Lacey Willow isn't just a witch. She's a bad one. Any attempt to use magic tends to end in quirky ways which is why she owns a magic shop where people purchase amusing parlor tricks. When her new shop neighbor turns out to be a PI, Lacy is unprepared for the shenanigans that are about to go down. Soon she finds herself accused of stalking, snooping around a funeral parlor, and dealing with hexes while she tries to clear her name.
A.L. Kessler is an author of paranormal and urban fantasy books and is best known for her “Here Witchy Witchy” series. A self-proclaimed coffee addict, she resides in Colorado Springs with her family and menagerie of animals. When she’s not writing her next book, she loves to read and visit with friends and family.
I am familiar with Ms. Kessler’s writing and was excited to see a new series. I like her writing, and I have to say I really liked this new series. While it almost was a little too light, I really enjoyed the book from start to finish, and I can’t wait to see what Lacey and Trace will get up to next. I hope poor Lacey's magic improves. The book was a light, cozy paranormal, with an interesting plot, and it will entertain all ages. Highly recommend! I was provided the e-book which I voluntarily reviewed.
Great read, actually made me laugh a few times. Her magic had always been a problem, in that it didn't work the way it should. When a PI opens up a business next to her, she is drawn into a Web of conspiracy and attempted murder. Hexes, wizards, death threats are all mixed up in a really humorous quirky read that you will love. Alright the person behind it all is obvious from the start but the way they are caught is a real fun read. She is quirky, unsure and a bit of an introvert. He is handsome and sure but a bit slow on the uptake. Wonderful characters and the bunnies are great! More please
I found this book to be full of fun and mystery. Lacey is a fumbling witch, Trace is a hunky PI. Together they need to so!ve the case. Read about the fun adventures... Pam James
I have read quite a few books by Mrs Kessler and i have to say this one surprised me. It was a huge change in her normal MO for writing and I loved it!! I truly think she should continue this series because we all need a break from the doom and gloom of the everyday life. This story kept smiling and wanting more. Some of the images she used were quite amusing. Gotta say now I sort of want wine colored drapes. ;)
cute and quirky. Lacey Willow and Trace McHue make the perfect pair. A P.I. and a witch solving cases in their town, a town that frowns on magic. A wealthy woman hires Trace in a divorce case, but her paranoia about Lacey makes everyone say hmm. It doesn't take Lacey to figure out the truth.
I normally am a Romantasy reader, but this came up in our book club and since it was a short read, I decided to give it a go. I read it in two days and really enjoyed it. The FMC isn't great at magic but her she's super witty and I found myself laughing a few times. Especially with the fur sprouting and bundles of bunnies at the end. IYKYK.
Overall great read and will definitely be reading more by A. L!
