Dive into a whole new world of deception, love and family with Shameless Southern Nights, a new contemporary romance series from USA Today Bestselling Authors J.H. Croix & Ali Parker
Marie was more than the woman of my dreams. She was my everything.
I’d do anything for her. I’d give her the world if I could.
I felt helpless against the grinding force of the legal system, with her ex threatening to take all that she held most dear.
I refused to sit back and wait. The tangled secrets my father left in his wake caught me in their web. I didn’t care about the risks I took if it meant giving Marie what she needed.
I could handle my life being in jeopardy, but hers and her son’s? That was out of the question.
Done watching her ex toy with her peace of mind, I set out to end his games once and for all.
I’d do whatever it took to give her the life she truly deserved. Even if it meant putting myself at risk.
*This is the final book in the Down & Dirty trilogy. The next trilogy, Slow and Steady will tell the story of Sonny, one of the other brothers.

What an amazing ending to this trilogy (although i really liked niki and sonny's story better) In this one Wesley FINALLY gets what he deserves, asshole. Jeremy and Marie relationship continues to grow! I don't want to give too much away but this book definitely wrapped up their story with a pretty red bow :)
Finally this book is here. I've been suffering for it so ce the day I ended book 2. Just do you know I've been following these two, J.H. Croix longer, but since they got together to create this series I'm doomed. Now I have one more author to follow. Oh boy. Like I said before their writing complete each other and that made me a happy camper. Down & Dirty 3 is here now and continues to explore Marie and Jeremy's lifes. But let me just say one thing. This series is not a standalone therefor you should read the other two books first. As you know, if you don't go read the first books, Marie and Jeremy were forced to be apart due to the fact that Marie's ex is a jerk. But distance doesn't end their relationship but sometimes we do what is best for out loved ones and that... I can't say more. I simply can't so I'm gonna shut up. Read this series and get ready... The plot is superb, very well written, super engaging and powerful. Each scene caught me in a way that I couldn't stop reading. The interation between the characters is beautiful despite all the trouble surrounding them. There were parts of the story that I wanted to strangle someone.... Jeez... Let's talk about mean people. This book presented us with love, loyalty, family, friendship as well as betrayal, madness and evilness. Why do people need to hurt someone? I'm in love with this two and I can't wait to start the new series... Oh girls... What can I say? This series just nailed it and of course I want more... More.. . I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is the conclusion to this trilogy and the best yet. With Marie and Jeremy being separated due to the custody fight they try to make things work but there are a lot of obstacles in their way. Jeremy and his family are just starting to get out of the mess his father left them in and now there's this mess with Marie's ex. Can they managed to win the case when things take a bad turn? This was a great story and series once I started it I couldn't out it down. Through everything that goes on Marie's and Jeremy's love is stronger than ever. This is a well written and very entertaining story that will captivate you from the beginning to the end. I would recommend this to any book lover.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. I enjoyed it so much I bought my own copy.
I received an advanced copy and am voluntarily leaving a review I love this final part of this trilogy and love both JH and Ali. OMG I can't believe the twists in this part of the book. I never thought the custody fight would end the way it did. Also didn't think the goons following Jeremy would get caught so quickly after he went to his brother Sonny for help and explained everything including how he got the money for Marie's lawyer. He is trying so hard to take care of Marie and Austin and keep them safe from Wesley but hiding the lawyer's fees and where he got the money for them from Marie makes her think he might be like his dad and her ex. Will Jeremy be able to get Marie to forgive him? Does Marie really believe Jeremy is like his father and Wesley or is it just because he was not telling her about the cost of the lawyer? Will they be able to get past this first fight and work things out or will Marie tell him to leave her alone forever?
4.5 Stars This is part three of Jeremy’s book in the Shameless Southern Nights series. I adore the love these two feel for each other. It feels right and real. I can almost hear those naughty words he’s whispering in her ear. The description of Jeremy makes me long to see him walking down the street in all his sexiness. Austin is cute and just brings a little more joy to the story line.
The plot twist was unexpected and kind of wrapped things up in a nice tidy bow and the saga of Jeremy‘s father continues. I look forward to Sonny’s story next.

My review will mostly be for the full 3 parts, since it's hard to review parts within a serial on their own.
I enjoyed it, but I did have some frustrations with the story that kept it from being a full 4 stars, and instead it's 3+ for me.
First of all, I had a complaint about my Kindle copy. The free copy I downloaded was supposed to be 1-3 of Down and Dirty, all in one volume. Then I get to the end of the first part, and nothing more! Just the cliffhanger! And no way to download parts 2 and 3, because they're just being offered as the bundle. Was REALLY frustrating. It did, however, get worked out. Had to update, re-download, etc. and then I had the full copy on my Kindle. SO, be warned, I guess, and learn from my frustration. Maybe you just need to re-log in and re-download everything.
On to the review...
As I said in my review for Parts 1 and 2, it's a pretty standard premise, though the characters are likeable. I think Jeremy's pretty sweet, and I like Marie, though both are pretty stereotypical characters.
The writing is pretty well done. I've enjoyed a lot of Croix's books (love her Brit Boys series), though I haven't read any of Ali Parker's yet.
What bothered me most was the trilogy aspect of it, while it showed the most in middle section, there's still a bit of padding here. There's still a lot of drama dragging on with Marie's ex and his threats and the custody case looming, so for a bit it still feels like nothing really is happening. And then boom! Everything wraps up neatly!
In short, a bit overlong to stretch it into 3 volumes-worth. Pretty formulaic set-up and storyline. Likeable characters, though, and pretty easy reading. No cheating. If you get it in a single bundled volume, Jeremy and Marie's story is a HEA. But if it's just part 3, then it comes from one cliffhanger but ends neatly by the end of the book.
From the moment Jeremy Lovett and Marie Nix first appeared in their series of stories, I was immediately drawn into their lives because of the realistic dilemmas that they faced. Marie has an ex who causes one problem after another for her and their son, and Jeremy is soon caught up in not only her troubles but some of his own making. J.H. Croix and Ali Parker have created a very true-to-life world for their romantic couple, where family, friends, and careers are a huge part of their daily lives. Emotional issues also play an important role in the story, and I felt as though each incident that arose was genuinely convincing and often touched me deeply as I was concerned about the outcome of these events. DOWN AND DIRTY #3 took me on a journey of highs and lows, and I thoroughly enjoyed every compelling scene.
In the days following Jeremy Lovett meeting Marie Nix, their lives became more fulfilling. But when the man with whom she had a son tries to get custody of the child, the relationship that seemed so promising has taken a step backward because of a big hurdle caused by her ex. Though Jeremy and Marie may now be separated by miles, the connection between them is stronger than ever. Unfortunately, the demands made by the boy’s father lead to a court trial, which causes all kinds of stress for Marie. With the outcome of the custody case uncertain, Jeremy makes a decision and the consequences could be dangerous for him.
The first trilogy in the Shameless Southern Nights series may have concluded, but I will definitely remember many of the happenings for a very long time. Jeremy and Marie did not have a smooth beginning, and the numerous trials they had to endure could either make them stronger or tear them apart. Any sexual encounters were certainly steamy, and the amount of tender caring shown during these moments expressed how they truly felt about one another without words. The authors not only put their couple through the wringer, but also had me feeling much anxiety, too. I am very eager to read about Sonny, the next Lovett brother to get his story told.
I voluntarily wrote a review after receiving a copy of the book via Booksprout
Jeremy Lovett couldn’t keep his mind on work. Thoughts of Marie kept distracting him. So he headed out to check on the Patterson Project to distract himself. As he did, he got a text and was surprised it was from Marie! He promised he would visit her in Savannah this weekend. Then his brother Sonny spoke up from beside him and said Tyson needed him to stop by his office when he could. He was filing charges as District Attorney against Marie's ex for stalking, threatening, and intimidation.
In the meantime, Marie’s ex puts pressure on her in a custody battle in the court over her son, Austin. And unfortunately, Jeremy puts himself at risk trying to help her at any cost. You won’t want to miss this exciting conclusion in this emotional roller coaster. Who will win the custody of Marie’s son? Will Jeremy actually cross the line and ruin his possible future?
The authors did a very good job with this book. The characters were real, believable, and likable. Their struggles with Marie’s ex, Wesley, was very realistic and truly engaged the reader to experience what they were going through. This book concludes the trilogy, but Sonny’s story is coming up. So be sure to catch up on the family with this one, and be ready for more!
Oh, boy. You’d think these two had enough problems already. Marie’s crazy ex seems to have limitless ability to make her and Austin’s life a nightmare, even with Jeremy’s perseverent and consistent presence in their lives despite Wesley’s threats. Forced to live away from her support system and straining to make ends meet, Marie lives in constant fear of having her son taken from her while doubts plague her about her relationship with Jeremy. Meanwhile, Jeremy’s overwhelming desire to help Marie out and protect her from harm spells out disaster when he makes a regrettable decision that sends thugs after him. The result is hearbreaking and it seems Wesley will have the last laugh after all. This final book demonstrates how sometimes, even a bad situation gets worse before it gets better.
I loved how Marie kept her independence until the end and that she was a true mama bear in terms of doing her best for Austin. Jeremy’s a sexy sweetheart and I’m so glad his steadfastness and determination only wavered at his darkest hour. It’s impossible not to root for things to work out for Marie and Jeremy and I was cheering for them the whole way!

TALK ABOUT A DYNAMIC DUO EXPLOSION!!! Put these two talented authors together and you come up with a great tale. Wow! A whirlwind, rollercoaster ride of emotions and unexpected surprises that will rock you to your core. If you're looking for action packed, fast paced, heart pounding, pulse racing, adrenaline pumping read that captures your attention from the start. You've found it. You're in for a wild ride with enough danger that keeps you on your toes as well as a razors edge of excitement. The characters and scenes were realistic, intriguing and complex. The two main characters were well paired and developed with such an intense attraction and desire between them you feel the electricity jump from the pages. Scenes were vividly detailed and descriptive that you feel apart of the story instead if on the sidelines reading about it. Twists, turns and danger hits hard a little too close for comfort. I felt like I was fighting right along with these two spellbinding characters. Remarkable job Ladies and thank you for sharing this little gem with us.
I read this book as part of an arc program. This is the third and final book in this series. In this book, we pick up with Marie and Austin still living in Savannah and awaiting for the custody hearing with her abusive ex-boyfriend Wesley. Jeremy plans to travel to Savannah to visit on the weekends and whenever he can get away from work. Marie is settling in, but hates she is away from Jeremy. Jeremy is still paying for Marie's lawyer and is starting to worry about where he will find the money. He visits his father to see if there is any money hidden from his crimes he can access. If Jeremy gets money, danger will follow from his father's enemies. When Jeremy decides it is too dangerous to be away from Marie and Austin, he thinks moving to Savannah will help. I love this book, it has plenty of steamy scenes with Marie and Jeremy and a lot of danger and suspense. I love them together and thought they belonged together. I can't wait to read the other series' with Jeremy's brothers.
If you haven't read any of the books within this series, I'm not sure what you are waiting for. This is book 3 in the Down & Dirty series and completely worth your time. Marie and Jeremy are perfect for each other but have been through many bumps in the road in their relationship. Marie had to move back to Savannah to deal with Wesley her ex and the custody battle that he brought to the courts. Jeremy decides he needs to help her the best he can but in order to do that he has to do something that is riding the line of being legal. In this book you will find out what happens in court with Wesley? Where Marie and Jeremy's relationship goes from here and if Austin is happy with what they decide. There is so much within this series that you do not want to miss. I don't like to give away the books so pick it up yourself, you will not be disappointed.
Strong relationships and character development in part 3. Some questions are answered and others are there paving the way for the rest of the series. A well written series which holds much promise for future installments.
I have really enjoyed Down and Dirty but personally as a reader I would have preferred them to be all together in one volume as the gap between books 1 and 2 being released and this one meant I'd forgotten some things and didn't feel as connected to some characters as before. I also felt that at times the story rushed in this installment, although it didn't leave me with any questions or feeling short changed , I did feel it could have had a bit more suspense if that makes sense without giving any spoilers away...
I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an ARC.
Ok....I arrived in the middle of this series 📚, never having read #1 or #2, so I'm kinda lost, and it reminds me of some other book I read, but I'm gonna just go with this story.
Marie💋💔 and her son Justin👱 have been moving around to keep running from the boy's father, Wesley👹. Wesley👹 is a real piece of work, he has restraining orders and exes all over the South, apparently! He never does quite enough to get thrown in jail, though.
Jeremy🐺🍆🌋, Marie's new squeeze, has his lawyer brother Tyson, working on it, though, but they're both frustrated that Wesley👹 is so slippery. Marie💋💔, the poor woman, is living in some damp, sweaty, hellhole apartment in Savannah with her son, always looking over her shoulder.
ARC Received for a Voluntary and Honest Review
I enjoyed the book,📑 although it's not something I would normally read. Its definitely an Adults only, XXX rated, single mom romance💕!
Jeremy is a good guy with a whole lot of patience for the woman he loves including her son. He'll do anything to protect them. He does things her way because of her insecurities. Marie life has not been, a walk in the park with her stalker ex-husband following where ever she's goes and making life pure HELL for her and her son. Now that Marie and Jeremy has found happiness together and maybe even a happily ever after. Wesley her ex now decided he want custody of their son and want to keep them locked in their home town to keep her away from Jeremy.
Evil lurks in the shadows, closing in on them and Wesley gets caught in the cross fire. but it also paves the way for their HEA to see light as it always should have.

This book continues the story of Marie and her son Austin. They are in Savannah and still battling Austin's father, Wesley. Jeremy is doing everything he can to help them but he misses them terribly. This book gives us danger, suspense, passion, love, and learning to trust others. I loved reading this trilogy and you will love how this story ends. No spoilers here... I received an early copy to read and review. I loved it. It keeps you interested from the beginning to the end, well written and a sweet love story. I love how these two authors have joined together to write an entire series on these brothers and giving each a 3 book story. I can't wait for the next books to come out to see what happens to this family and this town. I highly recommend this book.
A captivating story that is written in a beautiful style. I like the emotions and the chemistry that flows of the pages. Likeable characters that are well described they have instant attraction and develops nicely through the story. I like it is written in dual POV, which gives the reader both the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. That makes the story even more emotional and captivating. Both characters has a dark past that catches up with them. They have to struggle a lot to get to their HEA. She struggles with an ex and he with his fathers dirty work. The twists are great and unexpected at times. Such a great work by these two amazing authors. Absolutely one that you have to read! Cannot wait for the next one!
Jeremy has put so much on the line for the love of Marie that he put them in danger. Because of his father’s business venture that was corrupt, men were following him and threating him. It is all about the money that his father has hidden. Jeremey finally told his brother what was going on and they took measures to make things right. Unbeknownst to Marie her problem will come to an abrupt end in regard to her ex. She finally can return to Cypress Creek and the stress that she has been under was eliminated. Jeremy, Marie and Austin finally become a family that makes everyone happy. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC book for my honest review. I truly enjoyed this book. Thank you for a wonderful read.

I loved the conclusion of thos book amd the HEA seriously made me shed a tear. Such a great series!! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. Hero, Jeremy = 5/5 Heroine, Marie = 5/5 Chemistry = 5/5 Sex = 5/5 Plot = 5/5 Mystery = 3/5 Action = 2/5 Darkness = 3/5 Humor = 2/5 POV = dual Would I recommend this book = yes Would I re-read this book = yes Would I read future books by this author = yes
This final book in the series was everything I hoped for and more. With as much emotion and anticipation I read it went way to fast! Hopefully more Lovett brothers will have their own series so we can keep up with Cypress Creek.
I would definitely suggest reading book 1 and 2 so you can fully appreciate this book. This book shows the strength, fear, loyalty, love and determination of this couple. Even though it isn’t smooth sailing I love the respect and honesty that is shown and the willingness to being the bigger person and admitting fault. Even when the choices were made from the heart.
Down and Dirty #3 by J.H. Croix and Ali Parker is the conclusion of the trilogy story of Jeremy Lovett and Marie Nix. I loved that the authors kept the story realistic filled with emotion and struggles for Jeremy and Marie. Marie is learning to accept help from Jeremy and friends with her abusive controlling exboyfriend Alex, who is the father of her son Austin. Jeremy wth secrets of where the money is coming from that he is helping to pay the lawyer for Marie and then being threatened by the ex and the criminals looking for the money his father's hid. Also, Jeremy is balancing trying to keep Marie and Austin safe and help herwithout seeming to be like her ex. The Down and Dirty #3 is exciting with twists and turns and well worth reading. I recommend reading the complete Down and Dirty series and can't wait to read more of the Lovett brothers stories.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was an enjoyable read and a good conclusion to Marie and Jeremy's story. This is the 3rd book in Jeremy and Marie's love story and I highly recommend ready the previous 2 before picking up this one. They are meant to be read together. At this point Marie and Austin have had to move back to Savannah for the custody case with her ex. Jeremy and Marie are doing everything they can to keep Austin. Jeremy is fully involved and hates being away from Marie and Austin. I enjoyed the story. There are a few twists in the story. This story kept me entertained and engaged as I read it. I was happy to see Marie and Jeremy's happy ending. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This series was absolutely amazing and a real eye opener. It told us of how two families have to deal with their families past to become a new one. Jeremy and Marie try to make thinks right with how to teach young Austin that life is always filled with good and bad and it's okay to be sad when someone you know dies. In this finally book we see everything finally come together for the better. I can't wait to see what the other brothers stories have to tell us. This book was outstanding and so worth the read. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy.
Absolutely love Jeremy and Marie’s story! Such a beautiful story of finding love when you’ve surely lost hope! Love the Happily Ever After conclusion! The dynamics, the physical attraction, the struggles (and there are many), the emotions… as well as the love scenes are so well written that I can feel everything. I love the quality of J. H. Croix and Ali Parker’s writing style. I’m also looking forward to Jeremy’s brothers’ stories in the upcoming Shameless Summer Nights Collection. Beautifully written! Loved it!!!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The end of the trilogy has arrived and what an ending it is! This is one absorbing read from the beginning. Jeremy and Marie have many obstacles that they need to overcome from the custody battle, to Jeremy’s family trying to work out the issues from his father and the problems with Marie’s ex. This is one incredible read as the authors have penned some true to life situations that hit the reader in the heart. The storyline will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I look forward to reading more from these authors and hope it will be Sonny’s story. I volunteered to read an advance copy of this book.
Down and Dirty #3 is the last installment of the Shameless Southern Nights trilogy. It is the story of Jeremy and Marie’s struggles while fighting her ex in his attempt to gain custody of her son, Austin. In addition you have the repercussions of Jeremy’s father’s connection with some unsavory characters who want to reclaim their dirty money. This book has many twists and turns in their quest for love and a happy ending. This is a great love story that is well worth reading! I read it the same day I received my ARC - found it too compelling to put down and am voluntarily reviewing it!
Wow!! The conclusion of Jeremy and Marie's trilogy had me sitting on the edge of my seat and turning the pages as fast as I could to see what would happen next. I loved this suspenseful, steamy, sweet and emotional book with unforgettable characters especially Jeremy and Marie and Marie's son Austin. I highly recommend this can't-put-down book and can't wait to read the next trilogy in the Shameless Southern Nights series. I received an advance reader copy from Booksprout and this is my unbiased review. I liked the book so much, I purchased the entire trilogy so I can read it again later.
I loved watching the drama and tension in this book; the connection between Jeremy, Marie, and Austin. I was glad to see them get what they deserved, I just thought the ending came about a little too easily for everything they went through to get there. There’s now a few more clues about the situation surrounding the Lovett patriarch that make me very interested in finding out more about this whole family. I look forward to reading about the next brother to find his ‘forever’. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
I can't give away any spoilers because the final book in this trilogy wraps up an amazing story between Jeremy and Marie. The struggles they face continue and Jeremy will do anything to help Marie, even putting himself in danger. All the questions you need answered will be answered when you read this book. Do Jeremy and Marie finally get to be together, how did the custody battle go, and so many more.
Ali Parker and J.H Choix are a fantastic writing team and I look forward to reading the rest of the Lovett brothers stories in the Shameless Southern Nights series, starting with Sonny
The final book in the trilogy. it was all wrapped up but it was an emotional rollercoaster. my heart hurt for Marie and Jeremy. Marie is so used to handling things on her own and not used to help. Jeremy just wants to be with Marie and her son. The custody battle and how that ended, just WOW!!! Didn't see that coming at all. My only downfall is how quickly things got wrapped up with the goons after Jeremy and the money. It just all came together quickly after he went to Sonny for help.
I voluntarily received a copy for my honest review.
