As the head of security for Married in Malibu, Travis Houston is absolutely certain that no one will ever get into one of their celebrity beachfront weddings without an invitation, particularly the paparazzi. But though he’s a master at keeping his clients safe, he can’t say the same for keeping his own heart safe. Especially when Amy Woodford shows up from out of the blue and completely takes his breath away. Three years ago, Amy went halfway across the country to try to escape heartbreak. But when her best friend’s wedding brings her to Married in Malibu, she’s suddenly face-to-face with the man she once loved with all her heart. Love is always in the air at the beach in Malibu, and this summer is no exception as Travis and Amy can’t help but fall for each other all over again. But will Amy’s unconditional love be enough for Travis to believe that he can be good enough to transcend the pain from his past and give her his entire heart?
THE BAREFOOT WEDDING (written under my sweet pen name, Lucy Kevin) is now available for pre-order! The brand new book in the "Married in Malibu" series will be out on September 12th -- and I can't wait for everyone to read it! ❤️ Bella
Honestly, I am one of Bella Andre's biggest fans. I love the way she tells a story, the way that the story just flows off the pages. But, this is the first time that I am reading her as Lucy Kevin. I was afraid that I wouldn't enjoy her sweet, totally romantic style of writing. Well, I was wrong. The Barefoot Wedding was sweet and romantic but it was also very interesting. It was actually a one-sitting read for me and I couldn't be happier that I read this story.
Married in Malibu seems like an interesting and fun place to get married. Well, that is if you want privacy and are willing to pay for the exclusiveness of the venue. But Maya knew what she was doing when she picked this venue. She knew that Amy would never say no to her so what better way to get Amy and Travis face to face, talking and maybe figuring out just what happened all those years ago that caused Amy to run.
Amy knows she has to harden her heart before she sees Travis again. But, she can't keep it under control. They keep getting thrown into unusual circumstances and she finally relents to that dinner. Only to be crushed again. She knows he loves her and can't understand why he keeps pushing her away. He, at least, owes her an explanation.
Travis sees the most beautiful woman he's ever known standing on the doorstep in the pouring rain. He can't believe that she's here. He can't help himself but be awed with her. He knows that she's the only woman that ever held his heart. He also knows that he's no good for her, that she deserves so much better than him. His heart is breaking again pushing her away but he knows it's for the best. Until he listens to the advise that he gives Nolan and realizes that it pertains him as well.
What a beautiful story. I seriously can't believe that I haven't read Lucy Kevin before this and I can't wait to read her again. I should have known that these stories would flow seamlessly without any flaws. The Barefoot wedding was sexy, flirty and entertaining.
Lucy Kevin is Bella Andre’s super sweet HEA pen name. If you know that going in you may enjoy it more. This story is one of the Married in Malibu series where they have created a one stop perfect wedding location and everyone on staff is blissfully talent and many are in love. This story is about Travis the security guy with security issues: P He does not believe he will ever be enough for Amy. Amy has lived the past 3 years being heartbroken about a date she went on with Travis that didn’t pan out. This is almost a romance you could have your mom read and she would aww. But for me. It was unbelievable. I could have believed it better if their history was better developed or richer.
A short and sweet love story, like all Lucy Kevin's stories.
Travis is afraid of not being perfect for the woman of his life, he has a past of pain, and broke both of their hearts three years ago when he walked away from Amy.
Now she's the maid of honor at her best friend's wedding. When Travis and Amy meet again and realize how important they are to each other and that the love has not diminished anything, Amy has to be strong to get Travis to open up and tell his past and believes that he is the right man for Any. I love Bella Andre and Lucy Kevin's books but I think they need to be longer, I read them very fast. I enjoy every second but I need more. 💗
The Barefoot Wedding Married In Malibu #3 Lucy Kevin ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is a perfect 2nd chance romance that has plenty of everything to keep you page turning and swooning. If not for the wedding duo themselves, or Amy and Travis or the Married in Malibu crew, they together tell a beautiful story of lost and found love.
Amy and Travis share a history and are about to be thrown, back into each other’s company for a wedding. 3 years ago Travis didn’t just break Amy’s heart of fire it out, stomped on it, and walked away. And while she should hate the man, she can’t deny the fuzzing feelings from that first glance, sadly not her finest moment.
Travis has always felt he was never good enough for Amy. But with a family who doesn’t see her potential, Letting her down was everything he never wanted. With his own family demons, he walked away from Amy, and now three years later he’s about to spend a few days with her, to arrange last minute details for her best friends wedding taking place at Married in Malibu, a very prestigious company who caters for the rich and famous.
This company that is all about love, and forever will rekindle what years destroyed. But with so much water under the bridge, can Amy win the only man she’s ever loved, or will his lack of respect for himself bring her down yet again? It will take a mountain, but Amy will do everything she can to get Travis to see he is the perfect man.
Leaving you from laughing and loving the pair, to wanting to throw something at Travis’ head. The Barefoot Wedding folds all the feels, meaning that’s perfect.
The Barefoot Wedding (Married in Malibu #3) by Lucy Kevin, Bella Andre
Love gone wrong is so much sweeter the second time around. Amy and Travis are a testament, not to all the ways they got it wrong, but to all the work they did to get it right. The Barefoot Wedding is a celebration of the heartache and hard work that goes into getting it right. From stupid mistakes to fresh starts, love is an ever learning experience. Kevin digs deep into the flaws that make us destined to fail and determined to succeed in matters of the heart. The glory of love means finding the strength in forgiveness. A subtle read with a powerful message.
I LOVE second chance love stories! Put that together with the author, Lucy Kevin/Bella Andre, and I know it is going to be a winner. I know that I will have a wonderful time escaping reality. The Barefoot Wedding is the 3rd book in the Married In Malibu series. It is a standalone book, and can most definitely be read by itself. However, it was really great catching up on some of the characters from the past books. When I started reading this book, I literally could not put it down. I did an all nighter reading it. I love an emotional book, and this one brought them all out. Let me start my review saying this, I wanted to smack Travis…repeatedly!!! How could this wonderful man be this stupid?!?! Amy LOVED you, you stupid jerk!!! Ok, I need to calm down. (Deep, calming breath) Ok, let me start over. This is a wonderful story of two people that fell in love. That is until Travis, the stupid jerk, did something “noble” and broke things off because he felt he was not good enough for Amy. Three years later they meet again. Both realizing that the feelings are still there, but Amy is afraid to trust Travis again. Travis and Amy are thrown together during wedding plans, and Amy starts to trust Travis again. When Travis…… Stop, no spoilers. I don’t want to give any thing away. Let me just say this. If you love a story that is highly emotional, from the main characters, as well as the secondary characters, YOU WILL LOVE this wonderful book. Thank you, Ms. Kevin/Andre for the wonderful hour of reading enjoyment you give to your readers. You are most definitely one of my jump out of reality saviors. Thank you for reading my review. Edit: My sincerest apologies Ms. Kevin. Life/time got away from me and I forgot to post this last month on release day.
I had been in a bit of a reading slump. Lucy Kevin you are my hero!!!! I thoroughly enjoyed the Barefoot Wedding. I read it until my Kindle died around 2 in the morning. I cared about nothing else this morning until I was able to finish. I am looking forward to reading again. Thank you.
Some might call this a second chance romance, but I call it a Third Times Amazing chance romance. Amy fell for Travis three years ago. He panicked and ran (okay he actually dumped her without explanation). Amy took her broken heart and fled to Michigan. You know your heart is crushed when you leave the Malibu beaches for the snow of Michigan. Her heart was cold.
Fast forward three years, although for Amy and Travis they have been slow and painful, Amy is back in Malibu for her best friend's wedding. She arrives a few days earlier to make sure things are going as planned. Travis opens the door of Married in Malibu with a look of shock. Amy had been sneaky!!!
Amy has no problem accepting that she loves Travis. Too bad Travis still thinks he doesn't deserve Amy. The author was a bit of a tease in this book. There are romantic moments. There are hints of a happy future until Travis panics again. He loves Amy enough to help her succeed in life. He doesn't love himself enough to allow himself to be happy.
It will take another love almost collapsing for Travis to get his stuff together. The question is will Amy give him another chance? How much can one heart take? Will she make him grovel?
This is my first read from Bella Andre’s pen name Lucy Kevin. It was a sweet, simple, second (or third) chance of love story with a HEA. 4 out of 5 stars for this title.
Travis and Amy fell hard for each other 3 years ago, but Travis felt he wasn’t man enough to make Amy happy so he let her go to find someone to fulfill her dreams, and Amy ran far away.
Amy loved Travis then and she loves him now. When her friend decides to get married at Married in Malibu she send Amy in a week early for prep work. Amy knows Travis works security at the event location and wonders how he’s been all these years. Will they have the same powerful connection as they once did?
Travis can’t believe Amy is standing at the door when he greets the arriving guest. She is still as beautiful as ever and he is thrown right back into those old feelings. He knows he still isn’t good enough for her, but can she make him see that they are perfect for each other?
The Barefoot Wedding is book #3 in the Married in Malibu series, I have no read the other two and I was perfectly fine. Did not feel lost as it read as a standalone very well. It is a sweet love story, about 2 people who fell in love then drifted apart, only to be drawn back together again. Once again, Lucy Kevin (aka Bella Andre) weaves a wonderful character driven story that makes you feel as though you are side by side with them as they navigate the storyline. I received an advance copy without any expectation for review. Any and all opinions expressed are my own.
This is my first time reading Lucy Kevin books so I backtracked and read the first 2 books in this series.
Travis and Amy had a history which did not end well, with Amy moving to Michigan. They meet again when Amy’s best friend’s wedding is to be held at Married in Malibu where Travis works, and Amy arrives early to check on things. They both realize quickly that the feelings they had before did not go away. However, their pasts and insecurities are getting in the way of the two finally finding their happy ever after. Thankfully, they were strong enough to overcome these hindrances, and not to mention, they have friends who want them to be together, and in the end they found their forever.
This story was simple and sweet and had very appealing characters. Amy and Travis are just like us — we all have our own pasts and insecurities — so it was very easy to relate to them. It is well written, as what you can expect from Bella Andre (writing here as Lucy Kevin), and it’s one of those books where you swoon a bit and sigh in happiness when you reach the end of the story. I must say I still prefer the Bella Andre titles but this one held up pretty well. I look forward to the next book in the series, but in the meantime, will gobble up the other Lucy Kevin books!
The Barefoot Wedding is a heartwarming reunion romance from Lucy Kevin. I'm a huge fan of reunion romances, and adored Travis and Amy's story.
Everyone has a past and Travis is no different. He unfortunately comes from a pretty ugly family history of abuse and gang members and feels like that history means he isn't good enough for someone as wonderful as Amy. Of course being a man, Travis never shared his reason for distancing himself from Amy 3 years ago; he just ended their relationship.
Amy comes to Married in Malibu early to help make sure everything will be absolutely perfect for her best friend's wedding. She had no idea she would run into Travis yet I love she didn't back down once she found out he worked there. I loved that even though Travis didn't feel like he was good enough for Amy you could tell by his actions how much he still loved her. He went out of his way to help her further her art career and he really does have to fight himself much of the time to stay away. Yes Amy ran away to nurse her broken heart years ago, yet this time she is there to fight for the man she still loves.
I really liked Travis and Amy as a couple. There was a sweetness about them and they really did just seem to get each other. They had wonderful chemistry together and I loved they really did seem to honestly be friends with each other as well as lovers.
The Barefoot Wedding chemistry runs more on the sweet side of romance, and it was a truly satisfying story. I highly recommend both this story and the series to romance readers who enjoy sweet and heartwarming stories.
Rating: 4 Stars (B) Review copy provided by publisher
I love this short and sweet second chance romance by Bella Andre/Lucy Kevin. Travis and Amy were “together” 3 years earier but when Amy, an artist, professed her love to Travis, who works in security, he broke things off. Travis felt he was to “damaged” to move forward in a relationship, thus ending their friendship.
Move forward 3 years and Travis is head of security at Married in Malibu. Married in Malibu is a premier venue that the rich and famous wed. They are known as a top notch venue with super strong security so everyone can “let their hair down” and not worry about photographers and news leaks. . Amy’s is the maid of honor for her best friend, super model, Maya’s wedding. Maya planned her wedding at “Married in Malibu” because of the quality of weddings that the venue put on AND she knew Travis worked there. Amy arrived at the venue a few days early to make sure all the I’s were dotted and the T’s were crossed and nothing was left to chance. From the moment Travis and Amy saw each other all bets were off.
Travis learned to deal with his demons and they hot couple found their happy ever after. There were some unexpected twists and turns but overall a sweet book. Can’t wait for the next one in the series!
Best quote: "When it turns out the truth is that loving someone, truly loving them with everything inside you, means getting over your own fears so that you can give them every piece of your heart. Even when it’s hard, even when it’s scary. Especially then."
My opinion: It isn’t the typical second change love story you are used to. It’s more a story about the willing to love and overcome your own barriers. Love isn’t judgmental, you are only doing to yourself. Will I ever be enough? The Barefoot Wedding gives the answer, yes you are enough, just the way you are! I loved to read about the friendship between Amy and Maya. What a special thing she did for her friend! And I am in love with the Malibu wedding venue and the Married in Malibu series. What a beautiful and heartwarming place is that! Luckily for us there will be much more weddings to come.
4 stars The Barefoot Wedding by Lucy Kelvin (Bella Andre) finds place at the beautiful Malibu Wedding venue. You can’t imagine a more perfect place for weddings, and for love. The story of Travis and Amy is exactly about that and I loved it!
Romance genre: second chance Part of a series: yes (Married in Malibu) Length: 132 pages
Plot: Amy has come back to Malibu to help with her best friend's wedding. Of course, the man who broke her heart three years ago works at the wedding venue. She will do her best to keep it all inside though, so that her friend's wedding will be perfect. The truth is she's never stopped loving him. The same is true for Travis, and although he tries to keep his distance, it doesn't really work. That doesn't stop him from trying to push her away again. for reasons.
Character development: Amy was rightfully upset because Travis never gave her a reason for pushing her away the first time. He went with the classic "I'm not good enough for her" and we don't fund out why until Amy finally drags it out of him. But also, they didn't have a romance three years ago - she told him she liked him and he pushed her away. So it was a little weird that it was such a big thing. If I were Amy, would I still be embarrassed? Absolutely. But such drama! Anyways, plot device gets her to stay there in Malibu so they were finally able to work things out. I tagged this as a clean romance. There is some kissing and then an implied night together. Nothing else that we see on page.
Would I read more from this author/in this series: yes Next book in the series:The Moonlight Wedding
Second chances, we all want them, and some are lucky enough to get them.
Amy is the Maid of Honor for her best friend Maya and heads to Married in Malibu a destination wedding venue to make sure everything is perfect for the big day.
Travis is the head of security for Married in Malibu, and although Amy has tried to sneak in by using a different name, Travis isn’t fooled.
Travis and Amy have a history. Amy doesn’t understand why Travis broke up with her and she is still not over him. Travis doesn’t think he’s good enough for Amy and doesn’t’ want her to have to deal with his upbringing.
Love triumphs! Seeing each other again reminds them how much they care for one another…sigh…I love happy endings.
This book is by Lucy Kevin, the ‘sweet’ side of Bella Andre. If you’re in need of an easy read, with a wonderful story, and a very nice ending, pick this one up! There are two other books in the Married in Malibu series, but you do not have to read them to enjoy this one, although why wouldn’t you read the whole series?!? Enjoy.
Travis and Amy are going to steal your heart in THE BAREFOOT WEDDING, the third book in the amazing “Married in Malibu Series”.
CLEAR YOUR DAY and GET COMFORTABLE. Travis and Amy’s second chance romance is delightful.
Everyone loves a wedding! (Unless you are still painfully aching from your last breakup.) But with each new wedding comes the hope of everlasting love.
Amy is the maid of honor for her best friend on the beautiful beach in Malibu, when she encounters her long lost love, Travis, who is head of security. He broke her heart, and she hasn’t recovered. But the one thing that neither of them can deny is the undeniable chemistry they share. Travis still feels that he doesn’t deserve her, and she desperately tries to prove him wrong.
Their love story is sweet and charming. You will enjoy every minute.
Travis Houston worked at Married in Malibu as the security specialist. Amy Woodford’s best friend Maya who’s is a model is using the company for her wedding. Maya sends Amy to California from Michigan a week early to check on the venue and make sure everything is ready for Maya’s wedding. Three years ago Amy and Travis were together when Travis told her that he was not good enough for her and broke up. She is nervous seeing Travis again as she still loves him. Their time together during the week is up and down. I loved how Maya who is a super model and Amy are such good friends. Maya does all she can to help Amy with her love life. Travis and Nolan who is Maya’s fiancé are so much alike in feeling they are not good enough for the love of their lives. This was a sweet story that I encourage you to read. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.
A sweet little romance filled novella. If we could understand a person’s motivation for their actions we would understand people better. Communication, being willing to be honest and open, is the only way to build a foundation for understanding. It takes being apart for three years and then a week of being in each other’s company for Travis and Amy to communicate and understand what happened to their past relationship. Travis is the head of security at Married in Malibu. Amy’s best friend is getting married there in a week. When Amy shows up to check on the details for the weeding, she makes a vow to herself to avoid Travis. That lasts a few heartbeats. When Travis and Amy finally get around to sharing their the hurt feelings and actions from the past, they can move forward, or not. Thank you for another sweet story set in an amazing place filled with brilliant people.
I truly enjoyed reading this book! It's an engaging story, that makes it the perfect feel good romance. Travis ended his relationship with Amy three years ago. It still doesn't make sense to her. She flew into California a week early to help her best friend with her wedding plans. The wedding is being held at Married In Malibu. The hard part for Amy is that Travis is head of security. Seeing each again, Amy & Travis realize they still love each other. The problem is, Travis still feels he'll never be good enough for Amy. His childhood was brutal, till he was able to stand up for himself. It doesn't matter to Amy, she still loves him no matter what. I loved everything about the book! It grabbed me by the heartstrings!
A short but sweet love story!! This is a super sweet, charming and heartwarming second chance love story set in this very romantic wedding venue in Malibu. I love this series and was happy to get back to it. Travis and Amy were friends, good friends, until Amy pushed for more and Travis pushed her away. Amy left town heartbroken and they hadn’t seen each other in 3 years. Seeing each other again after all this time is difficult for both of them. After all, the time and distance didn’t erase the love. Can Travis get past the reasons he pushed Any away 3 years ago? Can Amy trust him with her heart and take a chance? Will they embrace their love and this amazing chance they’ve been given? This is definitely worth the read to find out.
This is the story of Travis and Amy. Three years earlier, they had been dating and Travis broke up with Amy with little to no explanation. Fast forward and he is the head of security at a venue where Amy’s best friend is getting married. Her role as maid of honor brings the two of them back together as they work to make sure the wedding goes off without any issues. They both still have feelings for each other (and also their own baggage) and their time together to prepare for the wedding is the perfect opportunity to get through some issues from their past and try for a second-chance happily-ever-after. This is a fantastic and fun read that will not disappoint. Another great story from Lucy Kevin/Bella Andre.
Another amazing addition to the Married in Malibu series, i love Lucy Kevin. I love a second chance romance and this ticks all the boxes. Travis walked out of Amy's life, thinking he was doing the right thing. In the three years since he last saw her, there hasn't been a day go by that he hasn't thought about her. He can't believe his eyes when he sees her again, she s even more beautiful than when he last saw her. Amy's heart was broken, when the man she loves walks out on her. She never forgot him and no-one can measure up to him. Seeing him again after three years brings back all the hurt and heartbreak and a whole lot of love. This is a book i couldn't put down and kept me gripped from start to finish.
“The Barefoot Wedding” had me from the first page it is such a heartwarming second chance at romance love story. Travis and Amy have history together but three years ago after a devasting breakup Amy moved away trying to move on. Married in Malibu is a Wedding resort and is where Amy's best friend is having her wedding, she has asked Amy to travel there early to make sure everything is in order for the big day. When Amy arrives at the resort she comes face to face with her one and only true love – Travis – whom just so happens to work security at the resort. The two are still very much attracted to each other but can each of them leave the past in the past and get their happily ever after. You will have to read the book to find out.
Let me preface this by saying, I love Bella Andre’s work but I’d never read anything under her pen name Lucy Kevin so I wasn’t prepared for this oh, so sweet short story/novella. “The Barefoot Wedding” of the Married in Malibu series is the second chance romance between Amy and Travis. A classic case of him feeling he’s “not good enough for her” so he dumps her. She’s heartbroken and pines for him for three years. They reconnect and then he does a repeat. Really? The plot premise is pretty thin and it stretches the bounds of credibility. Added to that, the saccharine sweetness is almost cloying. But if you’re looking for a sugary sweet short story, at least this won’t give you any cavities.
A cute short story of true love winning out over everything. We have the story of artist Amy whose best friend, a well-known model, is getting married. Amy, the maid of honor, is arriving early in Malibu to be sure things are ready at the venue when she remembers her “forever” love works security at the venue.
As it turns out, Amy’s love and the groom both suffer in the area of confidence when they try to understand how the women they love could possibly love them. Guess it goes to show that true love reaches through status of any kind to touch the hearts of the intended.
While not a great story, it is a simple love story showing that true love should and usually does prevail.
Amy hadn’t been back to California in three years. Her best friend Maya was getting married and she wanted the day to be perfect for her. She used a different name so Travis doing security wouldn’t know she was coming. Once Travis saw her, the feelings rushed through him. He was still unworthy of her, and always would be, He was proud of her, and going after her dreams. Did he really know all of her dreams, and the love she felt for him. A beautiful setting, a wedding to bring that of wanting one of your own. Coukd it be possible for these two, now that they are older. To figure out how they could have that love. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
This is the first Married in Malibu book that I have read and I really enjoyed it. Amy and Travis knew each other three years earlier but Travis' past held him back from really trying to make it work with Amy. It becomes apparent quickly that neither of them were ever really over the relationship.
When Amy's friend Maya gets married, Maya orchestrates her plans to help her friend find her true happiness. I love how Amy and Travis' story gets interwoven with Maya's happily ever after with Nolan.
As with any relationship, Amy and Travis' ups and downs ultimately make them a stronger couple as they find their happily ever after.
I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
