Lady Scoundrel

Rate this book
Verity Parnel was all that her name implied: truthful and just. And climbing into windows in the dark of night and robbing the men who had destroyed her father was a very truthful and just revenge. — Nicholas Lynton had never shot anyone before, much less a young miss attempting to rob him by moonlight in his own bedchamber. But before he could make proper amends, she fled into the night.

After pursuing Verity to Brighton, Nicholas began to wonder: did he really want her hauled before the authorities? And while Verity had dreamed endlessly of the devastatingly handsome gentleman, she would need a great deal of convincing to believe that although she failed to steal his purse, she had swiftly stolen his heart....

A rather sweet book altho all too much is not really explained. The villain is the hero's cousin and he's dealt with much like the cousinly villain in Joan Wolf's The Arrangement. Shuffled off to the New World. Heroine is a little too perfect but her mother is selfish and beautiful (how boring if everyone was perfect) and the hero is capable and 3 steps ahead of the heroine all through the book. A keeper.
