101 Rude Letters to Donald Trump #1

Dear F*cking Lunatic: 101 Obscenely Rude Letters to Donald Trump

Rate this book

Retracing the churlish antics of our 45th president throughout his unforgettable first year and a quarter in office, Dear F*cking Lunatic: 101 Obscenely Rude Letters to Donald Trump takes both a laser scalpel and a rusty chain saw — in equal measure — to Trump’s boundless ego, bottomless stupidity, and brazen incompetence. With acid tongue planted firmly in cheek, author Aldous J. Pennyfarthing takes on the president’s unsurpassed ignorance, rampant racism, shocking pettiness, vertiginous dishonesty, and more. Based on the viral Daily Kos post of the same name. Approximately 345 pages.

Although funny at times (and of course also and naturally sadly infuriatingly true if you are in any way against Donald Trump) I cannot really claim that I have found Dear F*cking Lunatic: 101 Obscenely Rude Letters to Donald Trump all that enjoyable and even all that readable. For one, there is much too much repetition within the pages of Dear F*cking Lunatic: 101 Obscenely Rude Letters to Donald Trump, and frankly, what is entertaining at the beginning really does very quickly turn both old and cold, since one is often reading the same sentences, the same lame words, the same off-colour insults and scenarios over and over and over again, and come on, that sure is not engaging and entertaining but rather the opposite, rather frustratingly tedious and monotonous (especially as nothing in Dear F*cking Lunatic: 101 Obscenely Rude Letters to Donald Trump is really all that much of a surprise to and for those of us who despise the POTUS and what both Trump and his acolytes represent).

And for two, but considerably more problematically, since one of the main character "traits" of Donald Trump that I absolutely and utterly do despise and vociferously condemn is his penchant for thin-skinnedness and that he tends to react to any and all criticism viciously, rudely and generally inappropriately (like a two year old with a temper tantrum) I can neither condone nor support a book (even a book legitimately critical of Trump) that basically reads and feels very much like how the POTUS himself often if not usually is and acts, as that would be majorly hypocritical and using a dual standard (both of which I totally reject and hate). And yes indeed, when I am reading Dear F*cking Lunatic: 101 Obscenely Rude Letters to Donald Trump, while I might certainly agree with all of the criticisms and even much of the animosity presented, the tone of the letters, their very rudeness makes me consider them as being very much akin and alike in feel and scope to Donald Trump and his supporters, to their reactions, their tendencies to spew bigotry and garbage and as such at least to and for me, and as potential Trump critical reading material, Dear F*cking Lunatic: 101 Obscenely Rude Letters to Donald Trump is personally simply unacceptable.

This book was hilarious in the beginning, but the deeper I got, the more repetitive it became. I don't think anyone hates Donald Trump and his administration as much as I do, but a never-ending parade of insults -- no matter how creative -- got to be wearying.

Therapy

Appropriatly obscene. Brilliant use of exquisitetiy nasty terms to describe a nasty man. And a factual accounting of destructive actions taken by him. A recounting of all the lies would make the book too long. Thank you Mr Pennyfarthing and kindle for this book. I was happy while i read it.

In 100 years from now when they're trying to understand what was the mood like during this time, this is the only book they need to read.

It is incredibly funny with important facts to back up the humor, which is not an easy feat!

Everything we've wanted to say to trump...

A festival of verbal flayings for the deserving POTUS. 😂 I'm looking forward to the next installment! Pennyfarthing for President 2020!

Entertaining if you happen to think Trump is the worst human on the planet, which I do. It is something to pick up when you are in the waiting room waiting for you r root canal.

Too repetitive for me. Funny at first, couldn't keep reading repeated insults even though Trump deserves the approbation he gets from anyone with a brain.

F*cking brilliance.

I enjoyed every letter to the Bloviator, and the added timeline was the perfect narrative backdrop. Roll on November indeed!

Funny in an ironic sort of way!

I liked the humor and innuendo BUT there was way too much gratuitous cussing. I would really like to see Aldous engaging in the prolific use of Shakespearean insults instead of crude gutter language. Trumpty Dump wouldn't have a clue but us readers would enjoy it more.

Vitriol for the truly dedicated

Political Commentary
First off, let me say I despise Trump and corrupt minions. He has made racism openly acceptable for many mentally deprived citizens. His followers continually drink the Kool-Aid. While the letters are interesting and accurate, direct character attacks wear thin very quickly for me. People devolve to character attacks when they are unable to refute the position of their opponents. So while the timeline was very useful to see just how much damage Trump did in his first year, the vitriol quickly became as toxic as Trump himself. History will likely discover Trump was a paid agent of Russia since the early 2000's, when Russia began using Trump to launder money and protect his golf courses at the same time. Which would make his time as President as a paid foreign agent, as well as coward and a racist. In twenty years, people will shake their heads about how Americans allowed themselves to be duped by this con man, and let him get away with so much hatred and evil, and worse, found so many criminals in public office willing to sell themselves for more power and a chance to enrich their pockets. Others may find it their cup of tea.

It takes a lot to make me laugh...

LOL funny. Most letters succeed, some less so. The accompanying timeline provides the collection of stupidity, incompetence, and cruelty that prompted each letter. I found myself thinking "I can't wait til he gets to the pandemic and insurrection"! Things went from comical and worrisome to inhumanely stupid in early 2020, then outright horrifying when he started declaring that " the only way we lose is if they cheat!" The ever growing depth and breadth of the damage Mango Mussolini (aka Orange Monster, Cheetoh Jesus or Cheezus, and many others that I don't recall) has wreaked upon this country, our international position, and mostly the people is astounding. Those of us who see him for the bungling narcissist he is, and those who've been conned and taken in to the point of cultlike worship, live in the same country, but you'd never know it. Information silos are ALWAYS bad.

Yes, this book does become a little repetitive. And yes, the humor is unbelievable sophomoric. And yes, the use of profanity is beyond gratuitous. That being said, I DID laugh, and found that enjoying the humor of this book was very therapeutic in these very dark and twisted times. The timeline of actions taken by the Trump administration serves as a striking counterpoint to the humor contained in the "letters that accompany it. I would only recommend this to someone who is thoroughly opposed to Trump and his policies - others will likely find this book to be highly offensive. I rated it "only" 4 stars because it does seem like the book was hurriedly thrown together, and is therefore a rather slapdash affair.

Funny, frustrating and scary! Oh my!

An equal parts hilarious and harrowing commentary on the delusions, duplicity and just plain ineptness of the person most recently elected to the office of President of the United States.
Whether a person supports or has disdain for the man in the Oval Office, the veritable laundry list of concerning, questionable, and too often than not truly dumb things he's said or done or both, demonstrate in 'Technicolor' his ignorance of the foundations, meaning and ultimate purpose of our republic. Read it and weap in both mirth and misery.

He knows our frustrations

Mister Pennyfarthing understands the American soul. I have all the emotions he unloads in his book about this major mistake we have in the White House. I just hope and pray that we can get rid of him in November, 2020 before he destroys the nation. I also hope we can find out ideals again. That feels like it will take a miracle. We could do well without the godless evangelicals also.

Obscenely Brilliant!

Had to read this in chunks; I started to hurt from laughing too hard for too long. Plus there were so many bad days I’d forgotten (bless my old memory, or am I simply becoming inured?) that he brought to mind and then skewered. A treasure in these foetid days.

Insanely funny book. The author goes day by day with things that tRump did from his first day occupying the White House (he always refers to him as "pr*sident" instead of spelling the entire word out), then comments on them in side-splitting, if not enormously profane, manner. Not for someone who has problems with the 'F' word.

The D. Frump Reality

Pennyfarthing is a political satirist GENIUS! Never have I been able to laugh, period, while simultaneously reviewing the GLOBAL TRAVESTY that is Donny Frump and any one or thing associated with this JACKASS! Thank you Aldous for providing some respite from the Frump/rightwing republican nightmare! Keep up the excellent and VITAL work.

Having COPD and reading this book nearly killed me

I laughed out loud at almost every page. The vocabulary was utterly magnificent and with the Kindle and easily accessing a search on words, I learned a hell of a lot of new words and phrases. I'm sick and almost bedridden and this has been the best therapy.

The best of Trump

The only thing better than Trump about this book would be Trump dead, cold and dead, after Ivanka and Jared read it to him some night before bed. This story is a dream come true in the fantasy and lunatic world of Trump. Now just let me wake up and find out my fondest wish has magically come true. The wish that Donald Trump is dead.

Haven’t actually finished, but I loooooove it. I basically read an entry or two every day in 2020 that the whole Trump thing got to be too fucking much. You’d think I would have finished it, but I still have a few pages to go. I just wish I’d found these books closer to 2016. I really could’ve used them.

I loved reading Aldous J. Pennyfarthing's Dear F*cking Lunatic. I laughed so hard while reading this book I was afraid that I might wet myself. This author uses such descriptive and upper crust adjectives that sometimes I had to break out my dictionary but I was never disappointed and it was always worth it. Bonus - I learned some new words too!

Love Pennyfarthing's snarky style and the way he insults trump. Each "letter" to trump is prefaced with a daily accounting of things that happened in trump's time in office and each letter usually refers to at least one of those events. Enjoyable read if you despise trup and what he did to this country when he was in power.

This book induced such severe fits of laughter that I was afraid my neighbors would be alarmed by the outbursts of maniacal laughter emanating from my house.

Hilarious and scary.

The facts are terrible, horrifying, and absolutely enraging. The letters are offensive (though not nearly as offensive as our governmental reality) and hilarious (not always "laugh out loud" funny, but always "fuck, yeah" amusing).

Gets it all out

Okay, the profanity isn’t truly necessary, but it actually does enhance the absurdist sarcasm of the letters. The chronology of the presidential bullshit helps put things in perspective.

Wow

I had to give this 5 stars for the snarky nicknames for the Cheeto in charge alone. I read it in one setting and will be reading the rest of the series in order over the weekend. What else am I gonna do during quarantine caused by guess who?

Funny, but got repetitive

It had wonderful insults, but, I was ready for it to end. I'm living in this idiot's megalomaniacal rule. Reading about it got to be too punishing.
Who should read this? Anyone with a brain and a conscience.

Funny book!

This book is a must read for anyone who lived through the horror of four years of DJT's insanity. I laughed so hard I cried. They say laughter is the best medicine. Read this book! You'll feel so much better! Hilarious!
