Sir Charles Huxley, a former government minister, kept a dark secret — a secret he should have taken to the grave when he died in 1999. Ok. I freely admit it. I’m loving this series. Very well told tales which spend time on the story rather than pointless description.
Just downloaded number three, looking forward to getting stuck in.

More Clement, and the guy is starting to grow on me.
NOTE: Pearson could certainly do with an editor. The hyper-correction of “and I” rather than “and me” after prepositions is more than a little irritating, and he does it Every Single Time. There’s also a scattering of bear/bare errors. It is also annoying that no one drinks/downs/gulps/anything—they “neck” it. They always “neck” it. Always. But by far, the most obvious (and annoying) is using the strange—to my ears anyway—sat/stood construct. Instead of “He was standing (or sitting) at the bar”, Pearson writes “He was stood (sat) at the bar.” He does this consistently no matter the education level or background of the character, no matter who is talking, no matter what. Arrrrrrrgh!

I came across the first book by accident and loved it
the second it as good if not better
an MP gets himself in some trouble and up steps our hero, the sixties throwback clement
the tale is a great one and the way that clement and Bill interact is great
it kept me gripped and kept me wanting to turn the page !

Another brilliant read from Keith Pearson. Great characters - Clement is my new favourite character - he's hilarious, dry, un-pc and somehow cool even in his seventies double denim. Absolutely loved it and I've already started reading book three....

Wonderful! Clement is quickly becoming my favorite character to spend time with. After the first book,
, I was looking forward to seeing who, besides me, would be the next to experience the joy of having Clement in his or her life. Certainly wasn’t disappointed. The hysterical scene when Gabby first seduces William had me in tears of laughter, the Clement Hotel at the end of book brought tears of a totally different type.
Although this book can stand alone, I would recommend reading the first book first to provide a bit more background on Clement. I can’t recommend either book more highly. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face and a tear in your eye.

Warm
There is a real warmth about Keith’s books. I felt this book was much tighter than the first Clement book; however, the set up and catalyst in the book was filled with holes and did not require Clement to resolve. What the antagonist was asking would have been laughed at, despite the best efforts to make it plausible. Yet, the characters are great and this book - like the other - is well worth a read.

A slow start but brilliant ending
Having read both 86 books and who sent Clement I couldn't wait to read this follow up... who sent clement saw my crying at the ending.
I enjoy the writing style of the author very much but this was a little slow and where I liked Becky very quickly in who sent clement I was a bit slower in taking to William....perhaps that was the author intention...
I rated 4 stars as I wanted a bit more Clement in this book... his background, someone to help him, explaination of why is he stuck....I so want him to get to where he is trying to get to! that said it was still very well written and enjoyable just not quite as "unputdownable" as "Who sent Clement. "
I was so pleased with the ending and I think that what I like that the characters have depth , flaws, challenges and hopes they are easy to like and identify with
I cannot wait for Clements next adventure ...especially if Becky is back in the book as they had brilliant chemistry
The sort of book that would make brilliant TV .. reminiscent of life on Mars perhaps...

This might be one of the strongest Clement books yet. It has everything I enjoy about Keith A. Pearson. The humour lands, the characters feel alive and the emotional beats are surprisingly effective. What really hooked me was not knowing how any of it was going to resolve. The sister angle creates a genuine “how is Clement supposed to fix this” feeling and that uncertainty carries the story really well.
William Huxley deserves a special mention. He is extremely unlikeable at the start. Proper pompous arse energy. You almost do not mind the blackmail because he is so self-important and irritating. But his character arc is excellent. One of the strongest Pearson has written. By the end he feels completely different and genuinely redeemed without it feeling forced.
The incest storyline is definitely jarring and it does take you out of the moment at times, but it raises the stakes in a way that keeps you reading. It never overwhelms the story, but it does sit heavily in places.
Overall, very funny, clever and full of heart. One of the most intriguing and enjoyable entries in the Clement series.

I really enjoyed the first book (and if you've not read it, do so before reading this one) so I was interested to see where book 2 would go.
Once again the big man is back to help out someone in a rather unfortunate situation, which I won't go into for fear of spoiling the plot. Although Clements situation is referred to, it's not really part of the book in the way it was in book one. That's not a problem, I really enjoyed this book and I whizzed through this in a matter of days as it's another great book that kept me reading for longer than I normally would.
I'm looking forward to a third book, one that I hope will help move Clements story along, something we got a lot of in the first book, but not so much in the second.

This is the second book in the 'Clement' series though can easily be read as a standalone. I loved the first book and this one is as good as that if not better. The characters and situations are so wonderfully written and brought to life, a cracking story full of twists and turns at a pace that just keeps you engaged throughout so that you just don't want to stop reading it - a real page turner / screen swiper (on Kindle!) so to speak, I absolutely flew through this as with all his other books.
Keith A Pearson has swiftly become my favorite author, his books just totally underlie my reason for loving reading. I can't wait for his next book, and can't recommend his books highly enough.

Wonderful characters, twists and turns
Author Keith Pearson’s latest book brings a welcome return for Clement, a character who should be dead but finds himself out of place and compelled to help those suffering.
In this case, it's a mild mannered (and good-hearted) politician who finds himself being Blackmailed by a calculating but unstable woman.
As with Pearson’s other work, you find yourself liking the lead characters quickly. The story moved at a pace and I couldn't wait to turn the page for the continuation.
Another great read from Keith Pewrson. I find myself eager for his next book!

Another superb hit. This is definitely a Right’un!
Another fab book from Keith A Pearson - he knows just how to get the right mix of comedy, intrigue, excitement and enjoyment in a book. The characters are so believable and of course the return of the fab Clement. This is a great read - either stand alone or as the sequel to Who sent Clement (although it makes slightly more sense read as a sequel).
You’ll plough through this book with ease and feel all warm and cosy by the end!

An intriguing storyline and great characters, hard to put down
What seems like a random one night stand turns into NO William's worst nightmare. You can see the setup and downfall approaching but it has a dreadful momentum that can't be stopped - then Clement appears from nowhere to help save the day. One observation, if I hadn't read the first book in the series I would have wanted more background on Clement as his character isn't worked up quite as well. The insight into the daily workings of parliament added extra interest. A really enjoyable read.

I’m really enjoying this journey with Clement he such a likeable fella , I don’t want it to end .
Wrong ‘un another great read by Keith .
Characters so real , The story’s remind me so much of life on Mars / Ashes to Ashes
Clement is my Gene Hunt . ( if you watched series you’ll understand!)
Every book I’ve read by Keith I’ve given 5 stars and I don’t give them out much .
He brilliant writer life springs from those pages transports you there . Bloomin fabulous read .

A brilliant follow up to Who Sent Clement
I enjoyed this book every much as the first Clement novel. I really enjoy Keith A Pearson's writing style and his books always move along at a good pace.
It does work as a standalone book but I think was much better for having read the first one as there wasn't that much reference made to Clement's back story.
This author can't write quickly enough for me, I'm already looking forward to whatever comes from him next!

An unlikely hero
Another cracking book, as mentioned in another review this book took a little bit longer to get up and running than the first book in the series but once it did I struggled to put it down! I find myself really buying into the main characters in the book and hoping that they have a successful conclusion on their adventures. I really enjoy this author's work and look forward to the next book in the series .

In which Keith achieves the impossible and makes me feel a modicum of sympathy for a Tory MP! That's some excellent writing right there!
Book 2 in the Clement series picks up shortly after the events of book 1, but with a different person to save. It's a Rollercoaster journey of bad things happening to decent people, and Clement just being downright awesome.
The cockles of your heart will be well and truly warmed ❤️

Yet another great story from a great story teller. Mr Pearson writes well, his novels are interspered with comments about the world we live in. He uses Clement, who has come back from the past to comment on modern times and it's failings and sucesses, AS the main character is a politician it gives him ample opportunity to take politicians to task but he does it in a decent way unlike some authors !
I am now reading the next in the "Clement" series and ejoying it immensely.

Even better
I liked Clement book 1 a lot, but I found this one even better.
And the ending had me start misting up in the pub, which isn't normal for me. Cheers for that.
The narrator in this book was a very well written character, I'll miss him now I've finished the book.
Is recommended this book to anyone.

A Clement fan
Couldn't put it down. Once again the mysterious Clement seems to be atoning for his past life, although the reader is left guessing and wondering when and where his next wrapping up of a good deed will occur. Oh well looking forward to the next instalment.

Another fabulous read
Every book this man writes absorbs me. I have literally read this in one sitting. I can't wait for the next book, especially because it seems Beth will be back. I'm hoping that as the story continues, all of the characters pop in and come together to help Clement.

Another excellent read
I guess it says more about how I've liked this book when I say I immediately started reading it after the the first book 'Who sent Clement?'
Thoroughly enjoyed the first book and was more than ready for the second, my only problem now is I have to wait for the third!

An old friend
Second in the series featuring the mysterious Clement. An enjoyable read with a few twists and turns. We've still loads to learn about Clement's background so looking forward to the third instalment. Would make a great tv series this, to fill the Life On Mars sized hole in your life. Enjoy.

Another Great read by this author.
I chose this rating as thus is the second book I have read. And his books kept my attention from the start.
I really like the story and way he writes. His characters are excellent. He really puts u in the book..

Another glorious read!!
Okay, I can only reiterate the importance of reading these books. They should be part of the school curriculum. It would teach people life lessons and how to express themselves eloquently via the written word. Not withstanding the stories are great. Easy 5. 📃🏇

A naive and honest politician, titled-family skeletons, blackmail, tech-bungling, and mystery all rolled up in one. And Clement. This reader has a soft spot for the big guy! Book One, Who Sent Clement, was Very Good. Book Two, Wrong'un, surges to claim the title Great!
I highly recommend you give this series a read, or two, or three...

I love clement!!! He is an amazing character, his determination and pragmatism has no bound. The way he encouraged both beth (book 1) and William is endearing. The way he helped them with their shortcomings makes me wish to have a friend like him. He has such a positive attitude and even in most trying times he looks for solution. Both these books are amazing and everyone should give them a try.

Another Cracking take!
I loved this book so much, the characters are fantastic and we'll written, I couldn't put it down and read it in two days.
Just as good as the previous story, and didn't want it to end. There are so many beautiful moments and really did bring a year to my eye at the end. Am literally in love with Clement....... Can't wait to read the next instalment......

Loved 'Who Sent Clement?' and loved this sequel equally as much. Now the author himself states that it isn't necessary to have read the first in the series but it does help, in my opinion, in having an understanding of Clement in this sequel. Love the humour, love the neat twists. Love Clement.

I came across the 1st book by chance and I am thoroughly enjoyed it so I was very pleased to read the second book which was just as good the why he built the characters is great and you get a real feel for them good and bad although the ending was a bit predictable and with a bit of thought easily guessable a real page turner nonetheless just starting the third one now
