My Review
This is the origin story of the character Dario Panetta. Here, in this book, the author describes the miseries Panetta faced in his life, including starvation and poverty as well as his romantic affairs with Shawna. His fight for survival is portrayed by the author as he discusses subject like foster care service and physical abuse and its impact on the psyche and development of an individual. The author explains how these wounds run deep and never stop bleeding.

On one hand we see the love found - lost relationship between Dario, the fighter and Shawna, the tattoo artist on the other hand, we find the action packed narrative as Dario puts down his fist of justice. In the end, we find a touching moment between Shawna – Dario as he decides that he wants to keep her away from his messed up life and moves away as Shawna keeps on hoping and waiting for his return.

It is a story of Panetta’s endeavours to right the wrong done and to tie the loose ends before he moves ahead in life.

This book is the origin story of Dario Panetta, a tough, street-fighting kid coming into adulthood. Dario is hungry, and the abject misery of his life has mad him hungry to find a better life. Written in a fast tight style, this novella is non-stop gripping action as Dario and his companion Mauricio navigate the difficult prize fighting streets around Boston. Dario and Mauricio know the solution to their problem is a dollar amount. They have devised a plan that will change their lives, and muscle is their problem solving tool.

There is a lot to discover in the writing style of Gregg Matthews. He is able to convey the intimate details of the City of Boston as well as frenetic, urgent, atmospheres in the settings of his story. I could not set the book down until I was finished and it was a rewarding experience. If you have an appetite of action, this offering will satisfy. The story is innovative and the plot is well thought out.
