She has twice received the Canada Council Prize for Children's Literature, and was runner-up for the Guardian Award.

An entertaining, quick enough read. Cliche characters throughout and an almost insulting depiction of indigenous culture and beliefs. Especially as described during the climax. Read it because of the title, which is the best part.
