bought we meet Hannah, a recent college graduate who instead of celebrating her graduation finds herself ready to be sold to the highest bidder. The highest bidder turns out to be Reed, a dark and dangerous man who has his own reasons for purchasing her. While the story exposes the seedier side of our society, it is definitely an intriguing read. While I found myself quickly devouring the pages, the story never seems rushed. Much darker than any of the other stories that this author has written, it’s by far my favorite of all of his releases. I can’t wait to see what else he has in store for these two.

Hannah is a strong woman who is willing to take what the world gives her and is determined to come out on top, Reed being the alpha male he is has a huge instinct to protect, rather she asks for it or not. Both characters are intriguing and very well developed, there are lead ins to the darker side of both characters. I cannot wait for the next book in this series, the first has left me on the edge of my seat.... I need to know what happens next asap!

Bought is the first book I've read by Derek Masters and I LOVED it!!!
Hannah has lost her trust all together in men and being kidnapped and sold in a auction confirms she can't trust anyone.
Reed is trying to be good but things change when Hannah comes into the picture. He finds his inner demons are starting to surface.
First off I can't express enough how sexy I find Reed to be. He just has that confidence and protectiveness to make a girl swoon. Hannah is a strong woman with a will to fight instead of break. I can't wait to read the next book and find out all of what happens. Easily 5 stars.

First off I can't express enough how sexy I find Reed to be. He just has that confidence and protectiveness to make a girl swoon. Hannah is a strong woman with a will to fight instead of break. I can't wait to read the next book and find out all of what happens. Easily 5 stars.

Good, but short story
I enjoyed “Bought” quite a bit. The story was interesting and exciting and the characters more complex than you would expect in such a short story. I loved the cliffhanger and am actually looking forward to reading the next part. But it was only 10% of this book. Literally 10 percent!!
The other “bonus” stories were good, but that’s not why I bought the book. Just call it a serial or novella and be done with it. If it were advertised as one of those, I’d have given it five stars. Frustrating!

Bought is the first book of the Owned series by Derek Masters. In the this book we meet Hannah who has a hard time trusting males and also Reed the Alpha male with secrets. With the introductions out of the way this books takes you by the pants and you just have to hold on for the ride. I couldn’t put this book down until it was finished. Even though it was a quick read there was enough to keep you wanting more. Certainly looking forward to book number 2 and now one of my favourites from Derek! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Derek Masters did an excellent job at keeping me engaged in the story. Once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down. I haven’t read a story like this before
One is dropped in the middle of a situation Reed is working. He is determined to help Hannah. In doing so, you discover more about each ones past. The future however brings you to a cliffhanger. Waiting patiently for the answers in book 2 of the series.

Interesting start to this new series Owned by Derek Master. Hero finds himself in precarious situation and takes it upon himself to go out on a limb and save a girl from human trafficking who he has only glimpsed from a far.
This first installment little is known of the girl, but fathers duplicity, her well founded fear, naivety, and her escape attempt.
We are warned that there is a cliffhanger, so hopefully more details are coming need to know.
Rodney Falcon is narrator and so far as always outstanding in his narration.

What a great start to this eagerly anticipated series! The story is about Reed, a man who has worked for many government agencies and is trying to take down a sex trafficking ring. Along comes Hannah, a beautiful, innocent young woman who becomes entrapped in a dire situation. Can Reed help her? Does he want to let her go? I am already invested in these characters and can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

Wow! Now that's how you start a Series! Derek Masters has a way of telling you a story that just keeps you wanting more and more! Hannah just graduated from collage excited to start her life with a new job. Reed is ex military now hired contractor for the FBI. Hannah's taken to be sold, Reed buys her to save her. How will this story end, only one way to find out, buy this book! An absolute must read! Looking forward to seeing what happens next in The Owned Series! 💗
