Finish your book in a week.. Your book was real, some parts had me

This book is phenomenal great read Ramon is a break out star with his first published novel.Definitely a urban hit with his raw gritty portrait of one man’s life journey. Instant classic right up there with Coldest Winter Ever in my opinion better but read it for yourself and you decide

I have to tell you that this is a very powerful story! I noticed a girl that I see on my train ride home from work missed her stop 3 days in a row because she was reading a book that seemed to completely captivate her. On the 3rd day, I jotted down the name of the book and found it at Amazon.com. At first, I changed my mind because it was a story about a street hustler's life and that's not my cup of tea. Then I noticed that the book had all 5 Star reviews unlike the romance book that I usually favor. I read the reviews and was persuaded to purchase a copy.

The book is an amazing journey of ups and downs, good and bad decision making, and happy and sad experiences that kept me wanting to know more. I found myself imagining what I would do in those situations. I felt connected to the characters remained intrigued with Earthquake's communication style. This was the most entertaining book I've ever read. I give it 5 Stars and suggest that everyone reads this book.

Surprisingly enough, this is a self help book without being "preachy or teachy." I come from a upper middle-class family in Connecticut and the only knowledge I have about street life comes from movies like Boys In The Hood, Scarface and New Jack City. This story felt like a movie where I got to know the people involved and was able to understand the circumstances that drove them to the choices they made. I learned viable, decision-making tactics to improve my own communication with people and that was completely unexpected. Ramon Darnell has led an incredible life. He was raised in the streets but somehow always seemed to accept the punishment that came with his destructive behavior. That's something that we don't see demonstrated with even the most "so called" honest, respectable people in society. The book is thoughtful, entertaining and I can't wait for book II to learn what happens next in his life. Kudos to you Darnell. This is an excellent book!

As an avid reader and English Literature major, I found the book to be phenomenal. The author allows his readers the privilege of entering the most intimate parts of his life. With everything from social-economical to diversity, equity and inclusion, we see the life of a young boy evolve into a strong African American man before our very eyes.

Excellent read and an excellent teaching tool for all ages.

I grabbed the book off of my assistant's desk as I rushed out of the office to board a plane to Los Angeles for the Memorial Day Weekend. I figured that I'd pass the time on my 4 hour flight. I spent the next 12 hours glued to each page. This is the first urban book that I've read but it won't be the last. Looking forward to Book 2. The life of Earthquake was filled with adventures and life lessons packaged in brilliant, story-telling episodes. This book feels like a movie. I hope to see you on the big screen. Great work!

The book is a real good read. It was funny but crucial at the same time. I don't like nothing phony but this came off genuine. The story is too real to be made up. The game is cold and I take my hat off to Earthquake for being able to tell it like it is. Dude you down, you remind me of myself. I know a real player when I see one. I would rate you higher but this is all they allow me to give you.

This story required me to be brave and have an open-mind for the gripping journey of a man's life. Earthquake was able to snatch survival with his skills and cunningness. He turned the harsh and sobering realities of life into a business as he moved into adulthood in search of another way. The events that unfolded were humorous and tragic in this behind the scene revelation. Be prepared for a deep, thought-provoking reading experience. It's a great read!

In this book the writer takes you on a journey into his childhood, adolescence and adulthood. Where you will experience rawness spill off each page. He gives you a front row seat to experience his life through his storytelling . He’ll show you the underbelly of the city; including details and intimate accounts of his life. Reading this book I experienced comedic moments that made me laugh out loud. There were moments that I cried real tears from falling in love with the characters. As I read this book I saw the writer’s words come to life. This book is definitely a page turner. I can’t express enough how much I enjoyed it. Waiting patiently for Volume II
