Dead Ahead
** From Eve Paludan, the #1 Bestselling Author of WOLF MOON and VAMPIRES SHE WROTE and the #2 Bestselling Author of DRAGON LESSONS **
Vampire for Hire Samantha Moon’s newest client owns a donut shop, but this case is anything but sweet!
Sam’s newest private investigation case involves surveillance of a female narcotics detective who works the graveyard shift for the local police department. She’s a hard woman to track down, and when Sam finally catches up to her, she discovers the police detective’s terrible, shocking secret...
The truth bites, and Sam’s treading in dangerous territory, so she hires her sexy, werewolf lawyer boyfriend, Kingsley, to assist her on this tough private eye case.
Meanwhile, Sam’s teenage kids, Tammy and Anthony, work on an unofficial investigation of their own as they team up to rescue a missing runaway girl before it’s too late—they even drag Fang into it! Tammy is struggling with her growing powers to read people’s minds—it’s taking a toll on her to know everything she knows. And Anthony—with his supernatural strength and his powerful flaming arms—is all that stands between Tammy and eternity.
To complicate matters, an outbreak of teen vampires is actively recruiting for both death and undeath—and they won’t take no for an answer. These young adult vampires are creating a creepy vampire cult that could become a pandemic if someone doesn’t stop them—now!
When Sam’s P.I. case intersects with Tammy and Anthony’s case, it’s just a matter of time before evil, bloodthirsty vampires propel this non-stop Moon family adventure toward its stunning conclusion!

Hard to even finish
So many story lines going on, and none of them were particularly interesting. I was annoyed by the characters and just wanted the book to end.

Better than the original..?!
After doing a binge read of Eve's Sam Moon books, I think I may like them more than the original JR books. Eve has a couple of deep "feels" scenes in this book that I think ring truer whether it invokes teenage angst or adult marriage conflicts. Or, it could just be that I like more Sam Moon books being available!

Love Samantha Moon
An ex-wife, mother and Private Investigator, oh not to mention a vampire. In this case, she enlists the aid of her boyfriend, Kingsley, while Tammy and Anthony strike out together to locate a missing teen. For people that love Vampire for Hire they will enjoy this romp with the Moon family.

Interesting take on the Moon family dynamics.
The book felt like it was written by J.R. Rain. So the story and characters were seamless. There was a bit too much of the soul searching dialogue, but otherwise full of action and entertaining. I will read the next in the series.
